I'm kinda tired of people saying this. This isn't the Michigan Method. We brought back guys who are mid to late round draft picks for one more year. OSU has brought back ~5 guys who were projected late 1st or early 2nd rounders against their own best interest. Either these kids are getting bad advice, the NIL is really coming in, or Ryan Day is desperate

This is actually funny how much of a deal they are making out of all of these guys "coming back." They are literally trying to copy Michigan again lol

"This team is tough!" LOL

I hope we beat them again so they will have to find ANOTHER excuse.

Ohio State is on a good run of keeping their players right now, but isn't it kind of a weird indictment that a program recruiting like anOSU needed to portal in both QB1 and RB1 this offseason?  I find that a bit odd given their recruiting level for many years.

I don't have specifics to base this on but I would not be surprised to see Day decide that being "soft" was the problem and that being "tough" will fix it, but instead of being tough he just ends up being hard on his players without all the rest of the trust building that comes with it.

Unless Day changes things up completely, they must be hoping to win with defense.  I don’t envision their transfer QB turning into another Stroud.  If their backups had that potential, they would not have been trolling the portal for a QB either.  Also JTT is a good player, but the guy has gotten more hype based on one super game than anyone I can recall.

OSU is writing some enormous checks this year.  It's one thing to keep a 2nd or 3rd round guy.  Keeping a 1st rounder likely requires 1st round money.  That's a year a kid doesn't get back.

EDIT:  Might not have been a 1st rounder... projects lower than what I had assumed.

Who cares have you seen him say,"this my SHI!!!"  In the first half just to say,"oh SHI!"  In the second half after the victory formation?  We love JT!!!  Just Try, Junk Trunk, Jealous TRIPE, Jelly Tubby!!!  Get em, JT!!!

Is it helpful to bring back a whole bunch of guys who have lost to Michigan two or three times?

I guess they can show the recruits how to do it.

They are going to be good.  We are going to be good.  It's the way it should be.

They also have all the pressure in the world.  Let's see how their culture handles it.

Darn.  OSU is probably going to have the best defense in the nation next year.  They haven't rotated in young guys so the year after that will probably be a bigger than expected drop off, but they are pushing all the chips in for next year.  It's a good year to do that.  Easy scheduled UM and UM at home.  The QB is still the main issue; see if they go after anyone else post spring.

JTT and Jack Sawyer were two Top 50 recruits of All-Time according to 247 Sports.

And yet.. they have to return back to school for Year 4 because they were at best a fringe 1st Round Pick.

Larry Johnson everybody!

Whoa... I wonder how much Third Base asked the alumni to contribute to the NIL program?

Once again - I'm guessing the Mercedes and Lamborghini dealers are a bit happier these days.

Not sure that he is actually a top 15 pick. In any event, there will be a ton of pressure on Day to win the national championship. Beating us will be a given in their minds.

I'm a hyper draft nerd who is more than willing to stan a Buckeye in the draft process- Malik Hooker, John Hankins, JSN to name a few. He was absolutely not a top 15 pick and he'd have needed a fantastic combine to be in the first round discussion at all. If he's truly being given $1.8M this year from OSU that is the smart choice.

Well actually the smart choice was choosing a team who can actually develop pass rushers out of high school, but that ship has sailed.
