Welcome to MGoBlog Martavious Odoms!
It was easy to miss unless you were looking through old threads (as I was), but Martavious Odoms (http://mgoblog.com/users/martaviousodoms ) joined our MGoCommunity a few days ago. Here is what Tae had to say in a previous thread regarding the Hope for Pahokee Kickstarter:
"I would like to say that I'm do proud to be a graduate of the university of Michigan. I would like to take this time to thank all of the fans for the amazing support you have given me over the past four years. I also would like to thank everyone for the continued support shown off the field for hope for pahokee and #eating. It has not been all about giving money but all of the time and support has meant more to me then any of you understand. Again I cannot thank you all enough.
Martavious Odoms, Tae Odoms,Tae or odoms whatever you may call me thanks.
I miss my #9 jersey and having on my wing helmet already.
"
So everyone who hasn't had the chance and has the means to help, you still have time! It's a great cause represented by a true Michigan Man. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1021358459/hope-eating-from-garden-to-table-season-one?ref=live
P.S. We miss you out there too, Tae!
EDIT: Tracking the kickstarter, over 700 bucks from 20 pledgers have come in during the two hours since this thread started. Still a long way to go, though.

Although just being a freshman, I just emailed the alumni association regarding this. I feel like if we can get the thousands upon thousands of alumni that don't read this blog to learn about this, the number of backers and amount of money given will skyrocket. Because let's be honest, $16,000 is a lot of money, but 400 backers isn't nearly that many considering what could and should be happening with this charity right now.

Thank you. Thank you for all of your hard work on the field. Thank you for all of your hard work off the field. Thank you for representing Michigan in such a classy way. We're used to Michigan Men representing in a classy way; only you know how much work actually goes into it.
Here is the kickstarter website once again:

Just a note on fundraising: Next time use Indiegogo for something like this. They have flexible funding options, so you still get the money even if the whole amount hasn't been raised. The site is also more tailored to non-profits.

We will get your 35k...guaranteed! Thanks for your hard work and dedication. You are truly an amazing story and representative of not only the football team but the University.

Missed previous posts for this kickstarter, been busy lately. Just pledged $25 (#EATING shirt reward, most I can afford as an undergrad who is about to apply for graduate school). This is really cool, you the man Tae!

Glad to see you on here Martavious. I donated $35 the other day and can't wait to get the basketball shorts, and of course see what you do in the community as well. Growing some of your own food is really important for a community, this is a great way to start off and I know there are a lot more things you can do in Pahokee.

Tae was a bright spot during a very dark time in Michigan football. He has made the most of his Michigan experience and is now making a difference in the lives of another generation.
I made a donation tonight and hopefully he will hit the goal and continue the great work he is doing.
A lot of people have been looking for the definition of a Michigan man. I think we have found a perfect definition - Tae Odoms!

Just checked again and the kickstarter is over half way to the goal!
Let's show them the Michigan difference and make this thing happen.

I work daily with US Sugar and Florida Crystals and I will let them know about the site. Since they are out your way hopefully they can drop some help as well.

I kicked in the other day when I saw Brian post about this.
I even got my mom to pledge. She's a master gardener and has done a lot of volunteering on Belle Isle. I'd love to see this thing blow up and potentially lead to something in Detroit.
Really proud to see a great Michigan Man do such good work.

Thanks Tae this is a great idea.

the first time I read it, but I did not get off my ass to do anything.
This thread was the push I needed to join my fellow bloggers and alumni in supporting Tae's project.

/would doff hat if wearing one....
I know when I got out of Michigan, I wanted to make a buck, pocket some cabbage, you know, earn a living. I was pretty self-centered, as were most of my associates. Mr. Odoms is giving and leading right out of school, and that is something the Michigan Football family can be proud of. If he can instill just a part of that in the lives of the people this project will touch, who knows what blossoms? Visit the desert after a rainfall and see what just a little water can do.
I made my contribution, but consider it fair payment for the lesson Mr. Odoms would teach.

I just donated. Let's keep this moving, who's next?
