I don't know but it is a) glorious and b) so old I guarantee at least one of those teams is incredibly bad.

msu twitter: We can take credit for a guy that barely played too!
7 passes, 0 starts
Compared to 2 years starting

Haven’t listened to Dan Patrick in several years. But numerous times he was quoted as saying Brady played behind Henson. I couldn’t believe that he kept saying that.

No clue dude started out a Sparty
October 8th, 2020 at 9:03 PM ^
....and Foles also wants to forget that fact.

I give him credit for leaving.

Too smart to stay a Sparty.

One year with Dantonio was enough to drive any sane man away.

Foles is so bad lol

Bears are terrible at picking and developing quarterbacks.

That's was a very long time ago - the year I graduated from Michigan, too, just like him. If I recall, he was way better with the Colts.

And an illegal Kordell Stewart TD (and dropped Quentin Coryatt INT) from a Super Bowl as a QB.
That Stewart was born to do nothing else but stick it to Wolverines.

Just sitting down to watch a few minutes. How did Chicago catch T-bay?
October 8th, 2020 at 10:25 PM ^
Nick Foles actually threw a touchdown pass.
October 8th, 2020 at 10:36 PM ^
What was that, six consecutive penalties? Though the last hold was questionable at best.
October 8th, 2020 at 10:38 PM ^
And that personal foul they called against the bucs for the alleged head butt. Very weak.

Worst thing about football, if not television timeouts, is refs making the game more about themselves...
October 8th, 2020 at 10:38 PM ^
HP, you nailed the headline and graphic. Let’s hope the Fighting Tom Brady’s take down lowly Bears this eve.
October 8th, 2020 at 11:02 PM ^
This is a pretty good game, aside from all the penalties.
Gronkowski is just a shell of himself though. Still has the hands, but his legs and core are shot.
October 8th, 2020 at 11:30 PM ^
Bucs' offensive line is a sieve. Brady not looking happy
October 8th, 2020 at 11:33 PM ^
No idea what happened at the end of the game but Brady and Gronk look really old all of a sudden. Especially Gronk, who you can tell isn't in football shape at all right now. And Brady losing the number of downs was weird.
October 8th, 2020 at 11:36 PM ^
That was bizarre. Did Brady take a shot to the head at some point? I didn't see the whole game.
October 8th, 2020 at 11:44 PM ^
He was under duress the whole night, and took a lot of hits.
I don't think that is why he lost track of 4th down, but it is still why he lost the game.
This is better than just sticking with the Patriots for 2 more years?
October 8th, 2020 at 11:55 PM ^
BB was ready to move on and had been for some time. They stopped getting along and the Pats needed to start preparing for a post-Brady world. Honestly, just retire.
October 9th, 2020 at 12:13 AM ^
Yeah, I know no one, especially an all-time great, wants to be told when to go, but he should've retired after the Super Bowl win against LA.
This Tampa Bay year will never feel right.
October 9th, 2020 at 9:52 AM ^
The patriots were a smart enough organization to not commit that kind of money for two years to a QB clearly in decline. They saw the writing on the wall last year
October 9th, 2020 at 12:07 AM ^
I figured Gronk would be pretty bad this year. He lost so much weight once he retired, and even though he bulked up a bit, he is still a rail compared to how big he was in NE. He’s also just not all there (like in a playing mood/maybe some other stuff I’d hate to speculate on) I’m starting to think.
Brady is solid. No training camp and missing 3 of his 4 best targets tonight. That OL is garbage though. His stats are solid this season so far - even with the outlier game against the chargers. He’s playing like a mid-tier QB now, and considering how good the Bucs roster is on paper, and once they get some weapons back, a mid tier QB may be all they really need.
At the end of the day, I think the Bucs continue to improve through the season and sneak in the playoffs. At that point, who knows what happens for any team.
October 9th, 2020 at 12:07 AM ^
Got to keep your head in the game. That was unexpected. So far, he's looked competitive, despite being a bit slower to get the ball out. I'm sure he's madder at himself than anything. But if a rookie did that, we'd be saying he wasn't ready for the league.
October 9th, 2020 at 3:06 AM ^
The longer Brady plays for a team that’s not dominant the more he’s going to embarrass himself, but apparently he’s determined to follow the same sad path that Unitas and Namath and Montana did. Lord knows why—he doesn’t need the money or more adulation. He’s cemented his place in history and has nothing more to prove.
October 9th, 2020 at 12:24 PM ^
Simplest explanation is often the correct one. The guy just wants to keep playing, and he thinks he's got it in him to do so. $50 million guaranteed over two years certainly helps, but you're definitely right in that he doesn't need anymore money. He's got enough of it where his kid's grand kids could still be living off of it in the next 100 years. And he certainly has nothing left to prove, unless he just wanted to shut the "It was all Belichek" people up.
I just think he's an ultra competitor and he loves the game enough to where he just wants to keep going. He's going to keep playing until his body tells him he physically can't do it anymore. I also think its partially because he doesn't know what else he'd do with his life. Brady doesn't strike me as a guy who's looking to be a commentator when this is all said and done. He may just want to be putting off the inevitable question he has to answer of "Okay, now what?"

Earlier in the game I remember seeing him on the sidelines yelling at an offensive lineman for a stupid penalty that contributed to a stalled drive. After losing track of downs at the end of the game, I’m sure Tom felt pretty bad.
Still, there’s something about this guy that convinces me he can still rally this team to contend. We’ll see.
