Ronnie Bell- Real UM fans appreciate you
This post is for the piece of shit fans who couldnt carry Bells jock straps. Ronnie bells dad took to social media the disgust that UM fans have displayed towards his son after the drop yesterday. Sad that we have to resort to bashing players that give their heart and souls to the team. That guy is a warrior. Ronnie bell- don't let these idiotic "fans" take away from the fact that you are a true wolverine and we appreciate you. Work hard, stay humble and you'll be a lot more successful than the bums bashing you.
Hopefully these links works..

Worst. Fanbase. Ever.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:13 PM ^
It's either a small number (literally single digits?) of unhinged fans or bucky / sparty trolls impersonating Michigan students and fans. But sure, let's point a finger at the entire Michigan fanbase.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:23 PM ^
id say its more than single digits.... look at the stupid shit people post here after a bad half ffs.
But we are not the worst ever. Every fan base has it to a degree, I think.
October 20th, 2019 at 10:15 PM ^
Totally agree. I'd estimate 20% of this blogs fans alone are toxic.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:50 PM ^
How do you know it's "literally single digits"?
October 20th, 2019 at 6:25 PM ^
I don't, hence the question mark. There's one screenshot posted of one unhinged lunatic doing this (where 'this' is specifically posting hate at players / family on social media). The entire fanbase can't be judged as "worst fanbase ever" from such an event. Additionally, this event has a non-zero chance of being one of our rivals' fans trying to stir up shit by impersonating a Michigan student - they'd get a two for one trolling by pissing off a player's parent and starting shit for a Michigan student who hasn't done anything untoward.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:33 PM ^
True, but that’s how it goes, right? One guy shits in a cooler while wearing an OSU shirt, the whole fan base becomes cooler poopers. Every fan base has idiots that have to take it to an extreme.
October 20th, 2019 at 8:41 PM ^
How do you think all those child molesters in Happy Valley feel?
October 20th, 2019 at 10:22 PM ^
Any fan bashing Bell is not a fan. It was one play over an entire game. Not one play or player wins or loses a game. People ripping him are fat non-athletic slobs living in their moms basement
October 20th, 2019 at 5:20 PM ^
We’re not the worst fanbase ever. Fans of visiting teams don’t fear for their safety when they come to Ann Arbor.
But we do - like everyone else - have asshole fans who don’t get that it’s a game and tie their self-esteem to the performance of a team. Then when the team loses they spew their venom on the team because they think they’re entitled to win every game. On that we’re no better than anyone else and can’t claim any moral high ground.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:41 PM ^
This self-hating fuck troll needs to go away.
We have bama fans calling in bomb threats, burning down rival Trees and doing all sorts of crazy shit on Finebaums show in public but the Michigan fan base is the worst?
GTFO
October 20th, 2019 at 6:55 PM ^
Hello pot this is kettle. You are one of the worst trolls on here.
October 21st, 2019 at 6:23 PM ^
True story.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:07 PM ^
People suck.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
I thought this post was for Ronnie Bell, not random state/tosu fans (personally like tosu because it sounds like a sun belt team) But yeah, I've been on the Bell train since Harbaugh snagged him, and I know I'm not alone.
Being down on Bell is like being down on your star trader because he made his first bad trade out of like 50. He's keeping you afloat.
Also it's possible some if these idiots are just maizen accounts trying to push the only stars matter narrative.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
Sports bring out the best in some moments and the worst in others. This is definitely one of the worst moments. He’s a college kid, they make mistakes. I feel for him and felt for him last night too.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:09 PM ^
Connor Grady is going to have quite a bit of email spam filters to reset come this week.
As for Bell, catch the ball.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:24 PM ^
He's lucky Ronnie's dad isn't super vindictive. It takes all of 30 seconds to find that guy's boss's email address.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:29 PM ^
Yeah - I won't post it, but young Grady's LinkedIn profile is out there.
I honestly think this is a fireable-type offense. Geez, what an idiot.
October 20th, 2019 at 7:37 PM ^
He has a profile on the website of the trade association his LinkedIn lists as his employer as well. Looks just like you think he does. His title is research associate. Not really an irreplaceable title to be making such poor decisions.
October 20th, 2019 at 8:46 PM ^
Wise advise there, buddy. I'm sure that never occurred to him.
October 21st, 2019 at 1:19 AM ^
What the fuck is wrong with you? It's a fucking football game. The game was heart wrenching, the loss made me feel bad when I thought about it, but come on! Michigan's football team should not be the nucleus of your existence. Your self-esteem is vicariously linked to the success or failure of a bunch of 18-22 year olds who you don't even know. Recognize that, heal yourself, and quit posting on this board you fucking loser.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:12 PM ^
Well in todays media world, probably a lot of the negative people are trolls who are fans of other teams doing this.
