20 pts on 5-10 from 3. Not too shabby for a kiddo who thought he'd be in sports podcasting after college.
Edit: Make that 6-10 from 3. 23 pts!!!
October 9th, 2020 at 11:50 PM ^
He’s a player!!!!!! 26 points in a game when the Lakers could have hoisted the trophy is sick....
October 10th, 2020 at 12:29 AM ^
There were 4 players tonight who had over 20 points: Lebron James, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson.
October 10th, 2020 at 12:41 AM ^
Surreal. Impressive that those other guys can keep up with drob.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:05 PM ^
What’s his +/- or doesn’t it matter on a night where he is kicking ass?
October 9th, 2020 at 11:20 PM ^
+3 -- tied for best on the Heat.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:10 PM ^
If KCP or Green are not guarding Duncan, he's going to get an open look, and he's been making them pay today. For some reason, Vogel (or LeBron) have been letting a weaker defender guard Duncan more often today.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:15 PM ^
Van Gundy has been basically worshipping Duncan all game - a fun broadcast to listen to as a Michigan fan. And the haters around here who claimed Duncan disappears on the big stage: shame on you. Keep it up D3!
October 10th, 2020 at 6:39 AM ^
Yeah that’s just Michigan as a whole who doesn’t show up on the big stage.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:20 PM ^
Drawing a charge on Lebron may be the most remarkable thing he's done.
Like stop the game and keep the ball moment.
October 10th, 2020 at 2:36 AM ^
That’s like drawing a hold against Gretzky
October 9th, 2020 at 11:25 PM ^
Best play was Duncan taking a charge by Lebron, that was contested by the Lakers. Duncan's defense bested Lebron's offense.
October 10th, 2020 at 12:02 AM ^
Show that post to a Michigan basketball fan in 2017 and watch them explode
October 10th, 2020 at 12:14 AM ^
I thought his best play was the 4pt play
October 9th, 2020 at 11:31 PM ^
Great game so far, LBJ and Jimmy Butler are insane
Super cool Duncan is playing a big part of it - 4 point play and some defensive plays against Lebron, a memorable night for him I'm sure
October 9th, 2020 at 11:34 PM ^
Heat down 1 and have the ball with 21 seconds left...
October 9th, 2020 at 11:38 PM ^
Heat up by 1 with 17 seconds left. Duncan stays on the floor on defense.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:45 PM ^
He definitely earned the D back in his name tonight.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:39 PM ^
Duncan and the Heat live to play another day!!
October 9th, 2020 at 11:39 PM ^
Duncan with 26 points and 5 rebounds on 7-13 3pt shooting. Also - had incredible Effort on D. Led his team in +/- again! (+7). The Lakers nearly stole the game in the mid 4th quarter when they took Duncan out. They had to put him back in - and he was huge.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:40 PM ^
Heat WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 9th, 2020 at 11:40 PM ^
D-Rob making the big decision to help on Lebron and leave Danny Green and it paid off.
Also, Jimmy Butler is the toughest player in the NBA. Not even close. Dude is a dog
October 10th, 2020 at 4:40 AM ^
The wrestling match Butler had with Dwight Howard early, I thought, set the stage. Guy is just phenomenally gutsy.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:41 PM ^
Heat got the dub. Hats off to Duncan.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:41 PM ^
DUNCAN FKING ROBINSON
Huge plays on both ends of the floor. Fearless.
October 10th, 2020 at 8:22 AM ^
Funcan Ducking Robinson!
October 9th, 2020 at 11:42 PM ^
Heat win, heck yeah! The Lakers are not the same team with a gimpy Davis. If Dragic can manage to come back, I'm liking the Heat's chances the next 2 games.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:42 PM ^
Also, if Bam doesn't play like absolute horseshit, that will help a bit as well.
October 10th, 2020 at 12:27 AM ^
Herro was M.I.A.(no pun intended) this game too. Need him in game 6, if the Heat want To win the series.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:42 PM ^
DRob II leads Heat again with +7, with 26 points. And he was great in crunch time...
October 9th, 2020 at 11:44 PM ^
Fuck. Credit to Miami, they battled the Lakers hard tonight. Still don’t think Miami can win two more against this Lakers team, but AD got pretty banged up tonight. In addition to Butler’s insane game, Duncan’s offense and defense were definitely key to Miami‘a win tonight.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:45 PM ^
that was a great game! Need Bam to show up Sunday to take this to game 7.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:52 PM ^
That was fun. Was keeping up with the score, and switched over late and got to see Duncan get the charge and bang a 3 down. Hope he’s got two more great games to go.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:56 PM ^
26 points in the NBA finals with a go ahead three late in the game!! Hot damn!!!
October 9th, 2020 at 11:58 PM ^
Really would love to see this go to a game 7.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:58 PM ^
Michigan athletics, and basketball specifically, has some of the best stories in collegiate history
89 title with Glen Rice and Fisher, Fab Five, plane crash championship, Trey Burke, Austin Hatch, and now Duncan can be added to that list
October 10th, 2020 at 7:42 AM ^
Every item in your list is special in its own way, but are you really putting "interim coach takes control just before the tourney and leads his team to an NCAA championship" with "coach honors scholarship of player who is tragically injured?"
Even thirty years later many 50+ sports fans outside Michigan will recognize Steve Fisher. Austin Hatch? There are probably more than a few posters on this blog (younger ones, surely) unfamiliar with his name.
October 10th, 2020 at 12:23 AM ^
He was spectacular and clutch tonight...With AD banged up, Heat might have new life.
October 10th, 2020 at 5:35 AM ^
Duncan Robinson is playing himself into one hell of a second contract. Especially if the Heat somehow complete a huge upset and win the next two games.
October 10th, 2020 at 7:16 AM ^
Nice interview here that wraps up with a "Go Blue!"

Wow.
Getting a pro contract. Sticking with a team. Turning into a valuable contributor to their season. Playing a major role in their run to the Finals. Playing a key role in the Finals, against an NBA great.
Wow.
October 10th, 2020 at 10:10 AM ^
And he STILL looks like someone I wouldn't choose in a pick-up game. Amazing guy.
October 10th, 2020 at 3:08 PM ^
Where are you playing pick up that you wouldn't pick someone who's 6 8?
October 10th, 2020 at 9:51 AM ^
Huge performance was the difference between them winning and losing, Butler always has a strong game, Robinson needs to keep being the solid #2 to win

When the going gets tough, you run screens all night to let duncan rain terror.
October 10th, 2020 at 9:33 PM ^
I am late to the party. I didn't see that the Lakers won it all on the news so I was curious and looked it up. So . . .
Duncan Robinson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was fun reading the posts above. All is well.
October 12th, 2020 at 4:38 PM ^
He should get a nice raise for the next season. Bellein did prepare his players for the next level.
