New Michigan tattoo
I have always wanted a Michigan tattoo but have never really seen anything that I like, so I came up with this idea. It is not finished because I have to add the background, blood on the claws and mascot heads, and incorporate the Notre Dame mascot (because most of my friends are Notre Dame fans). It was done around 2 hours ago so the colors aren't real bright yet. Also, sorry about the angle, it was the best I could get to show everything (right side looks a little screwy like this). Let me know what you guys think and any ideas that you may have to finish it.
EDIT: for misspelling screwy

Have you been doing the meth again??
Just kidding, looks awesome. No ideas on how to incorporate those other things though.

Might be the angle but the proportions look very weird to me. The face also looks really weird to me, like it wasn't done correctly.

That's exactly what someone wants to hear about a tattoo. :)

Clearly Wolverine is sufferring from slackjaw
February 16th, 2012 at 2:09 PM ^
Then the jaw will look fine. OP, just giving you some flak. It is cool that you are that passionate about Michigan.

The idea is cool but I have to be honest the artwork is pretty bad. It looks like it was done by a semi talented 6th grader. I'm sorry just my opinion
February 16th, 2012 at 12:34 AM ^
The angle makes it look worse than what it is because it wraps around my arm a little and I wanted to add some emphasis on Brutus for the photo. It was actually my idea on the face because I wanted the wolverine to be a little evil and will add fangs later. Just a work in progress. Thanks for the comments.

No offense Wolverman, but I dont think many of us have the art skills to pull of anything near that. Especially me as I still rock the stick people
February 16th, 2012 at 10:36 AM ^
But presumably if you were getting an elaborate tattoo, you'd find someone who DOES have the skills to pull it off, no?
February 16th, 2012 at 12:16 PM ^
Depends on the budget. Not everyone has a couple of grand to drop on a tattoo.
February 16th, 2012 at 12:37 PM ^
it should read "not everyone had signed memorabilia to trade for tattoos"
February 16th, 2012 at 12:39 PM ^
here's Kate Upton for your trouble
February 16th, 2012 at 4:11 PM ^
Generally, those that have a couple of grand to drop on a tattoo, don't have tattoos ... and if they do, it's not something like this disasterpiece.
February 16th, 2012 at 5:24 PM ^
Then maybe they shouldn't get one. Generally speaking, if you're going to be stuck with something for life, you probably don't want to skimp on it.

have fun trying to get a job.

His legs were cut off a few seconds ago and are now in the process of spontaneously regenerating?
February 16th, 2012 at 8:58 AM ^
wait so zack Novak is really wolverine?
February 16th, 2012 at 10:36 AM ^
Are you actually surprised by this revelation?
February 16th, 2012 at 12:38 AM ^
Add some clovers in his teeth or maybe like a leprechaun leg in his teeth to incorporate ND.

The messed-up proportions are a result of the angle of the photo. It's permanent and the guy likes it so leave him alone.
February 16th, 2012 at 12:29 PM ^
You really shouldn't post a picture of your new tattoo on a message board if you weren't prepared for some criticism.
February 16th, 2012 at 12:46 AM ^
matter what we think. it is pernament art work on your arm.
February 16th, 2012 at 12:47 AM ^
I like it. I have been trying to think of a cool michigan tatto idea and this is what I've got:
I tried sketching the outlines of some pictures and as you can see, I am a shitty drawer. The object in the middle of the block M is supposed to be an outline of a wolverine. I want the wolverine face to be real vicious so I am going to use this:
I want the spartan helmet to be crushed in, Brutus to be bleeding, and the fighting irish guy looking up in fear.
I would also like a pro to clean it up which is what the tattoo artist is for.
February 16th, 2012 at 12:51 AM ^
After all that thinking, all you came up with was a question mark inside of a box? How does that represent Michigan? You're going to have to try much harder than that to impress me, man.
February 16th, 2012 at 12:52 AM ^
To be fair he did say he was a shitty drawer
February 16th, 2012 at 8:20 AM ^
... it's one of those "apply with water" appliques. You can always wash it off and start over.
February 16th, 2012 at 1:00 AM ^
Yeah, I don't know what to tell you. The pictures are coming up for me...
February 16th, 2012 at 6:42 AM ^
That's because you linked to them on your computer. Since we're not on your computer, we can't see them. Put 'em on the internet and you'll be all set.
February 16th, 2012 at 10:34 AM ^
This is the wolverine's face I want to use. I am working on uploading the other picture I into a format suitable for the internet.

Not sure how many of us have arizona state usernames...
February 16th, 2012 at 12:17 PM ^
Fuck it dude, lets go bowling.
I'm done trying.
February 16th, 2012 at 1:21 PM ^
I have an ASU username. There are plenty of us on this board with them. I know that for a fact.
February 16th, 2012 at 1:08 AM ^
I have also been thinking of getting a michigan tattoo. You know the NFL commericial where the steeler's fan has the list of the superbowls the steelers won on his arm? I want to do that with Michigan national championships somehow, and list each year they won it. Only problem is I hate needles, and if I want to keep up with it, I would be back in the parlor a couple times a decade.
February 16th, 2012 at 10:53 AM ^
ok, what? "A couple times a decade" ??
February 16th, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^
Perhaps GoBlueGB meant to say "a half visit per generation" ??
February 16th, 2012 at 12:50 AM ^
some work on those biceps too..........
February 16th, 2012 at 12:51 AM ^
this tattoo relate in any way to Michigan again? New Wolverine Tattoo would have been a better title but still wouldn't have made that anywhere near a cool tat.
Don't do Meth!

I have a feeling this came into play at some pointe...

I will explain the entire process. I like the Michigan Wolverines. I like the comic book character Wolverine. I like the tattoo that Lamarr Woodley has. I did a Google image search for Wolverine. I wanted an image that was a little evil and violent and found the image on Page 1 (ymmv). I printed the image along with the mascots and took them with me to the tattoo parlor and told him that I wanted to incorporate these things together. This is what we came up with. It is not finished. I did not create the image of Wolverine. I did not create his claws. I did not create Brutus the Buckeye. I did not create Sparty. I only created the concept. I hope I do not have to continue. I used the word "idea" loosely and I apologize.

Is that a real tattoo, already done?
February 16th, 2012 at 1:03 AM ^
Travolta chin.
February 16th, 2012 at 1:31 AM ^
beheaded Leprechaun in front of him. That'd go with the theme of the tattoo.
February 16th, 2012 at 2:05 AM ^
This tattoo plays right into the Wal-Mart wolverine stereotype. I'm not a fan of it at all, but as long as you like it, that's all that matters.
Remember all the shit we gave Jerel Worthy about his stupid tattoo? Putting something permanent on your arm that has so much room for improvement (i.e., not existing) will lead to criticism.
At least Worthy had the muscles to rock his tattoo.
February 16th, 2012 at 10:32 AM ^
Yes, it does. LOL ... smh.