It wouldnt surprise me.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:27 PM ^
Dude wrote the email from his umich account, with his full signature. He has a linkedin profile. It's a real life idiot who went to Michigan.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:12 PM ^
October 20th, 2019 at 5:29 PM ^
I agree. It's his first year starting and he's shown he's for real.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:14 PM ^
Love me some Ronnie Bell. Kid plays his ass off and is probably best suited for “speed in space” offense.
Hed be the first one to tell you he should have caught that the ball and his emotions last night showed us how much he cares.
I wish Michigan had more Ronnie Bells on the team.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:15 PM ^
These kinds of fans suck. Bell also made plays that out is in a position to get the game in reach. These kids make mistakes and that is all fans look at. They are to be flawless or “their hot garbage” (misspelling intended) takes are abound. People tweet with their immediate emotion and then emotions replace intellectual reflection. This allows us to see how fucking moronic society has become.
I asked my college age kids if they felt like adults. None of them said they do. Bell is a kid playing a sport—yeah I am mad when he cannot catch it—but he is not a shitty player.
He is a young player who will only develop more as he works to improve. I remember Martavious Odoms and Gallon “sucked” but started early and only got better at catching and holding on to the ball. Bell is already better than they were. DPJ has made some bad return decisions and looks salon, but he is not slow and he will continue to learn and improve. Nico gets called for using his arms too much on deep passes—he will learn and maybe get more breaks.
Imagine a world where every time someone failed then they were fired immediately. People are ridiculously chaotic in their responses.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:20 PM ^
After seeing the link, I have no problem with you sharing his profile.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:25 PM ^
Not really my style to share this stuff. Follow the twitter posts and you can find it.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:16 PM ^
Bell's dad is not doing him any favors here.
Also, Bell is our best receiver so you would have to be an idiot to want him to quit the team.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:37 PM ^
His post is sincere and calm. I admire it.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:09 PM ^
As do I and should all of us who have sons!
We don't have an opportunity to tie the game without Ronnie Bell helping to put us there!
October 20th, 2019 at 6:15 PM ^
He's essentially saying Ronnie can't handle criticism so send it to him instead. I'm sure this isn't what he intended, but the poor phrasing of this post sure makes it sound like it.
The idea isn't bad but the execution was. He could have said "Ronnie is focused on Notre Dame so please send any other criticism to me" and it would have been 10x better.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:16 PM ^
This isn't just "criticism" - people are directly contacting his son and harassing him.
He wants people to leave his son alone and I think that's entirely normal.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:22 PM ^
Yeah, and the phrasing of his post makes it sound like he wants Ronnie to be left alone because he can't handle criticism.
At some point, you have to let your kids fight their own battles. Ronnie is at the age where he can fight his own battles.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:27 PM ^
This isn't a battle Ronnie should have to fight at all.
If someone pulls this bullshit, they should be exposed. Connor Grady is going to have a fun week.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:41 PM ^
Except that Bell, like all college athletes, have to be mindful of what they say on SM. I'm sure (or I suspect) that there are a number of things he'd like to say but he can't fully let fly in the way he could if he weren't an athlete. I should add that I don't have kids, but I have to think that the instinct to protect my kid against cruelty would go to the bone.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:58 PM ^
Says the likely non-parent.
October 20th, 2019 at 8:03 PM ^
Sometimes young people can’t handle criticism, especially tsunami-style. It would be hard for a dad to know how to protect his son. But he’d sure want to try.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:44 PM ^
Bells dad is extremely measured and reasonable in his response. He offered to buy that loser lunch. What do you want him to do?
October 20th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
Awesome response from dad. Ronnie cares so deeply about doing his best for UM that a dropped pass sends him into a drop funk. That family has passion.
Chin up, Ronnie. Lots of football to be played and you can write a different ending to the story.
October 20th, 2019 at 8:24 PM ^
Your "chin up" phrase reminded me of this:
As rough as it was to see Ronnie so upset on the sideline, it was great to see his teammates supporting him.
October 21st, 2019 at 1:25 PM ^
He’s going to need a free lunch or two after he gets canned.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
He's defending his son. Good for him.
October 20th, 2019 at 5:16 PM ^
Ive seen 2 OSU fans bully an entire section of Michigan fans. I just dont think most of our fanbase has it in them to be honest. Now if i was an obsessive MSU fan or an OSU fan that cant get enough a troll account would be perfect. Knowing how sensitive our players are to everything as it is this is perfect chance to attack.
October 20th, 2019 at 6:23 PM ^
Knowing how sensitive our players are to everything
WTF are you insinuating?
October 20th, 2019 at 6:34 PM ^
I would counter that every fanbase of major programs has people within it capable of doing and saying despicable things. I wish that the OSU fans hadn't been bullies. I wish that I hadn't been spit on a few years ago for simply wearing a Buckeye t-shirt (and not on game day). Sports like big-time college football bring wide swaths of people together who might otherwise have much in common, and this includes considerable differences in ethics.
