How do you pronounce "Qatar"? I still don't know. People pronounce it differently even there.
Illness I acquired: Some sort of upper respiratory infection
Type of monkey I fed: A langur, who look a berry from my hand and then, because he was full of berries, dropped it and looked up at me with a face that said I'd wasted his time.
Attainment of elightenment: It was only the effect of cough syrup with codeine.

Fun fact: In 2003, I sang for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, 10 years later I was literally on my knees praying to God for victory when Trey hit "the shot." This is still my favorite Michigan basketball moment. It was so damn late and I was so tired from a long day of work, but it was worth every bit of lost sleep.
Favorite Football Moment: "Under the Lights." I have never enjoyed Brett Musberger's voice, but he sounded like an angel when he said "Wide open's Gallon, they left him alone..."
Favorite Football Moment #2: "Touchdown Manningham!" I was stuck at dinner with my in-laws and their friends (all OSU fans) and I was missing the game. As we were leaving, I saw the game was on at the bar. This was just before PSU scored to go ahead. My in-laws graciously stayed there waiting for the last couple minutes of the game so that I could witness it live. Really wish I could have been there.
Non-Michigan Football Moment: This year's Super Bowl. I was so depressed when that circus catch happened to put the Seahawks in striking range. When they had the ball at the 1, I could see the end of Tom Brady's career. Thankfully, that vision was ripped away when Malcom Butler jumped the passing route and secured victory for my Patriots.
I love this blog WAY more than I should...

Took some time off from advertising to go to cooking school in Chicago. I was a pastry chef for four years before I had kids.
I loved Michigan football in college, went to a handful of games after I graduated (see below: The Kurse) and then really got back into it 6 or 7 years ago.
Fun fact: We lost every game I attended after graduation (Illinois, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State, and Toledo) until the Ohio State game in 2011. That's a span of 24 years. I called it The Kurse.

I have a picture from that game of my kids sitting in the stadium. My daughter was around 5 at the time and she has the most disgusted look on her face, really from just having to sit through an entire game, but it summed up the afternoon perfectly.
I drove a 1,000 miles to watch Michigan lose to Toledo. It was the first home game in 16 years. I've been going to away games @ IA and @ IL the last 16 years. It was the first home game my wife got to see at Michigan. It was a close game but we lost to freakin Toledo! Never again losing to a MAC team. Hopefully, we will stop playing MAC teams.
