Shane Morris & Team Detroit Win IMG Madden 7 on 7
For Detroit Maximum Exposure, quarterback Shane Morris and running back Dennis Norfleet were voted co-mvps by Scout.com for leading their team to victory. The final score was Detroit 28 and Team Tampa 16, in a game that was not as close as the final score indicated.
Detriot quarterback Shane Morris, a Michigan commit and top 2013 prospect, struggled early Saturday; but once he found his game he was nearly unstoppable over the next two days.
Good to hear Morris had a great showing.
It's nice to know our boys from up North stuck it to the kids from heralded SEC country. Especially on the shoulders of a QB who bleeds maize and blue.
There were teams from Tenn, Virginia, Philly and several from Florida.
A national tournament with a lot of top players? Will this help to hype Morris on the recruiting sites? Any great receivers there he may have been recruiting?
respect. Just a preview.
Keep working hard young man and can't wait to see you in the maize and blue!
Atta boy Shane! Represent Big Blue!
Shane represents Michigan, not Kentucky.
I can't stand seeing that. Especially on a Michigan board
Or IBM
Let's leave the "big blue" to Brent Musberger, k?
Dudes. Mountains and molehills. Fine. You don't like that being used. I get it. Honestly, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that the "big blue" reference is going to go away any time soon. ABC, ESPN, and any one else broadcasting Michigan games will probably continue to use it for a long time to come. Unfortunate as you may think that is, it is what it is. In addition, I'm fairly certain Bob Ufer used it after we beat Notre Dame a while back. That said, and given what's occurred here, consider it ridden from my mgoblog vocabulary.
Things that are not Big Blue:
Everything else, including the University of Michigan
with all the recordings of Bob Ufer available, I think you'll need a link to prove yourself.
But if you want to compete on memory, I listened to Bob Ufer announce games on the radio when I was a kid (while watching the TV with the volume down) and he never used the phrase "big blue". He always said, "Meechigan" because that is how Yost said it.
He would describe the team as "in Maize and Blue", which are a pretty unique set of colors. Other teams are Blue and Gold, but Maize is the color name used for Michigan.
And that's why everyone hates Brent Musberger or any other announcer saying "big blue".
And that's why you should stop using it.
The last line of what I responded with.
Ask and you shall recieve.
Go to about 4:45 and listen on. He says it twice.
I like it.
Brady's Big Blue Machine coming to a stadium near you?

Also:
There were definitely some top players there.
Everyone in Michigan is rooting for you boys.
Hi, this is my first time posting on the boards, but I've been reading for quite some time and I too had my f5 key dismantled from friday haha. Bringing such a high quality quarterback as Shane for 2013 would probably help bring in some top level receiving talent as well. That is, if I were Shane, I would definitely recruit some top receivers to help me get to the NFL.
star QB + star receivers + monstrous defense and who knows... maybe a national championship in 2014? I'm excited.
Hopefully Morris is able to bring in an elite WR duo like Henson did with Terrell and Walker
You've got to think Shane is chomping at the bit to get behind this OL class too. The pieces are really coming together.
In the Semi-final game the IMG guy had the Max Ex coach mic'ed up and filmed Shane the whole game...so maybe on the IMG web site?
Just highlighting what was said about Thompson in that there article as well....
"Ronald Thompson: The 6-foot-4, 240-pound tight end from Southfield (Mich.) High was Morris’ favorite deep target. A nice route runner, Thompson found the end zone numerous times on Sunday in helping Maximum Exposure win the championship."

Does anyone know why Norfleet isn't getting some bigger offers? The kids film is very impressive. He's undersized but extremely fast. Every camp/event he's been a part of has resulted in positive reviews.
On another note, Shane Morris is an absolute beast. I haven't heard this much hype since the great Jimmy Clawson (just kidding). But I'd have to agree, Morris committing this early is the greatest thing for Michigan. On his current 5* campaign, he's earning self exposure as well as Michigan exposure. He seems like the kind of kid that will recruit for Michigan at all costs. Going down to SEC country and taking home the tourney isn't east.
It's almost sad how excited I am for a 16 year old kid.
Believe me, I know how good Dennis Norfleet is. I attend Renaissance HS and he torched us for either 5 or 6 touchdowns. He is extremely fast too.
Maybe his recruitment will start to pick up. He's too good to go unnoticed.
I'm sure he is noticed, but hasn't picked up many offers for some reason. One reason can be his size and that many teams might not see him as a every down back.
I think that he also has the ability to be a goof KR or PR guy so that should give him more value.
"I think he also has the ability to be a goof"
BH doesn't tolerate goofs, so I guess that's why he hasn't got an offer yet.
j/k
Poor kid might have to end up at State.. I feel bad for him and hope he picks up better offers than that. But I think there's no way we offer him, as he was a perfect fit for RR, but we're trying to transition, and he just does not fit the bill for MANBALL. Which is too bad.
That State is the hotbed for RBs. He can't play there....dripping with sarcasm!!! Fuck Dantonio...(see Glenn Winston)
I think the main reason is just that Norfleet isn't an "elite" back with prototypical size. Plus it seems like there are a lot of uncommitted running backs right now. Once those guys start dropping for various schools, then I think Norfleet will be in the next wave of offers. I could see him ending up at a lower tier BCS program.
So you think he'll be a Wolverine
"Going down to SEC country and taking home a tourney isn't east"
Well....it's southeast.
If you mean beast as in good, I agree. If you mean beast as in big and mean looking, not so much.
The kid is lean...I mean lean. Probably has a 26" or 28" waist. Upperbody is well developed but he is not sporting huge muscles...
Gotta wonder how the recruiting services will take to Morris with him being comitted so early.
I saw 247, Foxsports, rivals, scout and ESPN all over him after them game...more recruiting guys than spectators.
IMG really controls who gets in and I'm not kidding, players, coaches, media and parents only...no other spectators were allowed.
Being a younger guy, you would expect him to start slow sometimes which is just part of the maturation process (he hasn't even started his junior year). However, when he zeros into the zone, the kid goes off the chart. As he continues to develop, he will find that zone more easily and I am really excited about watching him play for us.
Wow. It's crazy to think that we still have to play two whole seasons before Shane even sets foot on campus as a true freshment.
