SB Open Thread vs SDSU

Submitted by MGoSoftball on

Team 37 plays SDSU tonight in the elimination game tonight on ESPNU.  Haylie will get the ball as she is pitching very well currently.  She had one bad pitch against ASU and a tough error from Romo which led to a 4-1 loss.

We have to get the bats hot.  Haylie looks like she is all good so the bats need to pick up so that we can play tomorrow.  We will need to win twice tomorrow.

EDIT:  Betsa Pitching

Go Blue!!!

Romo will shatter all M hitting records. Let's close this out and have a perfect day tomorrow!

Romero has tied Samantha Findlay in career grand slams at 7.

Michigan is 74-2 all-time when hitting a grand slam.

Football is 1,200 +. That photo isn't the revised edition.

I've decided to split off the statistical records off into their own book so I can expand them. I also have a recruiting history book for Football.

The whole idea of my SuperGuides began in 2007 when I was 12. I began writing out the scores vs a certain opponent & conferences on paper so I could get a whole view instead of thumbing through my media guide & putting it together mentally.

I remember at least 75% of things from Football when it comes to records since I've typed or penned it out a million times.

The Baseball one is hell on Earth since Michigan does a horrific job putting complete information about the history of their oldest sport online. I've already registered and planned a few trips to Bentley to do research through the sea of files I know for a fact they have.

stop drinking for the night, I thoght you wrote "sea of flies" when I first read your last sentence.

Now i'm wondering if it was your parents that gave you your nickname "WD".  It would'nt surprise me if they did, with all that time you spend on your addiction.  No wonder you don't got time for the prom and girls and all that mushy stuff.

There is a pro league, but no one would ever declare early. The degree is worth so much more. So I would not worry about the pros. However, players can transfer without sitting out a year. So she could in theory transfer wherever she likes. Alex Hugo for Georgia is the best example of this. I wouldn't worry about that either because we are Michigan fergodsakes.

what a great game.  This team needs an identity.  If we played like this earlier, then we would be traveling to Tallahassee next weekend.  Now we have to continue this effort tomorrow.

Great win, although a few too many base-runners.  For Betsa to really become an elite pitcher, she'll have to cut those down.  I have total faith that that'll happen, and it's great that she's getting a (very hands-on) apprenticeship this & next year, without too much pressure right away.

Also, is it wrong that I'm watching Romo's batting average (hovering right around .500 for the season) with as much anxiety as I am the results as a whole?

MGoBlue now has the video recap of the game here:

I still dislike that they will not let people direct embed video from the site, but oh well.

Here's the boxscore for those like me who get even more from the numbers - LINK
