Retrospective tip of the cap to Jed York
We need to eat a lot of crow for how much we mocked SF management 5 years ago.
kudos to them for seeing the dysfunction of harbaugh on wall, and cutting ties before the freefall. Only took a couple years of pain before they got right back to the super bowl
November 28th, 2020 at 5:44 PM ^
Fuck that. Jimmy was great for many years here. And was great in SF.
November 28th, 2020 at 5:51 PM ^
Damn Jed York for not keeping him!!
November 28th, 2020 at 5:53 PM ^
Ah yes, the greatness of 3 loss seasons and winless record against osu
November 28th, 2020 at 6:05 PM ^
He was never “Great” here.
November 28th, 2020 at 6:17 PM ^
Jimmy here:
- 0-5 vs OSU
- 3-3 vs MSU
- 0 B1G titles, nor even playing in the title game let alone CFP
- best road win is against #20 Northwestern
- 1-4 in bowl games
- 0-15 when Michigan is an underdog
- 2-12 vs. top 10 teams
- worst halftime deficit in Michigan stadium history & 2nd worst loss ever at home
- 4th highest paid coach in the country
"Great" doesn't mean what you think it means!
November 28th, 2020 at 6:42 PM ^
After today, you can add “losing to an 0-5 team.”
November 28th, 2020 at 7:31 PM ^
....at home no less!
November 28th, 2020 at 10:02 PM ^
I remember it like yesterday when he was hired...I was giddy as a schoolboy! I remember all the memes coming out..dantonioia crying and urban faking a heart attack! Who would of thought! Ugh!
November 28th, 2020 at 6:25 PM ^
Get him out of here. He's delusional
November 28th, 2020 at 8:16 PM ^
"Great" with Hoke recruits.
November 28th, 2020 at 8:56 PM ^
My Name is LEGIONS, got to bed. You're drunk.

Another contender jumps into the fray for worst thread of the day. This one may be a contender for at least the dumbest if not the worst.
November 28th, 2020 at 5:47 PM ^
Why are sports fans so bad at opinions
November 28th, 2020 at 8:16 PM ^
Humans are a flawed species.
November 28th, 2020 at 10:49 PM ^
The insane overreactions. McCaffrey transfers? Milton is God. Milton has a good game? Hello Heisman. Harbaugh struggling at Michigan? He's on drugs and actually we were totally wrong about Jed York.
November 28th, 2020 at 5:49 PM ^
Nah he's still a spoiled ass
November 28th, 2020 at 5:50 PM ^
Michigan Football = Fucking Pathetic
November 28th, 2020 at 5:52 PM ^
You’ve made this comment on all 200 threads today..... (+1 redundant)
November 28th, 2020 at 5:52 PM ^
Meh. This is dumb.
College football and the NFL might as well be different sports when it comes to coaching success. College football is at least 60% recruiting and another 20% player development.
That said, Jim was also successful as a college coach prior to UM. Has he lost the passion, maybe, but let’s not rewrite history here as if he didn’t show up with great credentials. Brady Hoke he was not.
Saban was a failure in the NFL and is now one of if not the greatest college football coaches of all time. His recruiting machine is where it starts.
Your take is bad.
November 28th, 2020 at 5:55 PM ^
Michigan absolutely made the right call in hiring Harbaugh. I have zero regrets about Michigan hiring him. Zero. The first two years and then 2018 showed what he could accomplish here.
It didn’t work out, but Michigan still made the right call. Jed York is still a guy who was born with a silver spoon up his ass. A man who was literally handed the keys to a kingdom he in no way earned or had any experience running.
November 28th, 2020 at 5:58 PM ^
And yet...the 49ers are coming off a super bowl season
silver Spoon in ass and all, the guy 100% made the right call in firing harbaugh
November 28th, 2020 at 10:50 PM ^
Yeah if only Harbaugh could have gotten them to the super bowl they may have kept him.
November 28th, 2020 at 11:45 PM ^
One year of success means nothing, and the 49ers are flailing this year because they can't keep anybody healthy
November 28th, 2020 at 6:00 PM ^
Eh, fuck off. The Jim Harbaugh that York ran off was a badass and I’d take him back in a second. Unfortunately and for reasons unknown, that Jim Harbaugh is gone. I wish he was still around yelling at referees and picking fights with SEC coaches at satellite camps, but he isn’t and it’s time to move on.
