Exactly.  He had nothing to fear from Meyer or the university.  I think -- one way or another -- Meyer is gone.  OSU will clean house and the Board of Trustees won't have to worry that they didn't uncover anything in their "investigation."

I think the key part of the story is that if he resigns, all this can be kept under wraps. I think the University does not want any more embarrassing info out there. Therefor, I think behind the scenes at this moment they are trying to buy him out of his contract so he can gracefully bow out and they can try to save face.

I know that comes from McMurphy, but I don't get it.

How could OSU approve a settlement with Meyer without knowing what's in the report? That would breach their fiduciary duty. I don't know the FOIA rules in Ohio, but this $500,000 report seems like it should be hard to hide. Even if the report was focused on Meyer, surely it touched on other issues in the AD.

If any of this weekend's revelations came as a surprise to Drake, the BoT or the investigative body, Meyer and Smith are gone.  There's nothing - nothing - these kind of people fear more than surprises.

A week or so ago, I was 100% convinced that Urban wasn't going anywhere, but that Gene Smith *might* serve as the fallguy and be canned (how in the HELL is he still there, anyway?). Now, though? I'm not really sure what to think about all of this mess.

Meyer is likely gone.  I don't think OSU wants to take the chance that there is even more bad news out there regarding the football team and Meyer's inability to control his staff.  If Meyer stays, OSU is one tweet/story away from the entire thing going up in flames.  I bet they are giving him a chance to resign rather than be fired for cause.  That way he can sit out the year and take the LSU job when it opens in a few months.

You don't take pictures of your junk unless you plan on showing other people.  Hence, other people had to have known about it.

The comments with the article are overwhelmingly, "So what? He was banging someone in the office. Happens all the time." And, "Smith being a bad husband has nothing to do with Urban." Also calls for physical harm against McMurphy.

My favorite comment.

"Bret McMurphy obviously wants to take Urban down. He is a lowlife joke exploiting Courtney Smith for his own vindictive reasons. When he is done with her he will cast her aside like a piece of garbage."

Does the "he" refer to Urban or McMurphy?

The Board probably doesn't take as jaded a view as anonymous commenters who say "so what it happens all that time." It does happen, that's beside the point.  Different issue from the fact that "Woody Hayes Athletic Center" is now forever associated with deliveries that... well.. that have everyone Googling "what is a ball lifter"  Hayes would have had Smith executed.

Kevin Wilson - Fired for mistreating injured players.
Greg Schiano - Knew about the Sandusky abuse and was a failure in TB with some douchey end-of-game tactics.

These are your leaders of the OSU football program right now and Urban hired them.  How many days has it been since the media brought this up?

Reassigning the staffer is like sexual harassment law 101.  If the subordinate requested the transfer, it looks like it was a favor as part of quid pro quo harassment.  If she didn’t, it looks like a punishment for stopping the sex, which is again quid pro quo harassment.  This isn’t some new standard or Titke IX stuff, it’s literally the kind of behavior that’s been illegal since sexual harassment became a cause of action.

First off, the policy is that you declare the relationship when it starts, not when you feel like it. I understood she transferred long after he screwed her.  Second off, youre assuming she requested the transfer.  If she didn’t, see my post above.  Third, everyone has a right to request transfer,  no one has a right to have the request granted.  I can’t transfer from accounting to the athletic department just because I’m sleeping with another CPA.  Even supposing it was a declared relationship and she requested a transfer, there is still a problem if the new position is materially better than the previous one, because she can’t benefit from fucking her supervisor.  The transfer stuff is problematic whenever one party is in management and could influence the outcome.

You might wonder what supervisors who fuck subordinates are supposed to do.  Well, it’s pretty straightforward: don’t fuck your subordinates.  While large institutions like colleges typically don’t prohibit employee relations, because, amongst other reasons, many married couples work at the same schools, they do universally advise against it.  I know this having worked at two universities.  For example, TA’s at Michigan can (or at least used to be able to) date undergrad students in their class, but this comes with a whole process. Every department head tells the TA’s, “just don’t do it.”

So go back to 11 Warriors.

Yeah it's like I was saying yesterday, this had to be his subordinate, which makes it a bigger issue for the university especially as it happened in the coaching offices.

"The main reason I reported it is because Zach Smith was an employee at Ohio State having sex with a subordinate in the football office."
"The woman he had sex with was reassigned to another department in the summer of 2015. She was reassigned after what went on, but he remained employed.”

Assuming this is true, it's hard to imagine Meyer didn't know or approve of the transfer in his own department.

See ya, turd.

Somewhat surprised no one has reported ZS's mom and former mother in law's arrest records.  They went out of their way to discredit her.  However, should we trust, A, the mother of the accuser.  But B, two ladies who have been arrested for assault and disorderly conduct and stalking and domestic violence.
