(Basketball Snowflakes) [title edited]
Beat Indiana in Assembly Hall. That’s all I got.
Football School
Just everyone go get your move in at https://collegefootballrisk.com/
You've got just under 40 minutes.
We're a little behind pace tonight, probably due to the game.
Let's solve our fan problems with [virtual] aggression.
And a school school when football is down
Risk school.
not even...
Damn, that was a crushing loss
Yeah, it was hard to watch. So many high points, so many crushing ones, ended up being one huge crushing blow.
Yup. We were one stop from probably sealing it in OT which makes it hurt all the more
Michigan corners the market on these types of losses so we all should be used to it across all sports.
Game was a microchasm of the season.
Terrified Kobe will leap up in the draft boards while never starting a game in the NCAA Tourney at Michigan. Hopefully he and Jett stay (with Jett learning rebounding and defense)
They closed strong in regulation. This would have changed that narrative if we didn’t cough up that lead in OT, smh
But we did cough up a 7 point lead with two minutes. 90% chance to win at that point. crushing.
If they just dribble the shot clock out and make the opposition score on a post-deadball set defense on their final 3 or 4 possessions against Illinois and Iowa, it's probably two wins. Blowing 7 pt leads is hard to do without any 1&1 shenanigans.
A microgasm, even.
Gotta think if they end up not making the tourney it's gonna be tougher for them to leave. To play college and never even play in the dance? That would be tough. Bufkin especially needs to demonstrate he's got more juice because he doesn't have the size/athleticism combo Jett has that makes NBA teams salivate. Needs to show he can be Jordan Poole lite at least. They have the exact same body. Bufkin needs the moxie. Took a big step in that area between last year and this year but needs more.
Kobe go get the damn ball that was your game!
It's spelled microcosm, but chasm seems somehow more appropriate in this context.
We're used to it by now.
That shot was a wet fart
It was a bad shot but it wouldn't have been necessary if we didn't made such a stupid shot at the end of the 1st OT.
Game TIED, shot clock off and we set up for a 3-pointer? WHY?
With enough time for Illinois to potentially get a layup on the other end. He really didn't understand where the clock was on either shot.
In basketball these days nothing is worse than a shot at the end of a tied game. Eventually its going to just be players holding the ball at half court and throwing it over their heads in hopes of everlasting glory.
Someone needs to sit these coaches/players down and have a moneyball talk with them.
C'mon man. A shooter that can't shoot at all
Llewelyn got injured so can’t make a decision on him but getting Baker bc Michigan Admissions fucked us for Shannon will live in infamy. Worst transfer in a minute.
Just A Shooter at that.....but I swear he shit the bed in every clutch 3 pt opportunity this year
And so badly. Airballs.. AIRBALLS
Shades of Gavin Groninger
Our highest percentage three-point shooter, actually, at 39%. Just flubbed two big ones. When fans go looking for scapegoats after losses, facts aren't of so much interest.
you must be that Lindsey girl from the Daily that writes fortnightly articles about how far he's come and how good he's doing
Hunter is actually higher (I wish he'd shoot more of them) but yes, Baker is the second highest of those that have shot more than 15 on the season.
When fans go looking for scapegoats after losses, facts aren't of so much interest.
The facts are that at the critical moment of the game, when the team needed someone to step up and give them a legitimate chance to win, Baker got an open look and completely missed everything. It didn't rim out, glance off the back iron, or rattle but not fall. It hit nothing but the floor when it landed.
Now, if someone tried to put the entire blame for the loss on Baker, that would be scapegoating. But criticism for failing so badly at that critical moment? Nope, he earned that.

Penn State got the road Q1 OT victory. Michigan didn’t. That’s the difference on who’s in the tournament and who’s out.
And had a home loss on Sunday to a mid-tier B1G team, whereas Michigan won in that same spot on the same day.
Utlimately, all of Wisconsin, PSU and Michigan (edit to add Rutgers here as they lost to Minnesota!?!?) are about the same team and in about the same spot. None are in as of the moment, but they can get in even without winning the BTT. Time and opportunity is running very short though.
Sure, and they gave up a 19-point lead over Rutgers (who just lost to Minnesota!) at home. There's really no difference between any of these teams except one won their most recent game and the other lost.
At least with UM you can point to their age/lack of experience; PSU is one of the oldest, most-experienced teams in the country and they're still mediocre.
Their age and experience is what let them climb to mediocrity. I'd rather be Michigan. But I'd still rather Michigan was better at basketball right now.
Michigan is still probably ahead of PSU
Doubtful after the last couple days. They got a huge win while Michigan blew their chance.
Watching another season-saving 3 get airballed was brutal.
Should be Juwan chokes by not calling a timeout while watching your 7-1 center dribble into an offense foul from half court snowflakes . 7-0 run after that
Bingo. That play was a disaster. Completely. What kind of high school panic job was that
I was screaming for a TO there. The foul was weak as shit though
I thought it was a complete and absolute foul. If an Illini player had been dribbling towards the basket with his arm extended like that we'd be screaming for a foul 100% of the time.
Hawkins threw his head back on that. Dickinson shouldn't have been in that position, but it was a flop
The coach can't call timeout while a player is dribbling
That 0-7 run was brutal. Michigan has these spans where their minds wander off to someplace that isn't in the gym where the game is being played.
That's not on the lack of TO, it's on the center for not stopping and passing the ball (which does go back to coaching but you shouldn't have to call timeouts to keep your players from doing boneheaded things - you should coach them not to).
He hit a three in OT in the Wisconsin game. He's made big plays for us at other times.
Don't be that guy.
The whole watching audience witnessed it .
Yeah, he's been a really nice pickup on the year. 38% from three for a team that needed it. Crazy to pile on a guy for missing a shot that you want him taking.
