Mich vs UConn, viewing party at my house in San Diego

Submitted by San Diego Mick on

Okay folks, I got the green light from my awesome GF, she's from Iowa and a big M fan because of me! Anyway, anyone in this area who wants to visit for the game here is my email:

Indicate your screen name when messaging please.

Please RSVP me by tmrw evening 8pm our time, I'm thinking BYOB and maybe we can all chip in for pizza or we can BBQ before the game on my deck, I have a TV for outside too.

Please let me know everyone, need to organize last minute and all, it would be so cool to meet some of you.

I thought that San Diego was getting the Texas KState game...is it possible that we might be able to watch Michigan instead?

I'm up in Vista/Oceanside, but I hope you have a great get together to watch the game.

That's what I thought.
I can't believe that the programming types figure SoCal has any interest in Texas or KState. If it's not one of the PAC schools (specifically USC, UCLA, or Oregon), few teams rival Michigan as far as a San Diego fan-base presence (ok...maybe the Buckeyes and Seminoles have some fans out here too). Thinking back I can't think I've ever run into Longhorn fans...even at the zoo, Disneyland, or one of the other tourist-heavy spots.

I agree, props to you Mick for hosting people, nice of you to offer. Of course we've reached the age where everything is turned into a joke so that they can receive the props of their internet comrades and everyone is a stand up comedian. I blame reddit.

Everyone should be giving props to this guy. He's inviting strangers over into his house. Fergodsakes. It's about THER TEAM THE TEAM THE TEAM. If I wasn't in training I'd jump seat out there and attend for moral support and to drink with awesome people.

Hey Mick, that's very nice of you to offer.  I'm actually in the La Jolla/UTC area, so not far from you, but I'm going to be out of town this weekend, otherwise I'd join you all.  Very cool of you to host.  It would be fun to meet some fellow MGoBloggers in San Diego.  Anyway, enjoy the game this weekend.  Go BLUE.

I won't be anywhere near you but I did visit San Diego for the first time last year. My girlfriend's sister got married and we went out there. A group of us rented a big house in Encinitas. San Diego was beautiful. Enjoy the game!

my aunt lives in Encinitas, cousin in Cardiff by the Sea (Carlsbad), dad in Cerritos, brother in Ventura, and sister in Marina Del Rey. I've notified them. stock up on wine. BTW, this is a great gesture and if I was still in Cali I'd join you guys. Go Blue!

Mick, we want a full report on Sunday. Never know what the Internet will come up with but they should all be Michigan fans so it is starting on the right foot.

Cheers and Go Blue!

this is a great thing. don't know why some people turned it into what it became, but thanks for the offer. If I was around I would for sure take you up on it.