November 28th, 2020 at 6:13 PM ^
York was a dumbass then and is probably a dumbass still. I give him no credit.
November 28th, 2020 at 6:15 PM ^
I keep hearing these, "a lot of NFL teams would love to have Jim Harbaugh" comments and I'm sorry but I am just not seeing it.
Why? Why would anyone want a coach who was run out of SF and really underperformed at his alma mater? Let's be honest, he has done his best work when he was working with other coaches' personnel. He has struggled with talent identification at Michigan.
I keep hearing that the Jets would love to have Harbaugh... Well, has anyone looked at that franchise? They are a mess. Maybe the Jets wanting Harbaugh is all we need to know. Seriously, they have not had a coach with a tenure winning record in over twenty years.
This shit is a mess and there are no more excuses.
We need to make a switch before there is no more Michigan brand to build on. We are entering Tennessee territory.
November 28th, 2020 at 7:57 PM ^
How many Damn retreads have been hired in the NFL? College is a vastly different game. I have no idea if harbaugh would be successful again in the nfl, but he Damn sure would get a job.
November 28th, 2020 at 6:22 PM ^
As a UM and Stanford alum and Niners fanatic, this is a pretty bad take. Credit where credit is due, York has been transformative with Lynch and Shannahan at the helm. Harbaugh and York were oil and water; similar to Harbaugh’s relationships with the Stanford admin. York has grown up a LOT since Harbaugh, I’m not sure I can say the same about the latter...I really miss the 2011-2013 Harbaugh
November 28th, 2020 at 6:24 PM ^
Ditching Harbaugh was genius but hiring the sweaty guy who farts at press conferences negates that.
November 28th, 2020 at 10:35 PM ^
Someone post the Tomsula fart video it was gold
November 28th, 2020 at 6:25 PM ^
Maybe not so classy to shit all over a man who works hard, loves the school, graduates players, keeps a clean program, and put out some respectable teams. He's bottomed out here, yes, but there's no reason to treat him like he's a piece of shit.
November 28th, 2020 at 6:37 PM ^
This ^^^
Jim Harbaugh was a personal hero of mine growing up. I followed his career in the NFL, then as a coach, and was absolutely thrilled when Michigan hired him. Something is wrong with him, I’m convinced of it. His spark is gone, he’s broken, and may well be suffering from medical issues. I hear people say they don’t pity a guy who made $50M for mediocre success, but I feel for the guy. He’s probably more disappointed and depressed than anyone about his failure at his beloved alma mater. There’s no need to disrespect the man, nor make excuses for him.
November 28th, 2020 at 6:54 PM ^
There really isn’t anything, he treats his players badly. They transfer. He refuses to adapt, so we spent several years trying to run an outdated offense. The culture has been bad for years. Let’s not F$cking get another Michigan man, because there is nothing left from that culture. Hire Luke Fickle and bring in an OSU alum like 1969.
November 28th, 2020 at 6:33 PM ^
Coaches come to UM and then their careers go to horse shit... But I still say we ride with Harbaugh, if he even wants to still coach here.
November 28th, 2020 at 8:12 PM ^
My lord, what is this take? You acknowledge that Harbaugh has completely bottomed out. Seemingly because he came to UM, at least in your estimation. Then you say we need to stick with him? Excuse me when I say this, but that's a really dumb and illogical statement!
November 28th, 2020 at 7:01 PM ^
Why is this getting downvoted? He’s right.
November 28th, 2020 at 8:58 PM ^
It's getting negged because it irrelevant.
November 28th, 2020 at 9:30 PM ^
Wtf is wrong with you that this is your take?a rare login to express my utter disbelief that anyone would post this.
November 28th, 2020 at 10:11 PM ^
The 49ers have 1 winning record since Harbaugh was coaching there while SF has gone through 3 coaches. I know it's fun to assume Harbaugh is the worst possible coach to ever walk the earth, he was a really good one for a long time and will likely be a good one somewhere else other than UM.
November 29th, 2020 at 1:22 PM ^
The problem is SF had to go thru a sacrificial lamb coach and backstabber to finally get a good coach.
November 29th, 2020 at 10:18 PM ^
How has this worked out for Jed York?
OP this is not a good look.
