Rod Moore Returns
We interrupt a (hopefully) in-progress victory over Ohio State to bring some news about the man who ended the last one.
— Rod moore 9️⃣4L (@Rodmoorejr) January 15, 2024
We are looking into the whereabouts of the three safeties that Ohio State recruited over the best safety in the state of Ohio over Rod's high school career. The man who started against Ohio State as a true freshman, played the best game by a Michigan safety in my charting history against Ohio State in 2022, and then collected the Game-winner in 2023 will be back for more in 2024. Michigan is now 1/2 on getting their #9s back.
Hot take: This is a bigger deal than the last one.

You know he is motivated to go 4-0 against osu.
January 16th, 2024 at 7:35 AM ^
Gonna good. Giggity. Gungagalunga.
January 15th, 2024 at 1:49 PM ^
The defense shouldn't miss a beat next year LFG
January 15th, 2024 at 1:50 PM ^
Rod Moore announces his return and we immediately gack up the entire lead.
January 15th, 2024 at 1:52 PM ^
"This is a bigger deal than the last one"
Meaning JJ or meaning Don?
January 15th, 2024 at 1:53 PM ^
Guessing Don - we have a stacked RB room already.
January 15th, 2024 at 1:56 PM ^
I'm thinking the Don.
January 15th, 2024 at 2:12 PM ^
Gotta be JJ otherwise it wouldn’t be a hot take.
January 15th, 2024 at 2:38 PM ^
Nor would it make sense positioned right after the 1-for-2 on retaining #9 statement.
Obviously it's about JJ. And QUITE a hawt take!
January 15th, 2024 at 3:47 PM ^
I think "last one" refers to the last post about someone returning which is the Don. There is no rational thought process that could lead someone to believe that Rod Moore is more important to the team's success than a senior JJ MCarthy.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:58 PM ^
Seth means JJ. BET!
January 15th, 2024 at 3:59 PM ^
You won’t be joining Seth on his limb, got it. The limb isn’t for everyone.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:18 PM ^
It's Dono. Seth was focused on the last post he put up for a player returning. Between the two #9s, Seth would have said: "This is bigger than the *other* one." You wouldn't say "last" in that either/or context.
January 15th, 2024 at 6:08 PM ^
Well then it’s the weakest of weak cold takes.
January 15th, 2024 at 1:55 PM ^
Hail yes!!!!!
January 15th, 2024 at 1:56 PM ^
Lights out defense… defense wins championships!!!
January 15th, 2024 at 1:56 PM ^
So who are we waiting on still?
Barner, Trente Jones, Nugent, Paige, QJ, Hinton?
January 15th, 2024 at 1:58 PM ^
Barner committed to the Senior Bowl i believe.
January 15th, 2024 at 2:17 PM ^
Committing to the Senior Bowl is non-binding for your NFL decision, it just saves your spot.
January 15th, 2024 at 2:01 PM ^
unlike that other Nugent who pooped his pants to avoid getting drafted…
January 15th, 2024 at 2:39 PM ^
Ted did WHAT?!
January 15th, 2024 at 2:19 PM ^
Looking forward to a complete summary of who’s going where and who’s coming back. In Seth we trust.
January 15th, 2024 at 1:57 PM ^
Huge news!
January 15th, 2024 at 1:59 PM ^
Now this is some dang good news. I haven’t been this happy since the Lions won a playoff game!
January 15th, 2024 at 1:59 PM ^
by my reckoning, we've got starters ID'd everywhere on D except for...2nd CB. and LB and tackle still have plenty of depth too!
O the big ?s are QB and IOL, altho the receivers group will be youngish too. Orji/Edwards running and throwing and catching with Kalel leading the rest of the bigger backs will make the offense fun and goofy while the D is just killing it. IOL has some experience too, I trust it'll be pretty good.
RUN IT BACK. BEAT OHIO. BEAT GEORGIA. LFG!
January 15th, 2024 at 2:02 PM ^
That is a HOT take, Seth. Not sure if I can fully agree with that. Having JJ back (although I get it, the best QB record of the modern era intact) for his senior year would have been huge.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:08 PM ^
Too hot to handle. Getting JJ back would have stabilized the most important position in the sport. Regardless, I am pumped to get Moore back. That D is going to be elite again next year!
January 15th, 2024 at 4:46 PM ^
Pretty sure he meant it in reference to the last guy that announced he was returning, Edwards. Hard to believe he thinks getting Rod Moore back is a bigger deal than if JJ returned.
January 15th, 2024 at 2:04 PM ^
Seth when you say this is a bigger deal than getting the last one back, do you mean the other number 9 (JJ) or Donovan Edwards?
January 15th, 2024 at 2:06 PM ^
Great news.
I interpret Seth's hot take as a reference to Edwards' announcement. If so, I understand the sentiment. I'm not prepared to contest the take; I'm just excited to have both of them back.
Edwards may not have put himself in the same conversation as Barry Sanders and Walter Payton this year, but he has at least put himself in the same conversation as Robert Horry.
January 15th, 2024 at 2:16 PM ^
What discussion included The Don and Robert Horry?
-Mr. Literal
January 15th, 2024 at 2:31 PM ^
I guess it's the discussion I just started. Hard to compare Edwards' runs in the OSU and Washington games with big shots in basketball, but it's the closest thing I can think of.
January 15th, 2024 at 2:27 PM ^
A take so hot it's HAWT.
January 15th, 2024 at 2:58 PM ^
Who knows how the offense will ultimately look.
But the defense is going to be absolutely stacked.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:24 PM ^
GIVE ME YOUR HAWWTEST TAKEZ!!!!
January 15th, 2024 at 3:58 PM ^
Orji, Edwards, and Mullings all start and we run that 3-QB single-wing Princeton used a decade or so back.
January 15th, 2024 at 5:56 PM ^
Waterworld was actually a somewhat enjoyable movie.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:26 PM ^
Legend.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:30 PM ^
Does he slide down to the hybrid db/safety/lb role this year to replace Sainristil? Seems like the best way to sell him on increasing his draft stock and getting QJ and Paige to come back
January 15th, 2024 at 5:55 PM ^
I’d say McBurrows has that locked up. We need Moore where he is anyway.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:46 PM ^
The champion wants to be 4-0 vs his home state Buckeyes. Love it.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:47 PM ^
Hottest of takes there. I’m voting for Moore as captain right now
January 15th, 2024 at 4:12 PM ^
Awesome news!
January 15th, 2024 at 5:03 PM ^
I suspect we have a Captain here.
January 15th, 2024 at 5:54 PM ^
I'm glad he's back. He's a great player and will be invaluable for us next year. But if you think he is a "bigger deal" than getting JJ back, not sure what you're smoking.
