It is a streaming service similar to Netflix. I get it included with Xfinity.
August 28th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
Really? Because I don't get it free anymore. They dropped it earlier this year, IIRC.
August 28th, 2023 at 8:40 PM ^
Same. But then after ignoring repeated discounts, I got an email basically saying, "ah, screw it, you can have Peacock back..." Now I have another year or something for free with my Xfinity subscription.

Do you mean Quentin Johnson?
August 29th, 2023 at 9:12 AM ^
You must be a diamond or platinum level rewards member with Xfinity. They get the standard Peacock subscription (ironically dubbed Peacock Premium) for free.
August 28th, 2023 at 9:58 PM ^
Looks like some folks got to keep the free subscription: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/peacock-subscription-faqs
August 28th, 2023 at 10:40 PM ^
I had never signed up for their rewards program. So I did, been a cable subscriber long enough to get top tier, and selected Peacock Premium. Waiting on the email.
August 28th, 2023 at 8:27 PM ^
You should be able to watch it on TV, tablet, phone, etc.
August 28th, 2023 at 8:30 PM ^
Peacock can be had for $20 for the year:
or $1.99 per month if you're a student.
August 28th, 2023 at 8:42 PM ^
That offer seems to have expired; it's from April.
It's about $6/mo right now so if you only use it for this game you're probably good either way.
August 28th, 2023 at 9:48 PM ^
If you buy Peacock for a month you'll get the added bonus of An Ohio State University vs Notre Dame on 9/23.
August 29th, 2023 at 6:29 AM ^
Or you can just watch that game on NBC like everyone else...
August 29th, 2023 at 9:25 AM ^
Everyone else? It's no longer the 1990s, not sure its accurate to say everyone has access to the old local broadcast channels.
August 30th, 2023 at 12:21 AM ^
Who doesn't have NBC?
If you have YouTubeTV or Hulu Live or damn near any cable substitute...you have NBC.
August 29th, 2023 at 2:14 PM ^

They re-offered it a couple weeks ago, so I thought it was still available. My bad.
August 28th, 2023 at 10:41 PM ^
It looks like you can still get the $20 annual promo

Looks like that's dead. I get this when I try that code.
August 29th, 2023 at 11:15 AM ^
Yeah, I had the same problem. I eventually subscribed for $6/month and went to cancel and then they offered me $2.50/month for 3 months to keep it. Fyi.

August 28th, 2023 at 9:00 PM ^
It's like Netflix so stream to TV or phone is my understanding.
What stinks is it will be hard to flip to another game on commercial as you have to log in and out of apps.
Supposedly bars will be allowed to have Peacock on.
August 28th, 2023 at 9:14 PM ^
If you have a Chromecast, you can cast it from your phone, then just switch your input to the port your Chromecast is plugged into, and that's pretty much as easy as switching channels. If you don't have one, you can get one for like $30.
August 28th, 2023 at 9:17 PM ^
And if free trials are your thing, you could buy the Chromecast on Amazon and return it after the game.
August 29th, 2023 at 8:54 AM ^
I'm super confused. This streaming stuff allows me to watch stuff whenever I choose. I had a few minutes, this morning, and tried to watch the ECU game. It doesn't appear to be loaded, yet. I paid $6 and I don't even get to let people know that I am better than them by being able to see the game early?! So dumb.
August 28th, 2023 at 9:27 PM ^
Agreed that it stinks. I will probably have Peacock streaming to my TV and then other games pulled up on my computer and/or iPad.
August 28th, 2023 at 9:15 PM ^
I don’t know but I’m watching a replay of the Michigan Ohio State game on fox right now and it’s glorious.
August 29th, 2023 at 1:16 AM ^
How did that game end?
August 29th, 2023 at 8:21 AM ^
It had a happy ending.
August 28th, 2023 at 9:16 PM ^
Just a tip the below code makes it from $6/month to $2.50/month. I just did it for the football season
NTSEL3HMWTDP54N
Also for those with an Amex Platinum - it can be bundled within your $240 digital credit so is essentially free

You, sir, are a fine gentleman that just saved me $3.50 since I was already planning on subscribing before the game and cancelling before the next billing cycle. I salute you.

August 28th, 2023 at 9:20 PM ^
old guy here, can we get it if we have BTn?
August 28th, 2023 at 9:25 PM ^
I'm not aware of any package deal. This isn't a conference game either. It's just like Netflix but for NBC. Sign up online and you can watch on smart TV / app / browser, etc
August 28th, 2023 at 9:28 PM ^
Old cynical guy here, NO!
If the Big 10 breaks up games across Fox, NBC, ESPN, Amazon, B10, and more, then we fans have to subscribe to every subscription service and will end up paying more than the original cable bundle.
SVOD profits. B10 gets bigger bids and makes more profit. Fans get screwed. Pac12 gets the shaft. Etc…
August 28th, 2023 at 11:10 PM ^
I'm pretty sure I'm coming out ahead compared to cable for 12 months a year.
August 28th, 2023 at 9:24 PM ^
It's streaming. I opened up an account yesterday for $2.99 a month. I'll cancel it as soon as the game ends
