Duncan Robinson signed to full NBA contract for $3.1 million
He had been signed to a “two way” contract where he split time between the G-league and the NBA. He now has a standard NBA contract.

Wow. From D3 Williams College. The Beilein Effect!
Take notice grad transfers and high school recruits. Opportunity is knocking.
"The Beilein Effect! Take notice grad transfers and high school recruits."
Unless you're Iggy, in which case the prevailing opinion is that there's no chance he can improve by spending more than one single season experiencing the Beilein Effect.

*Beilien Effect user results may vary.
If the Beilein effects lasts for more than four hours at a time, call your doctor.

DR couldn't play defense in his first year at Michigan. His second year, he is playing defense and now has an NBA contract. Wagner was a defensive/ rebounding liability, then got his draft and contract. Iggy is a liability at defense according to the scouts. If he comes back, I bet he could work himself into an NBA 1st rounder.
That's my pitch to him.

Whose prevailing opinion is that?
Great news. Last game of the season seems like a weird time to sign a contract though. Is that normal?
I haven't seen him play much but you would have to think they knew he was definitely leaving when FA opens.
I would have a pornographic orgasm if I signed that one year deal but that's chump change for these teams under the current cap. Hopefully next season He can earn a long term extension.
There is a deadline to hit the max roster number (15) to have player control for the summer with cap issues or something.
I was thinking that they called him up for the playoffs. . . but they're not in the playoffs.
To have a whole summer to get ready, working out with your new teammates, etc. must be a glorious prospect for Duncan.
Wow... that is terrific! Good for him!
AND HE STAYED TIL HE WAS A SENIOR!!!
Its weird. Its like he felt he needed to work on things, like his strength and defense or something. Where did that get him?
yes, duncan robinson passed up a shot at the nba to come back for his senior season.
Not at all whats being said. Duncan had limitations to his game, as the multitude of negative posts about his matador defense pointed out. The current players testing the draft process also have holes in their games. I dont care if the guy played 1 yr or was a fifth year senior. He recognized where his faults were, worked at it, and got his shot. Potential didnt mean shit to DRob. Getting better and fixing his flaws did.

my apologies, thought you were drawing a parallel to the poole / brazdeikis "not being ready / they should stick around and work on xyz" comments. hard not to take it that way, though.

That's how I took it too and I must say I agree (with that point of view). If the goal is a first-round contract, I don't see how Poole or Brazdeikis will get it this year, so coming back for a year would help, since they wouldn't be drafted on crazy athleticism anyway (a la the Aytons, Sextons, and JJJs of the world).
If the goal is to work your way into a contract by playing in the G League, then Poole and Iggy should go pro.
I hope I'm dead wrong about all of this, by the way. I hope they both get first-round deals.
Agreed. I pass up the chance at an NBA career every season to stay an IT guy. One of these years, though, I'll be ready to graduate from YMCA ball to the big time.
AND HE PLAYED IN THE BOWL GAME!
This is a disingenuous post because there was no way that Duncan was getting drafted after his junior year and likely wouldn't have been more than a standard G-League player. So yes, coming back helped solidify his position as someone who could stick in the NBA (most notably by showing he could play D -- we always knew he could shoot) but it wasn't like he passed up certain NBA fortune to return to Michigan for his senior season.
Yes, it's disappointing that Poole and Iggy declared but their NBA futures as they stand right now are much brighter and likely than Duncan's after his junior season.

Honestly, their NBA futures are much brighter and more likely than Duncan's after his senior season.
Great way to start a Wednesday.
Makes sense. We he shot the ball it actually went it alot.
tis early to be drinking
Always encouraging at the end of a long work day to see people who graduated 10 years after you surpass your career earnings with the stroke of a pen.
End of a long workday at 8am? Making me appreciate my 8-5
That could get dangerous in Miami. Tons of cocaine and vapid girls there to play with.
I don't see Duncan with the thick linked chain.
Just give it time. He probably doesn't have a house in Miami at this point because he isn't there much.

No concerns here. He resisted Sioux Falls' vices. Miami's temptations will be comparatively easy to ignore.
Good for him. Although it has been a ton of fun watching him play with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Get your money Duncan!
This is awesome. I’ll tune into some Heat games every once in awhile to watch him play.

Nice going Robby.

Very good news indeed.
As I recall, there was some optimism from a few people regarding Robinson when he graduated and left for the pros, so it is nice to see that so far, it was warranted optimism.
Great news!
Another good ending to a quintessential "Beilein guy" story.
Wow, this is totally awesome ! Really happy for Duncan. Coach B knows how to coach players up for sure.
He barely played in Miami this year, but he lit up the G-League, scoring 21.4 PPG on 48.3% 3-point shooting.
He was 2nd in the league in both 3-point % and 3-pointers made. The only guy who had a slightly higher percentage than him shot half as many 3's.
Considering he was a career 42% 3-point shooter in college, to jump up to 48% at the longer distance is quite the accomplishment. Hopefully he can do something similar in the actual league. The highest 3PT% this year in the NBA for a volume shooter was 47.4 for Joe Harris.
I read this as Denard Ronbinson signed a full NBA contract for $3.1 million
