Hoke Invited?

Just wondering if anyone has any insight or thoughts as to whether Brady Hoke may have been invited to the Harbaugh press conference. Lloyd and Mo were there, so just curious.

Your last sentence is spot on.

But right now he'd be a distraction. He knows it, Harbaugh knows it, everyone knows it. In a couple of years, after Harbaugh's established himself, we'll start seeing him around if his other time commitments permit it.

You may have meant, "Did he know she had been my girlfriend?"  I can assure you that he did.  A guy marrying a girl knows who her long-term boyfriend was, especially since she never actually broke up with him.  Or did you really mean, "Did she know?"  Uh, Yes.  It was pretty obvious.

Life is sometimes funny with how things work out.  But we have to be good guys, and that means not showing up at a guys wedding when your presence would be an unhappy part of what should be a great day in his life.

When my husband and I were dating, we went to one of his high school friend's weddings - a girl. As we made our way through the congratulations line, he got to her first and she said to him, "And I always thought it was going to be you." Uh, did you not know your new husband is standing right next to you??? And my husband wasn't any less shocked. Talk about awkward.

of Rich Rod, anyone else find it odd that he wasn't mentioned as one of the past coaches who's 'shoulder's I'm standing on?' Is he the cousin no one talks about in the family??? Deserves better IMO.

...but I agree in that the comment was meant for the guys who are Michigan lifers, the guys who truly built the program and Michigan was the "dream job." People forget Hoke was at Michigan BEFORE he was head coach.

It was weird though because Hoke and Carr were the guys on each end of RR.

He does deserve better, but he's not going to get better and we just have to live with that.

If Harbaugh wins a NC, that always lightens things up...at that time he'll be accepted more from the (people who get referred to as "Michigan Men" even though it's the wrong definition of the term).

It's always going to be awkward though, can you imagine a reunion of coaches with Carr standing next to Rich Rod? Think if that happened next year for the home opener. That's pretty much the tension in a nutshell.

We as fans let it go a long time ago (for the most part), but the guys inside Schembechler will have to have some real fireside chat to mend those fences. I hope it happens, I hope they all pour glasses of scotch and sit back and talk about how they were "young and dumb" (even though they weren't young or dumb) and I hope everyone is in a better place.

It's unlikely, but one day I hope Rich Rod, Carr, Hoke, Harbaugh, Moeller and everyone else can just hug, laugh, and be part of the same fraternity. Just like the press conference on Tuesday. Wouldn't that be cool? Wouldn't you tear up a little bit? Especially if Harbaugh has his national championship, Rich Rod has Arizona or wherever he is humming and Hoke is having some success wherever he is? That would be an awesome picture. I'd buy it.

Too bad it's a dream. But then again...so was hiring Harbaugh.

But seriously I belive Harbaugh was just mentioning the coaches he had a personal relationship with, and did not mean it as an intentional slight. He has probably met Rich Rod maybe once in his life if ever.
