OT: Tim Kawakami still not happy. And there was much Harbaugh lamenting.
So Tim Kawakami comes back from summer vacation and is more pissed off than before he left.
Jeezus, the negative media barrage on York-Baalke in SF just seems endless.
And the 2015 season hasn't even started yet.
But I’ve said this from last season: When York and his lieutenants began the whisper campaign to get rid of Jim Harbaugh a full year before they ended up firing him, that entire escapade–16 games of it–knocked the entire franchise off of its bearings.
York had to know that plotting against his very successful coach FOR A FULL SEASON wasn’t healthy, didn’t he? There were going to be unforeseeable complications and problems.
Every team has to deal with problems and tough personalities and the regular turmoil and atrophy of an NFL season.
Important point: It’s not at all probable that Harbaugh, in a normal, healthy franchise situation, would’ve lasted much longer than 4 seasons anyway.
But when you attack your own good coach, then deny you’re doing it, then fire him anyway, then deny you fired him by calling it a “mutual parting” and when everybody understands that’s a non-truth… you set yourself up for incredible instability.

Countdown to Oakland is still in play joke...

Aren't York and Baalke thinking of moving across the Bay? At the very least, I'm sure most niner fans WISH they'd go to Oakland.

They basically play in SJ now (technically Santa Clara). Saw Levi's Stadium last time we visited the in-laws.

Keeping in mind the Raiders didn't come into existence until the early 60's - From the mid 60's to the early 80's the Raiders were unquestionably the better of the two organizations. For the first half of the 80's they were about equal.

Only if the day comes when Harbaugh gets the NFL wanderlust and Oakland actually does come into play. That will definitely NOT be funny.
But that day is never going to come because winning B1G championships and kicking OSU and Sparty's ass never gets old.
Harbaugh

The "Oakland is still in play" was funny for about 15 minutes post "Harbaugh to Michigan" was official. By the next day, it was irritating. By February, I wished I could ban every account that posted it.
It is it a terrible, horrific, and idiotic joke that needs to be put to bed worse than "Hoke Sux" threads and "D Brandon also Sux" threads.
August 11th, 2015 at 3:16 PM ^
I agree that it isn't particularly funny but lighten up. It isn't that bad. Horrific, really?

August 11th, 2015 at 2:54 PM ^
It is bad, and you should feel bad.
August 11th, 2015 at 6:26 PM ^
Don't worry man, I'm with you. It's not universally applicable, but well timed ones are still funny.

for win total this year? 3.5?

0-16 all over it. And guys with the last name Smith don't like the 49ers apparently.
August 11th, 2015 at 4:29 PM ^
This 49ers team is bad, but the Lions 0-16 team was a special bad that takes years of losing and bad drafting to accomplish.

Holy shit! Is that for real? I knew there was some attrition, but tha't a freaking mass exodus!
August 11th, 2015 at 2:56 PM ^
That is insane! That franchise is totally imploding.
August 11th, 2015 at 5:35 PM ^
If the Owner/GM are running off that many guys in the off-season then that is just more evidence of Harbaugh's genius. It would be hell for any coach to deal with that much turnover.
August 11th, 2015 at 10:05 PM ^
Wallpaper season, eh?
August 11th, 2015 at 2:27 PM ^
in some situations. Winning isn't for everyone.
Harbaugh can't be any more difficult to work with than Belichick, yet Belichick manages to survive because Kraft stays out of the way.
August 11th, 2015 at 2:28 PM ^
Oh how I love visiting this.
Harbaugh will never coach at Michigan. Accept this.
30 upvotes, too. Nice one.
August 11th, 2015 at 2:36 PM ^
Looking at you, evenyoubrutus.
August 11th, 2015 at 2:55 PM ^
I read evenyoubrutus' statement differently. He qualified his eating a million lemons statement with "if it meant getting Harbaugh," which to me implies he would would have done it IF him doing said, insane stunt actually affected the process of hiring Harbaugh in a positive way. He does not flat-out state he would eat a million lemons if Harbaugh were simply hired.
August 11th, 2015 at 2:37 PM ^
Did evenyoubrutus and MGoBender ever eat all 1 million lemons?
Or do we just accept the fact that they don't/can't back up what they say, and therefore they are inherently untrustworthy and lack character so one should never a) go into business with either of them b) trust them and c) believe a word they say.
August 11th, 2015 at 2:38 PM ^
That was said almost a year ago by an innocuous MgoPoster. You certainly enjoy dancing on people's graves.
August 11th, 2015 at 2:39 PM ^
With the self-pleasure over there?
August 11th, 2015 at 2:42 PM ^
Hmm........NOPE
Not until everyone in that thread pays up. Whether it's lemons or bags of human hair.
August 11th, 2015 at 2:39 PM ^
Did MGoBender ever eat his lemon or did he weasel out because of the salary demands he added to his declaration.
August 11th, 2015 at 3:53 PM ^
I don't even remember making these posts. How WD remembers them is a little worrisome.
To be fair, I never said I'd eat a lemon if JH came without the salary stipulation. My thoughts were that Michigan would never go that high. Didn't consider Harbaugh not taking a top college salary even if he did come back.
Also, to be fair, Harbaugh was a pipedream last September. This was the commonly accepted viewpoint, so I'm not exactly embarrassed by it. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the negs on that post are a result of WD re-posting it.
But, really, who the fuck cares? We're all happy cotton-pickin' M fans and alums and I sure as hell am glad I was wrong on that one.
August 11th, 2015 at 3:59 PM ^
I ate my lemons. Those things are NASTY (even with a shit-ton of tequilla)
August 11th, 2015 at 4:01 PM ^
Now you're on to something... If I eat a lemon over the corse of drinking a jug of sangria, would that count? I think I'll brind a lemon next time I hit Dom's.
August 11th, 2015 at 4:34 PM ^
I'm not sure the official scorer will accept that. Take your citrus-consuming punishment like a man!

I went to walmart and bought the $8 khakis the morning of his intro presser, so I'm living up to what I said. Should be interesting wearing them in 70+ degrees to September games...
August 11th, 2015 at 2:57 PM ^
80+ fine, but temperatures in the 70s are too warm for you to wear pants?
August 11th, 2015 at 3:12 PM ^
Hate the heat. I guess I have a very warm body temperature. I open the window at night when it's January so it gets in the 50s in the room.
One of the many reasons I hate summer is that it's too damn hot. Love the fall and winter and the beginning of spring.
Oh well. I'm not going back on what I said.
August 11th, 2015 at 3:31 PM ^
August 31 in Arkansas will probably somewhere north of 90 degrees. I hope you employ khaki shorts into your wardrobe.
August 11th, 2015 at 4:21 PM ^
That's a good way to waste money and increase your carbon footprint.

Speaking of Walmart, I went there yesterdy to pick up some back to school items for my kids and decided to do a little case study.
While walking around the store I observed 5 customers in Walmart wearing Sparty gear, and 0 customers wearing UM gear. Why then to Spartys still call us Walmart Wolverines, when clearly they are the ones that are shopping there?
