There may be more good jobs available or coming available than thought. We know: Michigan, Nebraska and Florida
Thoughts on others that may become open:
Notre Dame: BK may voluntarily leave now for nfl. Or even Nebraska. Even he may be easier to deal with than pellini was.
Mississippi State: Not a big time program in my book, but Mullen is almost certainly gone.
Mississippi: If fla hires their coach.
Arizona: as with Mullen, this may be RRs opportunity to take a big time program on. He's unlikely to improve on this season, and Fla could come calling. Probably one of the few places he'd jump for now given his recruiting preferences.
Oklahoma: Will Stoops stick around? Will he be offered jobs at Michigan, Florida, or Notre Dame?
Alabama: is it possible that after winning the championship Saban moves on? Rumors that Alabama fan base has become complacent and that sabans may be ready to move along. If so is it retirement or a new challenge?

I do not want ND to come open. We're already competing with Nebraska and Florida.

Don't even worry about that. This is the best place on Earth. All the top coaches know that takign the Michigan job is an excellent career move.

Because Brandon and Hoke were good friends and Brandon sold Hoke on the Michigan Man meme to the university. The only one asked was JH and he told Brandon he was on his way to the NFL. So Brandon got his man even though he did not have the resume to be our coach.

There have been a few articles suggesting he might like to find a new job. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if it's just his agent spreading rumors in order to get more money out of Oklahoma.
November 30th, 2014 at 9:35 PM ^
Those articles were just some "reporters" quoting themselves. They said that in their opinion, Stoops should perhaps look at moving on so as not to get stale. Then they made articles about it.
That's it. No sources, nobody said anything, there were not even any rumors. Just a couple of guys thinking out loud and then writing it down.

Bama boosters paid Saban's house off. I think its safe to say they want him.

Saban is not coming here. Belichick is also not coming here. Only the best don't come here.
Last year I didn't go to Hawaii. This year I'm not going to Tahiti. I can't wait to not go to Bora Bora.

I'm suggesting the fans don't want him. They do. Who wouldn't? I think its an issue of expectations. Taking things for granted. Complacency. As for the mortgage, I don't think it's absence is likely to deter any interest he might have to seek another challenge.

Don't want to start a new thread for it, so a CC Carousel thread is as good as any for this. Just read on ProFootball Talk just posted this article: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/11/30/report-jets-raiders-are-expected-to-inquire-about-harbaugh/
According to Glazer and Schefter are both saying that Harbaugh is only leaving the 49ers via trade.
I suppose that only applies if he wants to coach another NFL team. I believe he could leave the NFL with a year left on his deal and return to the NCAA..
EDIT: just noticed this was the crux of the OP in the Harbaugh Watch: Day One thread. Sorry for posting already posted posts, man.

There is nothing to prevent Jimmy from leaving SF for NCAA while under contract, aside from a buyout (if there is one).
November 30th, 2014 at 12:51 PM ^
I thought so. This plays into our favor then, unless he's really interested in one of those teams that's willing to trade for him.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:57 PM ^
49ers would be perfectly fine if Harbaugh left for Michigan, because it would mean they don't have to pay him anything.
November 30th, 2014 at 1:34 PM ^
And the fact that he is more interested in coaching professionals than coaching 18-23 year olds.
If you think Jim Harbaugh is okay with the fact that John is the only one in the family with a Super Bowl ring, you don't understand what kind of competitor he is.

I happen to be pulling for Stitt if Captain Comeback says no.
We need a Bo or John Beilein type hire not a retread.

It has to be infinitely easier to recruit kids to Arizona than it was to get them to WVU.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:52 PM ^
RR's #1 concern right now should be his coaching legacy; he has all the money he needs, and he has coached at his alma mater. AZ is a great place to live, and if he continues his trajectory, he will retire with a statue outside of stadium. Plus, Greg Byrne has to be a huge upgrade over Ed Pastilong, Bill Martin, or Dave Brandon; and we all know that having a quality boss is a huge factor in one's employment situation.
November 30th, 2014 at 8:09 PM ^
Ding ding ding.
RR would be crazy to leave AZ. It's the perfect spot for him.

It just works out probably to do it on Monday. I don't see anyone Hoke is kept around, ultimately the dagger being fans wouldn't fill the stadium if he stays and the value of ticket prices lower even more.
November 30th, 2014 at 1:26 PM ^
I'm betting Michigan will handle it in a very professional and respectful way.

it's about doing what's right for the program which is fire Hoke ASAP. The longer they keep Hoke around until a certain date or Jan 1, the worse it looks for Michigan.
