Adidas confirmed that the helmet, at least, is not happening.

this ever be considered:

Trivia: Michigan helmets are not blue with yellow wings painted on them. They are actually yellow with blue painted around the outline of the wings.
So beware: it would be real easy for the AD to do something like this. Easier than the actual Michigan helmet itself.

Just looks like a Photoshop filter gone wrong/overzealous. There's all sorts of weird going on in that thing.
September 2nd, 2014 at 10:17 AM ^
But the pants are pretty clearly Zubaz. So I wouldn't worry about it.
September 2nd, 2014 at 10:50 AM ^
Rockin' these for the notre dame game, or maybe UTL?

Everyone go get a pitch fork and/or torch and meet me on State Street.

Saw this on twitter and quoted it and told them to S my D. They deleted the photo a few minutes later.
I'd like to think I made someone delete the tweet.

this bullshit cannot be tolerated and they need to know that. . .
September 1st, 2014 at 8:02 PM ^
Those cannot actually be happening, right?
September 1st, 2014 at 8:03 PM ^
If we wear these uniforms I'll eat a lemo.... wait a second.

No, they arent. its a layer over the bottom of the picture to give it extra dimension. learn to photoshop.
The uniform rage is so obnoxious.
September 1st, 2014 at 8:34 PM ^
And look at the helmet... If that doesn't make you rage then go hang out on a Sparty board.
September 1st, 2014 at 9:20 PM ^
Ill rage out when its on the field. Just like any rational human being.
Edit: As posted below "photoshop error". You gunna calm the fuck down yet?

Wouldn't be the first time Adidas sprung something goofy at a moment's notice.
And you have to bet they'll want something flashy to unleash in South Bend to steal some thunder from ND for switching to UA.
Such is the absurdity of modern apparel contracts and corporate jealousy.

Does addidas just drop these uniforms off and say "Here you go. Don't like it? Swim in this money pool until you do." Is there anybody in the athletic department who can step up and say "Ummm...no, we'll stick to the best unifrom in sports, thanks." I know our current AD Lord Business won't do that.
It is my understanding that Michigan gets paid by the apparel company for the right to sell UMs logo/copywright/trademark. Why does UM put up with bullshit? They hold all the cards. I'm sure there is a bidding war for UM everytime a contract is up. So why is the manufacturer's logo front and center on the jersey?
Seriously, FRONT AND CENTER ON THE JERSEY! This is not accepptable to me.

Don't like it? Swim in this money pool until you do.
Brilliant.

to adidas. Other than the money, that was the big difference with what Nike had proposed in 2007. Nike didn't want to give UM the right to say no to what they came up with. UM folks have actually been involved with adidas in designing most of the alternate unis the last few years. Jake Ryan's non-reaction to the UTL3 unis, which some folks trumpeted as meaning he didn't like them, turned out to be him wanting to see how others reacted...because he helped design them.

blue compression shirt and the clowniforms would have been tolerable. Throw in blue or maize pants, and they would have been OK. If we had managed to beat MSU in the last seconds of the game, then we'd all love them.

Thanks. This made me laugh for five minutes straight.

It was a terrible photoshop. Adidas apologized.
Adidas has confirmed that the yellow Michigan helmet was a photoshop error: https://t.co/PhiJGWTz3b

As 'Shirtless said, this is definitely a mistake.
The official adidas account apologized yesterday about it. I asked someone whether I should flip the PANIC /doom switch on MGoBlog to "up". I nearly posted the thread about it but wanted to clear it first since that would be the first time Michigan would wear a non-winged helmet since the mid-30s.

Why can't we get this? Instead of the bumblebee sleeved-version?
September 2nd, 2014 at 1:00 AM ^
How about never bring these back again?
In what world is the above uniform an improvement on the standard road uniforms? Maize + Blue = awesome. Maize + Blue + White = cool. WHITE + WHITE + WHITE + maize + blue = not awesome.
Those allwhites look like a poor high school team with a cool helmet.

calm down. road uniforms have been changed dozen of times, no big thing. but the one i always really liked is the ones from the late 90s, early 2000s. the m on the sleeve, with the numbers up on the pads with maize and blue striping on the neckline and sleeves. i hated that they ever changed those. very classic looking.
