With so many recruits and not much time for the recruiting services to get a comprehensie glimpse of what's out there, it seems that this is a kid that slipped through the cracks. They probably saw his early offers, gave him a generic 3*, and figured they'd re-evaluate and just haven't (yet). |

| 2 weeks 6 days ago | I was a miler in high school |
I was a miler in high school (and for about a month at michigan until i realized i liked college much more than running) and the most attention I received was following good times/wins at regional and state meets. If results are also posted online these days for district meets, I'm sure those are browsed through by recruiting assistants as well. My hs coach didn't do much to reach out to coaches but he did contact the freepress if I had a great week and got me named "prep star of the week" a few times. I would say its a lot of little things in addition to personally contacting coach's offices and attending camps. If your studs are also great students I would provide grades with times. Many schools (Michigan included) don't give out full rides until a runner performs well on campus, so it's a good idea to let these coaches know that they won't have to wrestle with admissions if they are only going to give your kids a preferred walk on spot. |
| 3 weeks 11 hours ago | DG can play both |
Keep in mind this was high school football, but I was in the same position DG is in now. After splitting starting duties at QB on the Freshman squad with a teammate of mine, I was promoted up to Varsity to back up our JR-stud qb for my sophomore year. Having spent all of training camp in a back-up roll (and wanting to play on the JV squad with my friends) I asked to be moved down. By then, my friend had the QB job nailed down so I moved to WR on offense while still assuming the roll of the backup QB. I will tell you that it was quite possible to play WR and QB and not miss a step. You get less reps at each position and therefore may lose a little bit of your timing as a QB-- but if anything I think it gave me a better perspective of the field playing both pitcher and catcher. The key was that I put in extra time outside of practice (without coaches present) at both positions so if DG has the work ethic there's no reason he cant excel at both positions. The QB knows the responsibilities of every single person on the field in every formation, versus any defense. Footwork and technique may drop a little but there's no mental diadvantage to playing both positions. |

Points trickle down though... if the people with less than 100 points want to post their own content then they just need to post more quality content. Without those who have a large amount of points starting board topics and diaries, those with less points wouldn't be able to comment and earn points of their own. |
