49ers owner: "performance tonight was unacceptable
Kind of an odd tweet for an owner. If it looks like the playoffs are not in the cards, given some of the bad blood, could the 49ers possibly fire Harbaugh before the end of the season? Doubtful, but that tweet probably won't sit well with him.
Couple this with what might be a big loss in 36 hours, and perhaps the stars are aligning?
Note: apologies for creating two threads in one hour relating to the cc. The first was more of an open thread to discuss and speculate, but I felt that this was thread-worthy on its own. If the mods feel differently, please delete, delete this one or consolidate both.

...another shot at the NFL. And I hear there might be an opening in San Francisco soon!

from a rational standpoint, why in the world would Harbaugh want to come here? the program is a complete and utter disaster, the massive amount of politics involved with the job are unlike anywhere else, and he'll receive as much money if not more from any NFL team. so please tell me, what about this job would be enticing to him outside of the fact that he used to play here?
He's already trashed the University so it's not like he has some undying love for Michigan like Hoke has. so what else about this job would even be somewhat appealing?

The last time Jed York offered up words like that, Mike Singletary wasn't the head coach much longer. Not saying this is exactly the same...

The interface for modding, which is just an enhanced version of what other users have available (we have read/write access to all comments, diaries, threads, etc...), sadly doesn't allow for something like that, but I actually do agree that it would be nice for purposes of maintaining some cohesion in comment chains. When you cave a user, their comments disappear but the replies remain, which is why - at least I do this - try to delete the entire chain inside a thread to prevent things from getting out of context.

How about inserting something like "This is the first reply to a mod-removed comment." Simple, easy, helpful.

I don't want to sound like I'm going on an old fart rant (because I'm not, I'm only 20) but it's the parents AND the kids. Or more like the kids are the product of the parents.
And don't tell me it's not any different than it was because it is. Parents are just not as tough on their kids as they used to be and I see it all the time.
Also it doesn't help that EVERYTHING gets out now because of the internet and our ability to communicate. So when people were saying ''Rich Rod uses some of the worst language I've ever heard at a practice'' and yet in Bo's took there are quotes of him saying ''You are the worst god damn lineman in the history of college football'' it's a product of the generation.

It might be a good idea to see if the faults on Harbaugh's end would be red flags for us. He's not perfect, so now might be a good idea to find the chinks in his armor since are not going well out there.

This is the job of the college AD looking into hiring JH, to talk to people that have dealt with him in the past, do some research and see if there is some sort of pattern to be concerned about.
Personally, I say hire him and let's take whatever idiosyncrasies he has and deal with them.

Idle speculation (and bad writing), but...
"The real question is whether and to what extent that opinion was influenced by anything she’s heard from her father. It’s also fair to ask whether this relatively meaningless spark will blow the lid off the relationship between Trent Baalke and coach Jim Harbaugh, who brought Roman to the 49ers from Stanford and who has plenty of influence over the currently uncoordinated offense that Roman coordinates."

Suggestion for entire Baalke family: Community Educaion course "Responsible Use of Social Media".

I'm sure Jim will be considered by NYJ, NYG and Atlanta, but if he cannot deal with well with PRO players the GM of these teams may not make any huge offers for Jim services!

for a Michigan fan. Fantastic.
Get destroyed by Seattle in Seattle, bounced from the playoffs - even better.
I'm more afraid of the Bears (or another NFL team in need of a coach) than the Niners at this point.
The real burning question in this is: did the Harbaugh's really have a tofu-turkey Thanksgiving??? Would Michigan accept such a thing???
"And we kind of thought maybe we won’t have turkey this year for Thanksgiving. So, we’re in discussion on that. We’ll have some tofu or something."
