OT: Weekly Friday "What are you doing?" Posbang Thread
Its that time again . . . Time for the purculator!

(Does anyone remember this song? Does it not remind you of that old Atari game called Qbert? Anyone with me? No?)
Anyway, time to find out what the MGoCommunity is up to today. Me, I've finally found a buyer for my used Accord and am closing the transaction this afternoon. Its a lot of work - notary, bill of sale, making sure funds are certified and good, etc. But I'm getting $2,000 more than the dealer offered me for trade-in so its worth it! Glad the whole process is finished though. Then its on to buying a new Pilot next week in time for the big annual family beach trip to Wild Dunes, South Carolina . . .
Other than selling/buying cars, I'll be here going through about 30 different loan documents and reporting up the chain about them. Ah, the joys of corporate America. Not to mention the fact that both of my bosses are out of their respective offices today so I get the great pleasure of being the only one servicing (no, not in the way that you think I mean) both the LA and Charlotte offices. That ought to be a rip-roaring great time! F--- me.
What are you all up to? Anything interesting? Did you just come for the posbang? If so, bend over!
P.S. Posbanged myself and it felt ooooh so good. Not too hard, not too soft. Just what I needed.
Bayless is an absolute tool and Cuban used him as such in that clip!
Doing the work/lunch thing now, but tonight we're set to go see Brave and probably Rock of Ages tonight at the drive-in. Probably going to visit my dad at a Relay for Life event afterwards.
over throwing the government of a small carribean island nation over the weekend then inviting all of MGOBLOG nation down for a big beach party next weekend. I'll keep you posted........
Should be an exciting match with the added drama of the Euro debt crisis and austerity measures in the background for both countries.
I have a slew of financial and credit analyses to complete today - sometimes they suck, sometimes not so bad - just depends on how complete the files are.
This weekend I'm attending a bachelor party in Windsor for a high school friend who is making the worst decision of his life this July. So, we'll try to send him off properly.
I made sure I spent several hours doing it. I also, moved my desk phone and when it wasn't working, I was made aware that I hade put the cable "in the wrong hole" (pun intended.) Waiting for 5pm.
At least it is that simple in your office. The software that our telecommunications group uses has each phone statically assigned to a cubicle, so you can't simply move it. If you do, it will go right to voicemail once you plug it in unless you specifically request that the calls are forwarded to that node or until the IT ticket to get the phone reassigned goes through. Yes, this is quite dumb.
Im working my ass off to make a stage gate. Good times. Had to take a few to check the blog. After I'm done, drinks. I visited the Appalacian Brewing Company (ABC) this week. I swear the mantra of the brewery must be, "we don't want to offend anyone's palate" and so the beer was completely lacking distinction. Do Not Attempt.
I've always been partial to primer gray with bondo accents.
Working. Thinking about beer and hoping we don't get a hurricane from that omninous blob in the Gulf of Mexico. I deep fried bacon last night too, which is about the most awesome thing I've done in my life so far. Happy Friday!
Leaving work early to buy a used truck. Anyone have any heads up on mechanical issues for a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Z71 ext cab with 135,000 miles? I know, it's not a Ford/Dodge/Toyota/Nissan (haters gonna hate). I have a Ford now but it's a standard cab. I tried ratchet strapping the car seat in the bed but someone showed up at my house with an Alabama hat for me to wear ; ) Trying to dwindle my fleet by selling car and truck for ext cab truck. Still gets 20 mpg highway with a 5.3 V8. If any of you MGoGearheads don't have one, I got an OBD code reader and Torque for my Android phone. It's amazing the real time info you can get for $30.
I'm here for the posbang...
I have yet to bill a damn hour yet today, gotta slog through to get home, my dad's up visiting from Ohio. Gonna try to get some landscaping done, cross things off the wife's do-to list. I thought about writing a diary on here today after I saw CRex's epic stories, I have a few funny ones I think would entertain some people on here, even though they come from a Buckeye fan.
In case you haven't noticed, the exploits of Buckeye fans - like the one that inspired my sig - are always prime entertainment :P
Just finished reserving a stump grinder rental for tommorrow. Oh what joy. I am a little excited to use it though.
Be sure to let me know how that works out for you because I have just been doing rock salt and charcoal burning, with a steady combo of digging and chopping with an axe.
Sure will. I would have done that method in the past but with the toddler running my life I just don't have the time or energy anymore. I do enjoy swinging an axe, it's much fun.
Are we actually griding stumps or will there be a "Fargo" reenactment involved? Just curious.
Nothing to see here, move along people.
Getting ready for a garage sale and not looking forward to dragging all of the junk out of the house just to drag most of it back in the house afterwards. Yay.
Enjoying (i.e. reading, drinking, smoking weed, playing with my dog) my first full week of not teaching during summer vacation!
That sounds like a pretty solid vacation, although I would substitute more drinking for weed.
The guy buying my car is a pilot for Jet Blue. From the sounds of it, its a pretty neat profession.
Are you a former Air Force guy?
Working out a hydraulic simulation software and then trying to continue getting back into running shape after work.
Running in the summer is rough. Good luck, stay hydrated.
either find a path with water fountains or bring some. I did both monday, 87 degrees is not a good way to run 6.5 miles. Luckily tomorrow morning's 8 miles should be cooler.
Yeah, this heat is rough. I'm finding the best time to run is before 6am which is lot easier this time of the year when the birds start singing at 5am.
Good call. Plus, lot less traffic, both people and automotive at that hour. Even muggers aren't up that early.
Gonna meet my mom for dinner after work. Hosting a bbq tomorrow afternoon. Softball doubleheader on Sunday morning which should lead into a proper Sunday Funday at the bar that sponsors our team.
I will be selling chicken and biscuits to the elderly this evening. It's okay to be jealous.
Having a few friends over for some BBQ chicken, beer, maybe a cigar or two later on. Gorgeous day for it here in Royal Oak!
Trying to figure out where to take my husband tonight for dinner. Yesterday he "defended"/presented his thesis and is essentially done with his degree, minus some annoying paperwork issues.
This weekend may include a stop in at the MGoGetHired group on linkedin to find him a job.
