OT: Gary Harris Gets Ankles Broken By Killer Crossover
Just a little light hearted MSU ribbing.

I thought he was a good defender?

for the last 3 years. i think that's a long enough to hand them the label of sorry.
they need to clear Kobe and Nash's salaries before they can be good again. Neither has played any meaningful time the last three years

Nash already retired.
And when they actually land said FA then by all means you'll be vindicated. Right now they couldn't land an impact FA until Kobe retires. And at that point, you're asking a major FA to go to a situation where there are no established stars and a more desirable team in the same market (Clippers) and teams in nearby states with far more desirable tax situations (Florida, Texas). If NY and Chicago have trouble getting FAs, I'm not buying LA is going to be welcoming another couple HOFers in the summer.
And he nails the three ball on top of it all.
It was a nice crossover, and as for Harris, it is rare to be nearly blown out of your own shoes by something so smooth and well-executed that your body cannot tolerate whatever the specter might be, so he should be grateful he was able to experience something like that.
Yeah it builds character.
weird guys
Holy shit, I had no idea Harris was so tough. I don't think I would be able to finish a game on a broken ankle. New respect for that guy for toughing through an injury like that. Gotta question the medical staff for letting him keep playing though; seems contrary to player safety.
Tough crowd
I for one, couldn't stand that guy so this brings me joy. If anyone has NBADL highlights of someone doing this to sorry ass Keith Appling - please share.
L-O-Fucking-L
I actually kinda feel bad for Harris (and Nik in that respect). Both Denver and Sacramento are kinda tire fires, and so you have these guys trying to figure out how to play on terrible teams. I never thought Harris was much of a jerk, but this year has been really underwhelming for him, especially on defense. Nik was never expected to be even an average defender, but one of Harris's calling cards was as a potential 3-and-D guy.
Fuck Harris.
If Nik could get to a Spurs or team with a superstar that dominates the ball and needs the floor spaced - he could really fit in. Cavs and Thunder don't need him, Clippers have Reddick. He'd be a nice backup to Klay Thompson in Golden State.
Trey, still wish the Pistons would've drafted him - but if he could get to a team like the Cavs where he could backup Kyrie that would be a nice fit. I love to see him replace Della-whatever his name is.
Trey wouldn't have worked particularly well on last year's Pistons team, and who the heck knows how he'd do this year. Utah is an interesting squad - Gobert, Favors, and Hayward are a nice little collection of young players, and they should get another decent draft selection this year.
Burke, though, is sadly just not that efficient of a player. When he came out all the talk around him was that he saw himself as an Iverson-type, which isn't a mold you can duplicate unless you are an amazing athlete and superhumanly resilient. Burke is neither, and so you got a guy who shoots a great deal, not particularly well, and it is a below-average defender. I guess he could be a decent second-team option if you just want a scorer, but unless he gets his outside shooting up (or suddenly become a much better finisher near the hoop and finds a way to stay healthy), I'm not sure if he'll ever be more than a third-tier player.
better check his pants for doodoo
He is still getting used to the shoes that make him 6'2 in the NBA rather than 6'5 at MSU.
injury that affected his play last year. I know Izzo talks about it frequently. In fact, I think he even mentioned it in his halftime interview this year when they were up on us at Crisler.
It's not that great of a move. He's already off balance from the pick and trips over his own foot. It's basically akin to Smith vs. Clowney. A lot of things happened to make it look as bad as it did.
Maybe we should just give Gary a break? I mean, it is Dwight Buycks we're talking about here...
I have no idea who Buycks is...I guess I don't want enough NBA. Oh well.
...which makes it even better.
And no, it's more just that the Lakers suck. (for why we don't know his name)

I enjoy seeing MSU guys faceplant as much as the next right-minded person, but Gary Harris is Zak Irvin's best friend from high school so he's probably a pretty cool guy in spite of his poor choice of college.
I wish I could get humiliated while playing in the NBA. I'd love to have ankles broke, but recover just in time to defend a dunk attempt, and end up getting posterized.

LA was really playing with some "weird guys" out there... I'm amazed they even knew how to shoot a ball in a basket. Izzo's "weird guys" weren't even capable of that a year ago.

Harris didn't fall over on the play. He was just going down there to slap the floor because that makes your defense reall really good.
