In the last few weeks this kid has gone from being (innocently) overly ambitous kid to Ace Williams in credibility.

I would bet anything Marcellus' sources are just ex-players. He is not a journalist who breaks stories. He's an ex-player who I bet keeps in touch with a lot of guys from the league. We've been hearing from Brian for a while that the ex-player crowd has been very bullish to "its happening".

Cue the "I can''t believe I have to say this again" post.

I think its actually clear to me now. Brian said something earlier today to the extent of its not that Harbaugh is flakey - as of now it would be Michigan, but if new info came to his attention that could change things. JUB just tweeted that NFL teams can't tamper with Harbaugh until after season, in which case they will pounce on him. I think Harbaugh is interested to wait and see what those NFL offers will be. Obviously he can predict what jobs will be open, but maybe there's a mystery job out there that might open the coffers - Cowboys? New Orleans? Cinci? Maybe there's an attractive job (at least in comparisson to Oakland and NYJ tire fires) out there that is willing to dump a semi-successful coach in hopes Harbaugh brings a super bowl.

I appreciate you trying to spread information. However, if you've been here for 5 years, then you would know that starting a rumor thread that is based on extremely thin info you heard from your parents, which they heard from a friend, is kinda rediculous. If there's something everyone here has learned its that unless you are Jim Hackett or Harbaugh, no one is close enough to this situation to claim any kind of inside information. Honostly, the fact that you think this is "inside info" tells me you're just trying to look cool.

I don't think the Miles removing himself is a coincidence. Even off the record, he could have said something like that a long time ago, I think he may have been tipped that Something happened with harbaugh

There appears to be a loud minority that does not like Miles, and a quiet majority who would consider him a clear #2.

Instead of marking these threads CC, can we have some tag for sarcasm? I understand the OP was just trying to make a light hearted thread, but I'm getting tired of clicking on threads thinking they will have new info, only to be yet another CC joke
|1 week 1 day ago||I was able to pull up on my||
I was able to pull up on my phone last night, but immediately dismissed it as it appeared to be posted on somekind of internet underworld forum. Was there some reason to believe the info had even a shred of credibility? I only ask because it seems the majority of people were more concerned someone had posted very private information, rather than just discrediting it for the fact that if someone with that info was going to spread it, they wouldn't do it in internet Siberia.

Isn't it a little early to be done with finals? I remember having tests the week before Christmas

I actually don't think the Beilema situation was as crazy as most people here think. At the time, he was somewhere between Pelini and Loyd Carr. He couldn't win a rose bowl, he blew their chance at a NC by losing to MSU, and he was did not have a very likable personality. I did not see him lasting more than another year or two thier anyways.

I think this is actually evidence Hacketts smokescreen is on levels we couldn't even imagine.
|1 week 6 days ago||This almost strikes me more||
This almost strikes me more obvious he has been contacted at least through hid agent or search firms. Had he wanted to squash rumors he would have added something like "...and if they did I'd tell them I'm not interested".
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Yeah||
Cowheard essentially said that there is a current coach out there which no one is mentioning right now, but is possibly in serious consideration. He said we would find out who that person was this weekend. Some folks here (and possibly some other blogs too perhaps) for whatever reason took that as "we have a coach who will be announced this weekend".
|2 weeks 1 day ago||I think TiM is saying the||
I think TiM is saying the flaw in Gregg Hensons story is that there are folks who want Miles over Harbaugh, and they are the source of any "Harbaugh staying in NFL" rumors. I think the vast majority of people would love Miles, but hard to believe theres a contingency out there who prefer him to Harbaugh.

So the only piece of "evidence" you present is that Cowheard likes Malzahn? Ok
|2 weeks 3 days ago||UTL II||
It was fools gold, but that was the peak. Think, just last Septamber, here's where we stood:
- Followed sugar bowl season with mediocre 8 win season, but losses were to 3 undefeated teams, and finished a last second loss to top 10 SEC team.
- Open season with domination of MAC team, like we're supposed to do.
- Easily handled a solid ND team in our own place in game 2.
At this point, how could you not think the ship was on the right path?? From that point on, it was all downhill fast and hard.

If your comment was read in the context of your marriage rather than the football team, it would be a great opening to a rather sad memior.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Well said||
MY only "concern" is that Michigan offered the big name AD's and all gave a "Thanks, but no thanks". Which I guess hurts my Michigan fan ego? None of these guys thought coming to Ann Arbor was worth it? It obviously shouldn't though, AD's are not like coaches who know they live nomadic lives. Bates and Manuel could very well be living perfectly happy lives in Boston and Conneticut.

Wait, Gregg Henson predicted that either Hacket will end up AD, or there would be a new AD in place? Dam, he must have some real solid source.

This is a 2 seed from last year returning almost everyone. If we hit one free throw, or get just one of about av dozen aweful calls to go our way, we win that game. Ill take that in November
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Spot on||
Kinda amazes me how short some people's memory is here. No one remembers McGary was sporadic on offense and a total liability on D most freshman year, he only really broke out in the touny. Irvin started his career something like 1-14, didn't break out last year until that Nebraska route at home. The offense in general didn't get rollin until about B10 play last year, and was really just a Stauskas 1 on 1 show first few games (hmmmm, now doesn't that sound familiar?). And the D that people were complaining about the first 3 games, just gave Oregon to nothing in their half court offense, so its clearly improving. Same time last year we just barely beat Florida State, and lost to Charlotte. We may not be as good as last year but some people's expectations here amaze me.

Don't forget Jarvis Landry, who may have been better than ODB in college. Also, 2 of Les losses were by a combined 6 points at Georgia and at ole miss.

|4 weeks 1 day ago||I'm sorry, I just can't let||
I'm sorry, I just can't let something like this go without comment. Les Miles had 9 players drafted last year (most of any school). 5 were under classmen, and 7 were on the offensive side of the ball. This was after 9 guys went in 2013, and 8 were under classmen. You heard that right, Les Miles has lost 18 guys in the last 2 years to the NFL. Its not possible to reload that kind of talent, but yet he's still bowl eligible in the toughest division in the country. His offense is having a pretty bad year, but its still light years ahead of our tire fire. This is with a true soph QB and after losing 7 starters from last year.

With just a quick google search (not trying to give you a LMGTF - just saying you might find something more relevent with more searching), I found the following FY12 operating budget for the Athletic Department:
The athletic department appears to operate on its own, I see nothing in there about providing money to any other part of the University.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Yes, I think 99% of the||
Yes, I think 99% of the people who were upset with the Loyd Carr status quo 7 years ago would happily return to it at this point. Most of them have realized they took for granted what we had. I would also say circumstances can absolutely impact expectations. In 2007, we had been a national powerhouse for several decades. At that point, if it becomes apparent we can not win a NC with the current regime, its fair to start asking if there is someone out there who can get us to the next step. But right now? If we can get someone to return us to the status quo it would be a godsend.
