Watching this Ole Miss/Auburn game, with everything on the line, with two teams who just look like they're REALLY good. It just makes you miss the days when you were involved in this stuff.

Win or lose. You just want the nation watching you, wishing they were you.

This is awesome stuff, I'm jealous and I want it. I want to be part of games like this.

Pending results tonight:

  • Miss. State (playing like doo doo tonight, but have been the most physically impressive team I've seen)
  • Auburn (solid all year - only loss against Miss State - about to beat Ole Miss)
  • FSU (my god they look like crap - then just turn it on and pull out the win)
  • K State (have looked extremely good all year - loss to Auburn was close)

First team out: TCU

Other thoughts:

  • Bama really hasn't beaten anyone of consequence except maybe WVU.
  • Oregon's O-Line is Michigan-esque and they will get trucked by a SEC D-line.
  • Sparty NO!
  • To Hell with ND...

Bama...played terrible against Arkansas, would never have expected them to give up two TDs to Ole Miss in a 3 minute span late in the 4th...has been lights out for basically the rest of the season

Oregon...great offense now that healthy, defense has to be on the field a lot against teams trying to comeback, very unexpected home loss

FSU...overcoming A LOT of distractions for college kids, very impressive resilience (especially at Louisville Thursday)

TCU...score in bunches, still have somewhat of a Gary Patterson D...how did they blow that lead against Baylor???

Bert just tried to run up the middle on a 4th and goal from the 3 yd line... I hope to god we don't try to hire him...

Mr. Yost unfortunately it is not really about the 4 best teams - it is about who has the clearest paths to the playoffs.   The best Big 10 and ACC team has a far easier path than a SEC or Pac 12 or Big 12 team.

Agreed. The SEC West is going to eat itself alive and even the finest ESPN grandstanding probably won't get a 2-loss team from the SEC in.

The MSU-OSU winner has a clear path, as does Oregon and FSU. They're much more likely to get to the end of the year with 1-loss than anyone in the SEC west

I dont know who the best 3 teams are in the SEC West but I am pretty convinced any of those would win at least 3 of other 4 conferences.  I mean in most years it would be Auburn and Alabama year as LSU falls of some but with Ole Miss (bough and paid for) and Miss State rising up, its a ridiculous division.

That's why I didn't want to ask who people thought would make it...because you'd need to see all of the schedules to make an informed decision.

I just wanted to know, based off the eye test, who people actually thought were the best.

I'm surprised Alabama isn't mentioned a little more...they've been rolling as of late. I haven't given my own question any thought yet, but they look pretty good right now.

One could make a case its Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Miss State.  Oregon is vulnerable and FSU is not as good as last year.  TCU doesnt have the athletes these 4 teams have.  MSU is not as good as last year.  Who does that leave?  KSU lost at home to Auburn.  I'm out of teams.

ND struggling again against a bad team.  Up 28-24 on Navy in the 3rd.  You can't keep doing that and expect not to lose one of these games against teams you should easily put away.
