Rivals article on Chaundee Brown
Nice article on Chaundee, talking about what motivates him and his energy to keep winning.
Notable quote: "We try to not let the [other] team get any confidence at all," Brown said. "We want them to have the mindset that they can’t be on the same court as us."

Wow, gotta love the killer instinct!

I'm sure Juwan's pedigree is coloring this viewpoint, but this team has the feel of an NBA team in terms of level of execution.

First we take away your game, then we take your soul.

Chaundee is ferocious - his energy and passion is off the charts! What a great pickup this year!

The raw emotion and energy this kid brings is fantastic. I love the kid

If he was on another team and we were playing against him, I'd find him terrifying.

Can he come back next year? If he and Smith can, it would sure make the transition to the next batch of players easier, considering we're likely to lose our top-3 scorers.

I think the NCAA is allowing all players an extra year of eligibility. Or, more accurately, the NCAA is not counting this year towards players' 4 years of eligibility. I'm not sure how that affects scholarship limits though.

I'd be SHOCKED if he came back, he's establishing himself as a plausible 3 and D guy and if nothing else after four years in college, I think he's gone if he has a plausible option.

Since he’s got zero chance to move up to the first round this year and since you can’t put a price on the exposure playing at Michigan next year will offer him, I can certainly make a case for his return next year.

Can he play for our football team? They could use some of what he has.
January 15th, 2021 at 2:19 PM ^
Can he play DT more specifically?

Isn't this joke getting kind of old? How bout something original.....or at least positive and uplifting when it comes to our football team next year.

He looks jacked enough

If we can get Mike smith to come back next season i think that would be huge! Anyone know of his career goals? If his plan is to continue graduate program at Michigan than there’s a good chance we will come back

Chaundee with the Terminator vibes.

Can he play football?
January 15th, 2021 at 3:19 PM ^
I mean, I think of all the great football tight ends who were college basketball players... Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez... it seems vaguely plausible?
January 15th, 2021 at 5:08 PM ^
He only needs to add 30-50 pounds and he's right there, lol

I believe this mindframe comes from Juwan. Beat the other team so bad that they dread the next time they have to face us!
January 15th, 2021 at 2:00 PM ^
Awesome, that's the type of attitude and mindset we need during B1G play. Take nothing for granted

I would really like to know how much of scouting that Martelli has done, if he found both Brown and Smith... or was it Eisley or Washington...or Juwan.
Because these two couldn't be better fits than they are.

Watching him play makes me want to light myself on fire and run through a wall.
January 15th, 2021 at 3:42 PM ^
I felt the same way about the football team last year.

Touche.

Juwan thus far seems to be a very good judge of character.

Already one of my favorite players! Will be sad to see him go but I can see him being a valuable role player in the NBA

I cannot express how much I love Chaundee Brown. He's becoming one of my all time favorite Wolverines. I just love his passion and intensity, his joy for the game. He's also a damn good player. I wouldn't mind seeing him get more minutes.
January 15th, 2021 at 5:21 PM ^
Sounds like what I would expect a team coached by David Goggins to look and act like. Love it.
January 15th, 2021 at 6:17 PM ^
If you could have either Eli Brooks or Brown come back next year who would you choose?
If Smith comes back I think I'd take Brown. If Smith does not come back I'd bring back Eli to continue handling back up PG minutes.
January 15th, 2021 at 7:38 PM ^
He and Smith have been outstanding.
January 15th, 2021 at 9:13 PM ^
Landing Smith and Brown was huge. Both these guys are tired of losing. They both seem extremely motivated.
January 15th, 2021 at 9:18 PM ^
He (and Mike Smith) is a rare grad transfer who didn't transfer because they want more PT. They transferred mainly because they want to win and play for a winning program. They were willing to take on a lesser role so they can experience being in the NCAA tournament. That's one of the big reason why Michigan basketball has been so successful this season and it's a huge credit to Juwan for building his own culture in less than 2 seasons.
If given a choice between Josh Christopher and Chaundee Brown for one and done, I would take Chaundee 10 times out of 10. Josh is more talented but Chaundee is experienced and can do little things to help the team win. It ended up as a blessing in disguise.

I'm all fired up just reading that!
January 16th, 2021 at 8:53 AM ^
Woot! Woot!
I'm so happy for Brown, Smith and UofM. Transfers from Wake and Columbia, no dummies either. Intelligence, drive and an appreciation for every win.
Enjoy this year young men! And thank you for your contributions!

Whatever happens going forward, this has been (and will be) a special season. Juwan and the other coaches have done a fantastic job at constructing this roster, teaching the players, and motivating them to play at a constant high level.
Talent, roster and player development, scheme, and motivation -- the cornerstones of a winning program.
I hope recruits see what Juwan has built here in a short time. Michigan should be high on their lists!

The picture in that article is just amazing. Chaudee celebrates in front of two dejected Wisconsin players he just dunked on. The expressions on all three players are just priceless.
