OT: Nike Basketball Uniformz for B1G schools
HIDEOUS.
Oh and by the way, per the article, ohio is going to wear theirs against Michigan.
Because wearing ugly uniformz went well last time they played Michigan.

Michigan State, Oregon, and Syracuse all look terrible. The others are alright.

the 'Cuse ones. Agree on the State one being awful. With Oregon I can't even have an opinion. They seem to have a new uniform every week.

The Syracuse top is awesome, but contrasting-color basketball shorts don't work for me.
January 31st, 2014 at 4:33 PM ^
Looks like they decided to take their 80's road top and combine it with their 80's road-alternate bottom for some unknown reason.

They may not be wearing the two colors together as Nike could have made two versions like they did with Ohio State (gray and scarlet). I love all them except MSU and Oregon's. Not sure how MSU can have a bronze throwback. I don't get MSU's obsession with bronze. It's almost as if they hate their own colors.

In the 90's teal seemed to be a color every team was adding to their team colors. Seemed every new logo somehow had teal in it either as a primary color or a secondary color. Now it seems that gold/bronze is being added to teams with green and the others are adding silver/chrome.

But that's pro sports. College sports teams usually don't mess with their existing colors. The Minnesotas of the world have made their bed with their crappy color choices and accept it.

to hate one's ownly colors.

I didn't care for the yellow shoes, but otherwise I thought those were cool.
January 31st, 2014 at 7:08 PM ^
Michigan and ohio last year and it was like watching a ketchup vs. mustard war.

Those maize on maize unirforms were the most sexy thing ive seen in my life. LOVED the shoes !

Even though Nike keeps trying the Bronze look, those State jerseys are very nice. Don't mind them at all.
January 31st, 2014 at 4:04 PM ^
combination gives me too many bad memories though...from the football field.
January 31st, 2014 at 4:04 PM ^
For a school that's always screaming "Green, White", MSU seems to desperately want another color.
January 31st, 2014 at 4:48 PM ^
Go Green Go Bronze, Go Green Go Bronze.
Yeah, you're right. Doesn't work.
January 31st, 2014 at 5:02 PM ^
...is still for finishing in third place, right?
January 31st, 2014 at 4:51 PM ^
wearing green uniforms. Yes, I know that it is an Irish thing, but, c'mon. Don't your school colors mean anything. And don't get me started on Oregon. I can't even remember what their school colors are anymore.
January 31st, 2014 at 8:09 PM ^
that always got me was the French Catholic Fighting Irish.
January 31st, 2014 at 4:06 PM ^
For those of us who remember when some of these designs were actually worn, these are a welcomed return. Honestly, I don't think they're that bad. I'll take these any day over Adidas Fruit Stripe camo or monochrome jerseys you can't read.
Hell, Duke, Kentucky, and UNC look pretty damn close to what they usually wear anyway...
January 31st, 2014 at 4:08 PM ^
You know what, let Ohio State look like shit when they play Michigan. They are not going to win that game, so I guess they might as well debut a new uniform. Give them something to look forward to.
January 31st, 2014 at 4:09 PM ^
At least they're not as bad as the adidas ones from last year:

Are MSU fans okay with the fact that an entirely new color is being added to their existing color scheme? This is a school whose fight song includes the lyrics "Fight for the only colors: green and white."
January 31st, 2014 at 4:30 PM ^
My guess is that the song could be eventually revised to read "Fight for most of the only colors: Green and White among them."
I actually kind of like the North Carolina ones, and the Kentucky uniforms actually aren't that bad either. All of them seem to basically be "retro" in some way.
January 31st, 2014 at 4:10 PM ^
Is Nike getting their uniform names from Buzzfeed headlines? "Hyper Elite Dominance," really?

I don't like the mis-match color of top and bottom in basketball.
On a seperate note, what drives the inclusion of the american flag on the jersey? MSU, Duke, and UNC have them, the others do not. Is it school driven?
January 31st, 2014 at 4:38 PM ^
but not sure if they will wear them that way. It's possible Nike made two versions in both colors.

I actually love all of these. Better than the K-Mart looking BS we wear.

I think the big issue with MSU is that the dominant color here isn't even one of their school colors.
January 31st, 2014 at 5:06 PM ^
... in fact, I wouldn't even be able to tell you what was different about Kentucky, Duke, or NC without looking online.

January 31st, 2014 at 5:34 PM ^
They're a lot better than the zubaz shit adidas has put out lately.
January 31st, 2014 at 5:43 PM ^
At least they were actually the colors of the school that was wearing them.
January 31st, 2014 at 6:51 PM ^
Really? Because I wasn't aware that Notre Dame changed their school color to neon green. The only one of those that aren't school colors are MSU's.

MSU's uniform doesn't look bad to me, and hey, they throw out tradition almost yearly. Kentucky, Duke and especially Carolina are the only good ones out of the bunch to me. Ohio's are atrocious. Glad we'll annihilate them in those.
January 31st, 2014 at 6:10 PM ^
January 31st, 2014 at 7:35 PM ^
...are we just hating them just to hate them? The Adidas uniforms last year were a million times worse.
January 31st, 2014 at 7:54 PM ^
Yeah I don't see how they're ''hideous'' in the slightest.
