Hello: WR Da'Mario Jones
Allen Trieu@AllenTrieu
Westland John Glenn (Mich.) senior WR Da'Mario Jones has committed to #Michigan - full story coming: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=162&f=1088&t=10277488 …
Wouldn't be surprised if the staff spoke with Conley and they decided to fill his spot with a WR. I don't think this means Treadwell is off the table.

obviously not

when Ole Miss is in a midwest kid's list of finalists.
My hopes for Treadwell are not high.

someone doesn't choose Michigan, it doesn't always mean something fishy is going on. His best friend (former M committ) Anthony Standifer goes there and I'm sure he's having a great time when he visits.

It's hard not to have a great time when you get back to your hotel room and there are two co-eds in your bed.
(Read Three and Out if you think I'm making this up)

when recruits come to Michigan they are showed a good time by their hosts? You have your head in the ground if you think this doesn't happen at Michigan.

How did he do with the herpes?
November 1st, 2012 at 2:09 PM ^
suggesting anything so blatant as whoring out girls, but I'm sure the recruits may be at parties where the girls in attendance would be more than happy to recieve the attention of a high profile future athlete.
October 31st, 2012 at 1:11 PM ^
written by one person as evidence?
October 31st, 2012 at 4:06 PM ^
Everyone knows that a book must contain at least 3 authors to qualify as valid evidence.
October 31st, 2012 at 6:17 PM ^
I don't know what they do over there, but they sure are great at the "one-visit close." I'm guessing that something must be happening that recruits see as really special during their visits. I wonder what that could be?
October 31st, 2012 at 12:37 PM ^
I'm just guessing he won't. In general, I agree with you, but I'm less likely to agree when it's a (relatively) local kid turning down Michigan for a distant program with far less prestige, inferior academics, and arguably less opportunity for immediate playing time. This isn't Trey DePreist going to Alabama or DeAnthoney Arnett going to Tennessee. There are other factors to consider, and every kid has different priorities, but in this circumstance it is reasonable to wonder...
October 31st, 2012 at 12:42 PM ^
Because he doesn't want to commit, then de-commit to take visits. Relax, he is still in play.
October 31st, 2012 at 12:48 PM ^
I just don't think he's coming here given how things are playing out and the fact that we have 3 WRs already committed.

We need the depth at WR.
November 1st, 2012 at 2:09 PM ^
We sure do
October 31st, 2012 at 12:45 PM ^
He has a friend there. So there's that.
On the other hand, the school still plays "Dixie" as their fight song...
October 31st, 2012 at 12:50 PM ^
Maybe it's as simple as wanting to see his freind. And the Oklahoma/Ok State interest is also logical...
suspicion level lowered

Who doesnt enjoy a visit to Ole Miss and all those frat girls with 4 teeth?

Try sororty girls that are very easy on the eyes.

That might not leave a spot for Laquon.

Treadwell is not an option? or will they take another wr

I am thinking this may be the writing on the wall regarding Conley. We will see though.
EDIT: OP edits faster than I can post. Welcome Da'Mario!

If Gareon had set up a visit to OSU that opens up another spot. Doubt it takes the Quan's place.

I would guess that this has little impact on the three remaining recruits we are looking at (Green, Treadwell and McQuay). I would say it is 100% Conley being out of the picture. Any scouting reports on this guy?

October 31st, 2012 at 12:20 PM ^
He was recruited as a DB but has had a very good season at WR.
October 31st, 2012 at 12:21 PM ^
He was recruited as a corner originally, but more recently, the coaches had informed him that he could play wide receiver, too.
October 31st, 2012 at 12:19 PM ^
It's one of two thing:
1) Conley is definitely gone and the staff knows it. The public didn't until now.
2) Treadwell is no longer on the table.
October 31st, 2012 at 12:20 PM ^
Or, given the state of our WR corps, more WR's are a priority.
October 31st, 2012 at 12:23 PM ^
Remember when Darboh was the talk of the town after the spring?
October 31st, 2012 at 12:25 PM ^
Darboh was an Iowa high school student in the spring.
Also, if you look at this:
Jackson - J. Robinson - R. Miller - Dileo - Gallon - Darboh - Chesson
and see more than 1 solid starting WR in 2013, go to the eye doctor. This team needs WRs.
October 31st, 2012 at 12:54 PM ^
God, that's downright terrifying.
October 31st, 2012 at 2:54 PM ^
October 31st, 2012 at 12:29 PM ^
I'm sure that nobody is ready to count Chesson and Darboh as sure things at this point.
Our return corps will be:
Dileo - SR
Gallon - SR
Jackson - SR
Darboh - Soph
Chesson - RS Freshman
Robinson - RS JR
that's pretty dark.
October 31st, 2012 at 12:33 PM ^
It's better than this year's WR group because Darboh/Chesson in their 2nd year are probably better than Roundtree (at least on the outside)...and those three seniors should be further improved as well. Plus you get the 3 freshman (or more?) getting a shot.
Anyway, that's plenty of depth for a team that will continue to run a lot of 2TE sets.
October 31st, 2012 at 12:41 PM ^
It's plenty of depth, yes. but the two players closest to "established" on that list are seniors (Dileo, Gallon). I think it makes sense to get a bunch of guys at this point, given that we don't know for sure if we have ANYTHING at this point
October 31st, 2012 at 1:26 PM ^
Esepcially once Dileo, Gallon, and Jackson depart - you don't even have a reliable complementary/slot/possession guy anymore.
They have to buy as many lotto tickets as they can.
The Jones offer/commitment could mean a number of things or a combination of a number of them.
WR is obviously a need but taking 4 seems like overkill for an offense that is investing heavily in TEs, FBs, and RBs. OL and QB aren't positions that I want to skimp on numbers at....though I do take it as sign of confidence in the '12 OL class that they aren't seeking to replace Dawson exclusively with another OL. Especially considering most (all?) of those kids are going to play extensively next year.
October 31st, 2012 at 1:28 PM ^
Are we THAT invested in RB's? The approach, to me, appears to be similar to our WR approach - a slew of 3-stars, with a very highly-rated hope in play.
