Which piece of "Michigan Tradition" would you like to see return? (other than winning)
Which part of Michigan's tradition would you like to see return (other than the wins)? There has been some chatter on the board about helmet decals, or getting rid of the Legends numbers, etc. I personally, would like to see the Victors walk make a return in some form. I think it was good for both the players and the fans. Thoughts?

sounds like a racial slur. For what race I have no idea. Maybe the resident of the Florida Keys?

The wisbone that Bo lined up in, but never actually ran any wishbone plays from.
Looked cool though.

And put an old school Bo cap (somewhat thinner block M, maize, and no manufacturer logo) on Harbaugh' s head. Maize.

I've never been a huge fan of retiring jersey for practical reasons. I think the legends jerseys is a creative solution to the problem of a dwindling number of available jersey numbers issue that arises with retired jerseys

I think this is a good solution. When people complain about legends jerseys I think they are complaining about Gallon having 3 different number, Funchess, etc.

Last week a buddy of mine and I had the same discusson over a bottle of Glenlivet 18. We figured that the idea is great, but the execution was bad. Players that earn the number should be honored whether or not they choose to take on the number, and if they go with the number it shouldn't last longer than 1 year. This gives new players the opportunity to wear the number but it also allows everyone to wear their own number and build their own legacy. These jerseys were meant to honor the legends before them but also highlight stellar performing players on the current teams.

Only music played in the stadium being produced by the band.

The wings on the helmet were thicker, bolder in Harbaugh's day.

And the away jerseys were cooler.
Bring those back too.

Also, like Mark Hammerstein, more full names on the back of jerseys for comedy's sake:

What I like about those is that the stripes are closer together. They've migrated apart so that on some players the stripes almost touch the tips of the wings. It's not as sharp-looking. If I were king of the world I'd scoot them back inward an inch or two.
January 6th, 2015 at 3:42 PM ^
Yes, closer together and at an "attacking" angle. Look at the middle picture of Harbaugh. Are those stripes bad-ass looking or what?

The old scoreboard, and no more music....
And winning of course...

Agreed on killing all of the piped in music, with the possible exception of when the MMB is moving from one location to another if they can't get organized to play during such transitions.
And they need to move the location of the MMB. They sound awful being amplified. Move the band to the back of the endzone in what I assume is the freshman portion of the student section so that they are facing the majority of the stadium and aren't shielded by the upper classmen who are standing.
Ever since the MMB moved from the visitor sideline, they have been nearly silent in my seating location (Home sideline).
And less noise from the jumbotrons during breaks. Either the band plays or let people talk.

I was part of the MMB when we transitioned from the visitors sideline to the student section, and I seem to remember that part of the rationale was to make us feel more a part of the student body, which is ironic since now they can't hear the band at all unless they're piped in through the speaker system.
We also got permanent bleachers (including more space for the tubas and drumline) instead of being squeezed into section 40/42 (or temporary bleachers/chairs on the field for the big games). While the additional space was nice, I think we had more fun w/ the dance team on the visitors sideline, and it made rushing the field a lot easier (2005 Penn State anyone??).

The three-year-old white, wired-haired fox terrier has gained considerable recognition for her halftime performances at Michigan football games. She recently began her third season of halftime shows, which feature a run from goal post to goal post pushing a maize and blue ball while weaving through U-M band members' legs and eluding perplexed officials. After three seasons, Whiskey's skill is matched only by her popularity and acceptance.

The crowd would go nuts when she approached the endzone in her random scamperings.
The BullWinkle song
Cheerleader handstand races
Cheerleader backflips off the wall to count the points (the wall was lower then, maybe off of something about the same ~3 feet? height.)

This always annoys me. Why is it that yelling at players and generally acting insane considered effective coaching? As a coach, I work hard to not let frustrations show so that I (and my players) can focus on correcting the issue and not "holy shit he's having an aneurysm and he fucking hates me."

Repetitive threads that need to die...
- Helmet Stickers
- What Hoke traditions do you want to see stay/go
- What Brandon traditions do you want to see stay/go
- 3-4 Defense?
- What assistant coaches do you want?
- Who should be the next S&C coach? (aka "Bring Barwis back?)
...I miss any?
Add "grad transfer threads" to the list...
This basically falls under two categories.

(Mr literal interpreter here ;)
Maize uniforms were worn in the 50s I believe when Navy visited and demanded? to wear their navy uniforms.
Thankfully, those were quickly retired.
Now I think a maize uniform belongs in a Wolverine Devotee depth collection, but keep it in the stands were it belongs.
