Attainment of elightenment:  It was only the effect of cough syrup with codeine.

First name: Jonathan

Live: Grove City, OH (just south of Columbus)

Family: wife and 2 kids under 5

Sports: I played tennis in HS, then abandoned sports because I am no good at them.

Hobbies: graphic design, music, video games when I have time.

Occupation: Banker

What I wish I did for a living: graphic design.

College: private Christian college, BA History/Business Marketing

Fun fact: In 2003, I sang for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, 10 years later I was literally on my knees praying to God for victory when Trey hit "the shot."  This is still my favorite Michigan basketball moment.  It was so damn late and I was so tired from a long day of work, but it was worth every bit of lost sleep.

Favorite Football Moment: "Under the Lights."  I have never enjoyed Brett Musberger's voice, but he sounded like an angel when he said "Wide open's Gallon, they left him alone..."

Favorite Football Moment #2: "Touchdown Manningham!"  I was stuck at dinner with my in-laws and their friends (all OSU fans) and I was missing the game.  As we were leaving, I saw the game was on at the bar.  This was just before PSU scored to go ahead.  My in-laws graciously stayed there waiting for the last couple minutes of the game so that I could witness it live.  Really wish I could have been there.

Non-Michigan Football Moment: This year's Super Bowl.  I was so depressed when that circus catch happened to put the Seahawks in striking range.  When they had the ball at the 1, I could see the end of Tom Brady's career.  Thankfully, that vision was ripped away when Malcom Butler jumped the passing route and secured victory for my Patriots.

I love this blog WAY more than I should...

My name is Jason and I'm not very creative in making user names. From Canton MI; played football for the Salem Rocks. Went to Michigan and majored in the always useful poly sci and now my career involves neither politics nor sceince. I follow all the local (Detroit) teams save NFL where I am a Niners fan. Jed York is a case study on why we should hate all things Notre Dame. As a caveat to that rule I point out that it is perfectly acceptable (and necessary) to never acknowledge Joe Cool as a Domer.

Age: Let's just say 50 is right around the corner

Michigan grad, AB in Communications

Brother and uncle are Michigan grads

Played no high school sports, but I am deceptively athletic or so my husband told me when I beat him repeatedly in tennis

Advertising copywriter for 15 years on large packaged goods, mostly television and radio

Took some time off from advertising to go to cooking school in Chicago. I was a pastry chef for four years before I had kids.

I loved Michigan football in college, went to a handful of games after I graduated (see below: The Kurse) and then really got back into it 6 or 7 years ago.

Fun fact: We lost every game I attended after graduation (Illinois, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State, and Toledo) until the Ohio State game in 2011. That's a span of 24 years. I called it The Kurse.

I knew we were going to be awful in 08' so my gf and I decided on traveling for the Toledo game bc I said we had no shot at losing bc we were something like 24-0 vs the Mac at that point. The crowd was piling out until McGuffie caught a ball down the seam, putting us in chip shot fg range. I was standing by the Toledo band and had a perfect angle for the fg. As the fg sailed wide I remember thinking we would go 1-11 lol. Turns out I was 2 games off. It was a long drive back to new york.

I have a picture from that game of my kids sitting in the stadium. My daughter was around 5 at the time and she has the most disgusted look on her face, really from just having to sit through an entire game, but it summed up the afternoon perfectly.

I drove a 1,000 miles to watch Michigan lose to Toledo. It was the first home game in 16 years. I've been going to away games @ IA and @ IL the last 16 years. It was the first home game my wife got to see at Michigan. It was a close game but we lost to freakin Toledo! Never again losing to a MAC team. Hopefully, we will stop playing MAC teams.

I'll definitely check it out. I had a food blog for a while that mostly recounted my crazy days in cooking school and some of the kitchens I worked in. I'd link you to it but I somehow lost my web hosting and my blog address now links to some sort of Asian site.

Born and raised in Flint. Ran track and cross country in high school.

Proud graduate of UM-Flint

I'm the son and father of MSU graduates (plus two other children who attend(ed) college here in Oklahoma where I currently live).

Met my lovely bride in grad school at Purdue.  I proposed to her during an alcohol fueled argument just to get her to shut up. It worked. We've been married nearly 30 years.

last name:  OK

football team lost one home game, the last, my four years at UM, but no Rose Bowls

high school:  G. P. South Blue Devils

sports played:  pathetic

I could not make a no-cut Babe Ruth baseball league.

Played IM basketball in 7th grade, was called for double dribbling before attempting a free throw

in high school, football.  proved freshman year 0 and 6 record was no fluke by going 0-9 senior year.

actually, worse than that, 1-8 because a team that beat us 28-14 had to forfeit for playing a 20 year old.  And I did not even start.

Did play on a championship IM hockey team post-graduate as a "significant other"
