Satellite Camps Are Back
“Play Free Bird!”
Michigan will kick things off in its own backyard by partnering with Eastern Michigan on June 1.
U-M will then head to Big Rapids for a satellite camp at Ferris State on June 3 and Detroit for a satellite camp at Wayne State on June 7.
Of course, Michigan is set to head out of region as well. On June 1, the same date as the Eastern Michigan camp, Michigan will be represented in the Atlanta-area at the Mercer Raise The Bar mega camp — Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Northwestern are some other P5 programs slated to be in attendance.
Michigan will also stick around in Georgia and participate in the Champions Elite Camp at La Grange College on June 3-4.
Sticking with the Southeast, Michigan will partner with Florida International for its June 7 camp in Miami.
Michigan is set to participate in the Redlands Camp Series just outside of Los Angeles on June 16.
Michigan will then head to Tacoma, Washington for a satellite camp with Pacific Lutheran on June 27.
They finish up in Los Angelus and then back to Ann Arbor.

Love it...
This is something Harbaugh started and should never, ever back off of...Push harder and force others to deal. Its good for CFB period but especially the young men who play the game.
Go shirtless as well. Thats always a selling point....
Maybe Sarah, but not Jim.
/I will show myself out now
I must have missed something. Weren't these banned after SEC coaches complained about Harbaugh?
I believe that if a local school hosts and is involved, Michigan can participate as a guest and partner in that camp.
NCAA probably spent $100k writing 40 pages of rules that detail how this can be done.
I'm guessing $2500 per page would be a bargain for them.
To that point, these are also not all "Michigan and a host school" deals. The Champions Elite Camp in Valdosta GA, for example, has a ton of schools participating, including UM, Minny, Illinois, Florida, IU, GT, and Oregon.
split bar M FTW!
Dave Brandon is shaking his fist in the air yelling about "the BRAND"!!!
So, what we're saying here is that if I needed to be in or near Valdosta around that time, I should book a hotel some distance away....like, say, Paris? Brussels, maybe?
and... Harvard?
I love how Michigan is listed first .
Gotcha, thanks. Also, if anyone wants to pay me $100k to write 40 pages of sports rules, just let me know.
Unless you are Emmert's cousin, neighbor, or girlfriend you aren't qualified.
Adding to @Mike Damone's comment, I think there is also a limit on the number of camps per year.
Harbaugh's original approach turned them into a barnstorming recruiting tour. If I recall, Michigan was hosting something almost every weekend. For two summers, Michigan was the talk of college football in the heart of SEC country.
The host and number limits effectively killed that approach. Requiring local hosts forced smaller schools to face the wrath of the local SEC powerhouse if they teamed up with Michigan. And the absolute limits stopped Michigan from sucking up news coverage all summer long.
SEC coaches complained because they were worried about Harbaugh and his recruiting actions / leading to competitive advantage on the field. I don't think they are worried about that anymore.
Hugh Freeze objected because it ate into his summertime prostitution activities at Ole Miss.
To be fair, when things eat into my prostitution activities, I get rather upset myself.
I advise against eating into prostitution activities. At least not without a dental dam.
I’ll show myself out...
Freeze was working as a prostitute? You figure with DI coach money he wouldn’t need to. Maybe he really enjoys it.
Oh, wait...
Yes, those nerds, always following every rule in the book down in the SEC
Was John U Bacon consulted?
Was Ace?
Ace was consulted and blocked the entire SEC.
Stop being children
Sorry Dad.
IDK I thought Ace blocking the SEC was funny.
More importantly, was the person advising him consulted?
Did anyone ask Keith Jackson?
Something about canned gravy
When are the camps in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maine?
Every single day, including the dead period.
Great, but I am assuming Don Brown will still clean up on all the 3-star Mass. LBs.
I'm sure Harbaugh has been competing with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind the entire time, but with the staff changes, landing Clinkscale and now satellite camps it feels like momentum. Is Harbaugh back? Is he off whatever meds were toning him down? Baby steps.
Just stop with this "Is he off whatever meds were toning him down?" bull.
I'm trying to recall back to 2019, did Michigan participate in any of these new format "local host" camps after the SEC got their panties in a bunch about the satellites?
Glad to see UM back out there, these events are win-win-win for everyone involved. I'm speculating this is another early benefit of enhancing and expanding the recruiting and communications departments to be able to coordinate things like these. Love to see it, kudos!
Jim and this man in the same camp? Hold on to your butts, Washtenaw county.
When did Jim Bakker switch to college football?
When he saw Meyer, Pitino, Freeze, etc. getting all that co-ed action!
That's Chris Creighton, you silly geese.
I beg to differ.
Jim Bakker:
Chris Creighton:
Next thing you'll tell me is that the chupacabra isn't real.
Too bad Linguist got a HC job so soon, otherwise I feel they would have definitely been down in Texas for a few camps. I love the Clinkscale hire, but Linguist would have opened up Texas for Michigan recruiting.
Because he's a Bi-Linguist?
Unless they're from the Northeast, he's going to have to be a linguistic genius to talk kids into going to Buffalo!
I'm much more in favor of this than overseas trips... at least until we beat OSU.
