ESPN credits Mgoblog with rally tonight
Great job guys. We've gone viral, and i guarantee this gets the wheels in motion. Kudos to all of you!
Some reason I can't hyperlink, so here it is:http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11619074

that, but if they ask 5 people what they are protesting they are going to get 5 different answers. "Hoke did not take Morris out!!" "No good coaches will come here while Brandon is here!" "Brandon lied in his statement regarding Morris' injury." And then you will have the honest guy-"I am just here because we got blown out by Minnesota."
I have a great idea. Turn this into a "beat Rutgers" rally. At least it would be of some benefit to the program, however remote.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:28 PM ^
But if there are 5 good reasons...
September 30th, 2014 at 4:22 PM ^
poor management now, and for that Dave Brandon deserves all the criticism he gets.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:23 PM ^
September 30th, 2014 at 5:17 PM ^
Agreed. But this mother down with fire. Doesn't matter what kind of fire as long as its hot and burns. People in the area should show up even if they don't really care either way. Just stand there and check email or something. The numbers are going to matter.
September 30th, 2014 at 6:48 PM ^
A kickstarter to fund Brandon's buyout might put it in perspective. This is all much easier said than done (and cheaper).
September 30th, 2014 at 5:21 PM ^
I want to see smart Michigan students taking control of what belongs to them. This is OUR FUCKING UNIVERSITY, not Dave Brandon's, and the sooner that the Powers That Be understand that, the better.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:14 PM ^
God, people better show up to that. Gonna look like even bigger fools if there isn't a good turnout.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:21 PM ^
We, the people will look like fools? Have you forgotten who the AD and the J. Ira Head Coach are?

I will be there, so you can count on at least 1.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:37 PM ^
The only thing worse than a "Fire Him" rally would be one where nobody shows up.
"We are here live at what was supposed to be a rally of angry Michigan fans demanding action in their athletic department but either they are not that angry or they have changed their mind."
September 30th, 2014 at 4:15 PM ^
This is because the MLive Story cited MGoBlog as its source.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:37 PM ^
For those interested, here's the MLive story - LINK
"In the midst of the controversy, members of the popular fan message board mgoblog.com have planned a "Fire Dave Brandon Rally" for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Diag on U-M's central campus"
It references the initial thread and some of the comments as well.
The Central Student Government meeting is tonight too. Kind of interested to see if they have an official statement as well.

I really wish the writer would have credited Carlos Spicyweiner instead of "One commenter."

If 7000+ people have already signed the petition, I have a feeling this is going to be a thing.
Real talk: is it illegal to carry a pitchfork onto the Diag?
September 30th, 2014 at 4:23 PM ^
but if the Hash Bash is anything to go by, you shouldn't have any problems with a torch.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:32 PM ^
it isn't concealed.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:58 PM ^
it would likely be "illegal", in that DPS would be justified in removing one's pitchfork, and likely, the bearer of said pitchfork, from the Diag.
If you take a look at the University's Standard Practice Guide Policies sections on "Violence" and "Weapons", both include language that would:
(a) allow a pitchfork to be arguably classified as a weapon (See http://spg.umich.edu/policy/201.94), and/or
(b) allow one bearing a pitchfork to be characterized as engaging in threatening behavior (See http://spg.umich.edu/policy/601.18)
If you want to bring a pitchfork and be sure that you're not going to get arrested or have it confiscated, make one out of cardboard or papier-mache.
This is not intended to be legal advice to any younger wolverines out there, and I'm not saying whether there is a good likelihood that you'd be charged or that any charges would be prosecuted successfully; in a sense, that doesn't even matter, because all they really want to do in that situation is remove you and/or the pitchfork from the Diag, and they'll be able to do it based on these policies... whether you are deemed to have violated the policies a few months later is somewhat immaterial.

You bet we all up in this bitch. We rockn' our swag and takin their women. Give credit where credit do. Respect get respect.

Confession: Sometimes I forget I'm not on MGoBlog and I say something smart assed to my wife or boss as if I was.

Pregaming it now.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:17 PM ^
"It" being the fire Dave Brandon rally.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:22 PM ^
This rally ought to be mandatory for all IFC pledges.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:27 PM ^
September 30th, 2014 at 4:31 PM ^
So this means you are going to miss the first 15 minutes of it but still expect to have your space in the crowd reserved when you finally do show up?

Heyyyyoooooooooooooo

Brian Cook for Regent. Seriously.

Dude lettered exactly one year and thinks he was a vital piece of Bo's teams. When he was on that 1973 Michigan-Ohio State doc on BTN, he was acting like he wasn't a career pine rider.
I actually have a lot of those cards from back in the day. They were called the Lettermen series.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:33 PM ^
They look so cute and harmless when they're young.
September 30th, 2014 at 4:34 PM ^
As a player, he was pretty cute and harmless. Hence why he played exactly one play in four years.

Joey Galloway: "Hoke did nothing wrong."
:(
September 30th, 2014 at 4:36 PM ^
Dumb person is dumb.
September 30th, 2014 at 5:25 PM ^
Joey Galloway is an idiot, right? I don't know much about him, but did I pick up on that correctly?
He really just doesn't get it. It's not about Hoke needing to personally evaluate the health of the player. But correct if I'm wrong, doesn't it fall on the coach to be aware of what is happening to his players on the field and to get them off the field if their health and well-being is in question/jeopardy? It's just so fitting that accountability is such a popular term for Hoke to throw around.
