MBB vs Nebraska - Do we Care???
Final home game. Does it exist if no one watches?
March 10th, 2024 at 12:25 PM ^
It appears not
March 10th, 2024 at 12:33 PM ^
I didn't even know they had a game today and when the notification popped up on my phone that it was starting, I just swiped it away and went about my day.
I took a nap, and dreamed of a team that knows how to shoot and play defense.

GO BLUE!!!!!!!
No. We sacrificed basketball for football to the sports gods in the Beilein years, and almost (got robbed against Louisville) won a National Title.
We clearly sacrificed basketball for football for the sports gods these past few years, as our worst ever basketball team coincided with our best modern era CFB team and a National Title.
As a UM alumnus and now fan, I have always cared a lot more about football. Basketball and hockey were always fun distractions, but Michigan football has been my religion.
I'd make this trade every year tbh.

Fire Juwan
Fire Warde
March 10th, 2024 at 12:49 PM ^
Probably needs to happen in reverse order, but yeah.
Let's get fired up!
Let’s get fired.
-Juwan and Warde
March 10th, 2024 at 12:26 PM ^
We've given up 34 points with 7 to go in the first half. 34-27.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:50 PM ^
Our defense is like a steel trap….that’s rusted open
March 10th, 2024 at 12:26 PM ^
I'm watching on TV. More of the same. Kudos to the fans who showed up this morning to support the team. I assume a lot of the men in yellow will not suit up at Crisler again.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:34 PM ^
Nuke the entire team and start over. Only takes 2 years to rebuild a basketball team into an ncaa tourney team. With the transfer portal there is potential now to completely rebuild in one season
March 10th, 2024 at 12:53 PM ^
Probably going to have to start over no matter who is the coach..why would any of these players come back if Juwan is still the coach
I know it’s been a rough season but they should at least let them wear maize.
In all seriousness I do feel for the players. This is their dream and for whatever reason it has been in the gutter this season. Hope they can learn and grow from the adversity where ever they play next season. Oh and that they are taught how to play defense. That would help.
Go Blue!
March 10th, 2024 at 12:30 PM ^
We do not.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:30 PM ^
We care.
Warde doesn't.
This does seem to be the answer to the question.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:30 PM ^
Reed is the king of posting up at the 3 pt line and then immediately turning it over.
You'd think Howard could at least teach a dude how to post up
March 10th, 2024 at 12:43 PM ^
Reed has no hands, doesn't play to his height, and is constantly it if position. Either Juwan isn't teaching him or he is unteachable. 50/50
Juwan teaches nothing but the shit works.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:45 PM ^
Add moving picks to the list of things Howard should teach, Michigan has to be leading the league in moving pick fouls
This tends to be more on the ballhandler than the player setting the pick, imo.
I agree. Regardless of who's to blame, it's a problem that happens way more than any other team I've watched
March 10th, 2024 at 12:33 PM ^
Senior day, empty Crisler
March 10th, 2024 at 12:45 PM ^
In "modern" college basketball (i.e. money-driven semipro ball), true seniors are rare anyway.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:33 PM ^
This team has evolved. They no longer wait until the second half to completely stop playing defense.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:34 PM ^
Michigan and Nebraska both have the exact same number of conference road wins (1), yet Nebrasketball is playing for a double-bye while Michigan is solidly in 14th by 4 full games.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:34 PM ^
For whatever reason, I took M+6. Thought maybe senior day would bring extra juice/motivation.
I'm dumb.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:42 PM ^
I have some prime oceanfront land in Kansas you can buy..just send me your SSN and bank acct #
March 10th, 2024 at 12:47 PM ^
That's not nice.
How much?
March 10th, 2024 at 12:36 PM ^
Oops I watched two minutes, bringing it into existence. Then went f it let’s go read mgoblog instead and think about being national champions.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:37 PM ^
God. The book on us is clearly to attack the rim. We will foul every damn time
...or let them slide to the rim uncontested.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:38 PM ^
Josiah Allick has GREAT hair, so there’s that…
March 10th, 2024 at 12:39 PM ^
I remember when I was a kid playing youth basketball, one of the first things I learned was how to box out. I can't comprehend why this team hasn't been taught that....Coaching?
March 10th, 2024 at 12:42 PM ^
No defense. No surprise. Down 50-43 at half.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:42 PM ^
This team is a AAU Organization in disguise. No structure, no leadership, all about talking trash and trying to go 1 on 1 with no concept of fundamentals.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:43 PM ^
I checked the score on ESPN while the game was underway. I believe this means I care but am unwilling to commit.
Or, to steal from the great Brady Hoke, I care, but I don’t fully care.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:44 PM ^
Who wouldn't take a 43 point first half? Sadly, we're down by 7. This is a horrendous defensive team.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:45 PM ^
On a positive note, we held Nebraska to 70% shooting in the first half.
I'm a glass half-full kinda guy.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:48 PM ^
Maybe whatever encouragement the coaches are giving them has gone to their heads - they must think they are all-stars.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:54 PM ^
Take THAT, Cornhuskers!
…we held Nebraska to 70% shooting in the first half
I reserve the use of “we” for only the positives. When it’s bad, it’s “they”. Football = We are the National Champions. Basketball = They stink. I think it helps with my confidence.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:46 PM ^
Tominaga has 23 at the half. Virtually none of his shots have been contested. I'm not a coach, but I think I would put someone on him.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:55 PM ^
It’s your OCD coming through
March 10th, 2024 at 12:59 PM ^
Aha! That's exactly what Nebraska expects. Instead, surprise 'em.
To be fair it’s kind of hard to contest his shots. He’s damn good at wriggling through traffic like Reggie Miller of olde.
March 10th, 2024 at 12:48 PM ^
This is the first year I long for an NCAA draft lottery to sublimate this into something good.
Warde, on the other hand, wants to let Juwan cook.
