I can make a thread advertising my expertise?
"Do you want your own Grand Canyon? Need to clear 8 square miles in New York City for your retirement home? Got the critical mass of weapons-grade uranium but don't know how to control the detonation? Better call MGoNukeE!"

mayhaps a suggestion? how about for those on probation, other users don't have to sacrifice an mgopoint to downvote? that should either be a) really easy to implement or b) will crash the new server.

Angry MGoBloggers must be making a positive impact on the landlocked country. Recently, Uruguay offered Bolivia access to the Atlantic, and Peru passed a bill which grants Bolivia access to the Pacific along with rights to a beach. Rogue fans will be livin' it up in Bolivia soon. (IBTimes Link)

I thought the first rule of Mgopoints was we don't talk about Mgopoints. Now here's multiple threads about Mgopoints.

Your real challenge. You can't be Matt Damon in that one lawyer movie that was OK but kind of sucked without representing M-Wolverine. If you need points, I will use mine as collateral.
He started most of the game threads. He argued with many, but always had a logical reason for doing so. He made me and others think about different points of view. His great failure was constantly countering Brian in his despair of this lost season. I would bet even the mods have some sympathy for this trial.
The rest will be freed eventually. The case of M-Wolverine allows you to bring a poster back from the dead.
December 12th, 2013 at 3:06 PM ^
Agreed.

His banning - its manner as much as the fact of it - remains a odd moment in my mind.

What's funny is I miss the guy and i KNOW I held a special place in his heart for picking apart any ill-formed or nonsensical point I would make. Every time I'd start ranting about something not exactly fueled by fact or reason he'd always showup (sometimes the next day) to poke a logic-sized hole in my emotional baloon.

Do you have a list of those who have died?
I suppose the list could be subdivided:
- Those who were whacked (mwolverine, etc.)
- Those who committed suicide (removed their own account. Is this possible?)
- Those who went quiet into the long night and just faded away. Maybe technically still there, but just gone, and haven't visited the site forever.

There is obviously a special set of people who have massively negative point totals, but is there a way to differentiate between some of the people who have -500 or -1000?
I guess I'm just curious who got a couple/few thousand points knocked off at once, and who earned their negative totals "the hard way"

What was that kid's name...Mr.Mario86 or something. Let's bring him back. There was nothing better than the weekly, over the top meltdown he would have whenever someone would correct him or show even the slightest sign of disagreeing with one of his points. Entertaining stuff. God was that kid ever in the middle of the rough and awkward stage of puberty where everyone is out to get ya.

he of the intimate relationships with Magnus' mom and the courage to burn down Gareon Conley's family's house for daring to go to OSU. Pretty sure Ace actually got him, which is unusual.

Could I make a plea to come back or am I too fargone? I know I have had my differences on here. At the end of season I was too grumpy from being a perma resident of Bolivia.
Name: Professor X/Anti-Bandocalrissian/GhostofBorges
Time with mgoblog: Since the Haloscan days aka around 2005
As a long tenured member I have a history with this site. I bring unique perspective especially with hockey. I feel with my perma-Bolivia residence I have come to a cross roads. I realize I have trolled in the past, especially specific members who I personally disagree with their direction of the MMB and the athletic department. I understand it is ok to have differing opinions.
As penance of my probation I am willing to do the following:
- pen an apology to those I have wronged
- change my avatar to that of a mod choosing
- allow a public vote for a new signature
- stick to posting of cute cat pictures, especially on days of Michigan loses
- collaborating with mgoMods and my MGoLegal Rep (already talk with LSAClassof2000

From your twitter and posts on the facebook group for Children of Yost, you still seem to dislike Brian, particularly his refusal to "support" the hockey team last year and his "overreactions" to the football team's poor play. Why do you want to come back here if you dislike the proprietor?
December 13th, 2013 at 11:25 AM ^
I personally disagree with many of his views (especially in regards to his analysis of the roster this season). However, that is ok in a mature discussion. I agree that some of my comments on there have been inflammatory and for the most part me overreacting.
I feel a healthy community is one where ideas are openly exchanged without prejudice and fallicious attacks (yes, I have been guilty of this when I have lost my cool).
December 13th, 2013 at 12:09 PM ^
Yet how many other times have you been to Bolivia, only to be brought out and then sent right back when you lose it again?
You've been overly combative, angry, and meanspirited to the point of exasperation for most your tenure here. You've had several meltdowns, and personally attacked posters (like me) simply because you disagree with their position over and over and over again. And I agree with the previous poster who highlights your open disdain of Brian, paired with your backing of the CoY in attacking other members of the fanbase.
You say you want to apologize, but based on your years (years!) of pretty abrasive posting against me and several other posters, I can't see it as genuine. I'm sorry, but I just can't.
December 13th, 2013 at 1:16 PM ^
I am sorry I have been combatitive with you in the past. It is obvious we have vast differences in how we believe the direction of the athletic department and the mmb. My response to your belief I am not genuine is that do you believe no one can be rehabilitated. the drug addict/alcoholic can be changed? If you take your screen name into consideration, look at Carrie Fisher, she was addicted to pills and booze for years. Has she she slipped up in the past? Yep. Everyone slips up at some point in their lives. It doesn't make them bad, it makes them human. You can believe whatever you want to about me. I cannot affect that belief outside of my behavior.

I missed the bolivian appeals process. When you think about it, it's pretty cool. Folks got banished and an ad hoc process grew up to allow them to make amends and be rehahiblitated. If only the legal system was so effecting and efficient.
Hats off to PGB!

Both of them appear sincere. Those in Bolivia not stating their case appear not to give two effs. So, eff them; I like this blog.
That said, my MGoThought is to allow Professor X (aka GhostofBorges) first crack at the process. He's reached out to LSAClassof2000 and does want to get back in the MGoSociety.
JimBob has made a recent cry for points help and also appears to want to come back. Makes sense to put his case in a file for further consideration.
Looking forward to open hearings in this process. After all, I hear the MGoJury recently was given a voting process.

Anyone can flame out from time to time, especially in seasons like this one. Show some remorse, restraint, and humility, and a second chance is in order.
The downvote system is back and poised to help warn posters if they should teeter on the brink again.

profitgoblue:
I lost 12,000 points from ACE for a very insensitive innuendo I made regarding a contributor from Eleven Warriors. Ace was new to the Blog and took the opportunity to make a name for himself and justifiably so. Although in poor taste it was a simple implication that although lacking in tact was clever if not regrettable. In any event much greater travesties have gone unpunished on the board.
Considering my entire body of work and contributions in good standing outside of this single instance I am hoping you will take my case and help return my 12,000 points for time served.
I appreciate your consideration,
