Watching this Ole Miss/Auburn game, with everything on the line, with two teams who just look like they're REALLY good. It just makes you miss the days when you were involved in this stuff.
Win or lose. You just want the nation watching you, wishing they were you.
This is awesome stuff, I'm jealous and I want it. I want to be part of games like this.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:19 PM ^
who are excited over beating IU w/out a quarterback. Sad.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:07 PM ^
Miss St 17
Arkansas 10
November 1st, 2014 at 10:07 PM ^
Who are the best 4 teams in the country?
Based off of EYE TEST only.
This isn't how you rank teams, but just curious what the board thinks...
November 1st, 2014 at 10:10 PM ^
Oregon, FSU, Miss St, Michigan State right now but I don't think they finish that way.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:10 PM ^
FSU
Alabama
Oregon
Auburn
November 1st, 2014 at 10:13 PM ^
Based off the best chances to get to the playoff:
FSU, Oregon, SEC champ (probably Alabama) and TCU (really impressed by what Patterson has done with that team).
November 1st, 2014 at 10:18 PM ^
- Miss. State (playing like doo doo tonight, but have been the most physically impressive team I've seen)
- Auburn (solid all year - only loss against Miss State - about to beat Ole Miss)
- FSU (my god they look like crap - then just turn it on and pull out the win)
- K State (have looked extremely good all year - loss to Auburn was close)
First team out: TCU
Other thoughts:
- Bama really hasn't beaten anyone of consequence except maybe WVU.
- Oregon's O-Line is Michigan-esque and they will get trucked by a SEC D-line.
- Sparty NO!
- To Hell with ND...
November 1st, 2014 at 10:17 PM ^
Even if Ole Miss wins I think Auburn is better strictly due to their discipline over Ole Miss. Of course as I type this auburn gets a personal foul.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:19 PM ^
Bama...played terrible against Arkansas, would never have expected them to give up two TDs to Ole Miss in a 3 minute span late in the 4th...has been lights out for basically the rest of the season
Oregon...great offense now that healthy, defense has to be on the field a lot against teams trying to comeback, very unexpected home loss
FSU...overcoming A LOT of distractions for college kids, very impressive resilience (especially at Louisville Thursday)
TCU...score in bunches, still have somewhat of a Gary Patterson D...how did they blow that lead against Baylor???
November 1st, 2014 at 10:08 PM ^
November 1st, 2014 at 10:09 PM ^
That might be game in Eugene. Oregon's path to the playoffs is becoming a lot more clear.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:12 PM ^
just go down man
November 1st, 2014 at 10:12 PM ^
2 weeks in a row.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:17 PM ^
but now he's got another great chance
November 1st, 2014 at 10:20 PM ^
And it wasn't needed...but both teams have timeouts and 3 minutes is like a quarter for these two.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:14 PM ^
damn Ole Miss might have just pissed away their season.
JEEEZ, a pick 6 turns into a catch for Auburn.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:15 PM ^
Ole Miss will never have as a good a chance as they had this year.
Stanford is heading to at least a 4th loss and looking at that schedule 6 isn't out of the question.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:17 PM ^
They lost too much on defense and they really miss Gaffney.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:15 PM ^
Looking at their remaining schedule- it seems very likely that Ducks go play-off-ing
November 1st, 2014 at 10:16 PM ^
November 1st, 2014 at 10:16 PM ^
they couldn't be stopped on the run and they pass?
November 1st, 2014 at 10:17 PM ^
Well Ole Miss has 50ish yards and 3 minutes to save their season.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:18 PM ^
Miss State stuffs Arkansas on 4th down at 5 yard line with 5 minutes to go.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:18 PM ^
November 1st, 2014 at 10:19 PM ^
Bert just tried to run up the middle on a 4th and goal from the 3 yd line... I hope to god we don't try to hire him...
November 1st, 2014 at 10:21 PM ^
Sheesh.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:20 PM ^
Mr. Yost unfortunately it is not really about the 4 best teams - it is about who has the clearest paths to the playoffs. The best Big 10 and ACC team has a far easier path than a SEC or Pac 12 or Big 12 team.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:23 PM ^
Agreed. The SEC West is going to eat itself alive and even the finest ESPN grandstanding probably won't get a 2-loss team from the SEC in.
The MSU-OSU winner has a clear path, as does Oregon and FSU. They're much more likely to get to the end of the year with 1-loss than anyone in the SEC west
November 1st, 2014 at 10:26 PM ^
The MSU-OSU winner absolutely does not have a clear path. Oregon and FSU are in if they win out. TCU probably is as well unless there are 2 one loss SEC teams. The MSU/OSU winner isn't in if they win out. Not even close.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:27 PM ^
I dont know who the best 3 teams are in the SEC West but I am pretty convinced any of those would win at least 3 of other 4 conferences. I mean in most years it would be Auburn and Alabama year as LSU falls of some but with Ole Miss (bough and paid for) and Miss State rising up, its a ridiculous division.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:30 PM ^
The Big12, all the they lost both games, had some impressive performances against Bama and Auburn.
I'm more impressed by TCU winning by 1 at West Virginia than by Bama beating them by 10 on a "neutral" field.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:24 PM ^
That's why I didn't want to ask who people thought would make it...because you'd need to see all of the schedules to make an informed decision.
I just wanted to know, based off the eye test, who people actually thought were the best.
I'm surprised Alabama isn't mentioned a little more...they've been rolling as of late. I haven't given my own question any thought yet, but they look pretty good right now.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:29 PM ^
One could make a case its Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Miss State. Oregon is vulnerable and FSU is not as good as last year. TCU doesnt have the athletes these 4 teams have. MSU is not as good as last year. Who does that leave? KSU lost at home to Auburn. I'm out of teams.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:21 PM ^
Biffed wide open 3rd down conversion, 15 yd penalty on ensuing punt, then defensive holding.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:22 PM ^
November 1st, 2014 at 10:22 PM ^
Don't look now but ND's in a dogfight with Navy - it's 28-24 midway through the 3rd.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:23 PM ^
ND struggling again against a bad team. Up 28-24 on Navy in the 3rd. You can't keep doing that and expect not to lose one of these games against teams you should easily put away.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:24 PM ^
K-St. hammering Ok St. 28-7. Massive game between against TCU next week. If TCU wins they will have a clear path to the playoff.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:25 PM ^
Bill Snyder is a fucking wizard
November 1st, 2014 at 10:24 PM ^
Treadwell is a fucking man but that did not look good
November 1st, 2014 at 10:24 PM ^
Ole Miss scores but lost Treadwell it looks like
November 1st, 2014 at 10:24 PM ^
Treadwell...no.That looked horrible.
November 1st, 2014 at 10:25 PM ^
Yikes... Treadwell is not a pretzel....
November 1st, 2014 at 10:25 PM ^
That looked bad for Treadwell. Literally bent over backward
