When I see someone went to Harvard Law I'm like this guy's probably an idiot.

This isn't showing up in Apple Podcasts for some reason, although it's possible the culprit is my 3 generations behind phone.
Edit: Disregard, it's up now. INTO MY VEINS

you know, as a treat.

Saw the description and immediately checked to see if this was a special 3 hour episode. I mean, we could talk all day about how the commish is an idiot. Maybe all the way into next week.

When i use the direct download link why am I hearing about the indiana Hoosiers? And then when I try to download it I download the indiana show too. Is it my phone or is it a bad link on the direct download?
It's happened to all the recent audio postings if I recall correctly. I have needed to listen on the podbean? applet.
November 9th, 2023 at 10:33 AM ^
That's weird. I just tried it and the correct episode is up. Maybe a Podbean issue of some kind?
November 9th, 2023 at 10:44 AM ^
Thanks for the quick reply Seth. Listening on any of the embedded options are fine. It's only when I use the direct download link and listen to that player or try downloading to my phone. Might just be my phone memory cache or something if I'm the only one.

Oh I got a bad link in there. I think there was an html tag that got extended and it was taking you to the general podcast feed.
Here's the download link for this episode: https://mcdn.podbean.com/mf/web/msmvg2/wtka_2023_11_09.mp3

Pettiti's an idiot. Anyone with an army of lawyers at their disposal and clearly written contracts/bylaws governing their options should not be discussing them in press leaks.
Still, within our MGoBubble it's easy to excuse the rogue staffer/everyone does it line of defense, but the mainstream press is demanding their pound of flesh. Don't read this if you have blood pressure issues, but it's what Joe Blow, non CFB fan, newspaper reader is seeing.
A slap on the wrist and a small fine would be nice, and consistent with what an SEC team might get, but I wouldn't be so sanguine about major consequences being off the table.
November 9th, 2023 at 10:43 AM ^
WaPo has clearly picked a side in this from day 1.
November 9th, 2023 at 4:37 PM ^
i am really disappointed in their coverage. the last article re-hashed the lie that Harbaugh’s contract was “rescinded,” which is not the case

within our MGoBubble it's easy to excuse the rogue staffer/everyone does it line of defense, but the mainstream press is demanding their pound of flesh.
The problem is that basically every dirtier-than-dirt institution in literally every sector of society for all of history has ALWAYS used the "rogue underling" excuse to shield the decision-makers from the consequences of their own decisions. We have an entire lexicon for it ("fall guy", "sacrificial lamb", "bad apple", "walk the plank", etc.). Michigan has this bizarre situation where (all available evidence indicates) it REALLY WAS a "rogue staffer", so of course no one believes it.
This is like if you're a student and your dog actually ate your homework. When the truth is the same as a lie that's been told a thousand times, it ain't gonna set you free.
November 9th, 2023 at 11:31 AM ^
The other thing is "everybody does it". Which feels like an automatic losing argument...but it's pretty damn relevant when nobody else is getting hammered for this, either in the past or with newer revelations that have come out recently...except for Michigan.
November 9th, 2023 at 11:55 AM ^
Well, you're right that that's an excuse no one wants to hear, but I for one wouldn't buy that from Michigan, either. Because I don't necessarily accept that even something that's legal is right. Laws change because many laws are bad. Or don't exist yet, and are long overdue. If Michigan does something unethical, for instance, I don't care if anyone else does it. I want them to stop.
But when it's Stalions paying buddies out of his own pocket to record games? Michigan doesn't need the "everybody does it" excuse. There are so many arguments in their favor without having to resort to that one.

It cannot be overstated how much of an idiot Petitti is.

"It's like when Ace started a website with Buckeye fans I had already blocked."
I laughed out loud.
November 9th, 2023 at 11:10 AM ^
I don't know the backstory there and I'm a little afraid to ask.
November 9th, 2023 at 10:44 AM ^
I caught the show on Facebook this morning - I enjoyed it very much. I like the video because you talk during the commercial and Ira doesn't need to bleep out Brian.
A couple of things stuck out.
Sam talked about leaving the B1G to form a super conference. Since the Stallions thing came out I have been thinking about this. Forming a league with Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas, USC, Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida, Penn State and other big money schools I forgot to mention. A marquis match up every weekend and a big TV payout that doesn't need to be shared with Northwestern, Rutgers, Purdue and Staee. The only problem is it doesn't work without Ohio and they appear to be the source of the current problem.
Seth mentioned it is all about Harbaugh and because he is winning. I'm sure it is all about Harbaugh but a lot of it is. I also don't think it is because he is winning but rather because he pushes everyone's buttons and they just don't like him.
November 9th, 2023 at 11:06 AM ^
They never liked Harbaugh, he always annoyed everyone. But that was tolerable to people when he wasn't winning championships. Now he's annoying AND winning championships which makes him absolutely intolerable.
Personally, I'm enjoying how miserable the opposing teams and fanbases are around all this.
November 9th, 2023 at 10:54 AM ^
I could never take anybody named PEE-TITTY seriously
November 9th, 2023 at 11:01 AM ^
I don't believe it likely that PJ Fleck was screaming indignation. He has repeatedly downplayed signs in favor of the narrative this is flat the best team he has seen in 15 years.

Harvard has lately been really on a shit streak with their alums showing up everywhere in the news for making spectacular messes of everything.
Harvard was considered the creme de la creme of academia when I was growing up, but hoo boy have times changed. These days whenever a Harvard grad makes the news, it's not because they changed the world for the better, it's because they're a spectacularly stupid idiot put in a leadership position due to connections.

Or because they squatted in an Airbnb for a year and a half, leaving it in a deplorable state after they were finally forced out...

Can Michigan remove ALL B1G logos from everything? Jerseys, athletic fields, courts, etc or are they required to have them per B1G rules?
November 9th, 2023 at 8:46 PM ^
I'm sure they're contractually obligated to have B1G logos on everything. But maybe the logos on the field get accidentally scuffed up before the OSU game? And maybe the patches on the jerseys accidentally came off in the wash? 🤷♂️
