Does he like turtles?
I thought RichRod recruiting for his offense only. What offensive position is this guy?
Slot.
Also curious, seconding this response in hope for an answer.
Man, I'm in the middle of a hard day, took my lunch break and read that, cool :)
All these 3-stars are starting to piss me off.
Oh oh oh...but but but...he's a 4 star on Scout. So obviously Scouts rating is the shit and Rivals is just shitty.
/End Lame Sarcastic Rant
(I'm sick as hell and bored out of my skull)
Even though we'll have a lot of 3 stars I still think we'll be 38% better now that Shaffer's gone.
By opening game we'll be up to 49% better, which puts us at 4.47 wins.
...his offers. Despite his 3-star ranking on rivals, he has gathered an impressive offer list.
...was kidding.
you would think they would have learned.
Would of...
...understand now. I am just so tired of hearing people bitch about stars and recruit ratings. Glad to hear you were being sarcastic. I like turtles.
I agree I was hoping for more two stars
Me too. Did you know Pat White was a two-star?
he should be a 6 star. This gives him the right to piss in fat charlies 6 boxes of mini wheats each morning.
are you saying I don't have that right? I better go apologize.
I remember hearing about these way back in the days of Lloyd Carr. Imagine the possibilities if one of them actually made it through the program and got on the field!!!
In all seriousness, seems like a good, coachable kid and I love the reasoning of wanting to be a part of what's going to happen here. Here's hoping I get to see 'em at the Big 33 next year.
Why should we be particularly excited about Wilkins, aside from the fact he appears to be a good, coachable kid? Doesn't seem overly big or especially fast...
Rivals has him at 6-3, 244lbs. He's not yet a senior in high school. That's good size for his position. I know 40 times are always fake, but the kid seems to move too.
In Gerg We Trust.
Indeed. Keep in mind I'm about 6'3", but going into my senior year of HS, I was only about 5'11". These kids are just that, kids. If they're coachable with good athletic skills and talent, they'll only get bigger and better.
Sweet, Wilkins is going to be 6'7" by the time he gets to campus!
I am only 38% sure of that.
to come to this conclusion?
I figured it was the pythagorean theorem.
look at his offers. You've got to remember that they are recruiting him for the deathbacker position. A mix between DE and OLB or in the words of a scouting service a tweener which generally equals -1 stars.
I'm 100 percent sure you are all annoying.
Then leave.
boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
insult better.
It is obvious you will still be annoyed next February.
we could give a rats ass how annoying you think something is.
I'd say more like 225, but I'm generally optimistic. Half full, you know.
woot woot
Glad to hear that you are a Wolverine. Welcome to the Michigan family and I look forward to seeing you out on the field within the next couple of years. Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy your time at Michigan.
Go Blue!
Stephen Hopkins asked me today why everyone was so mad that we have a lot of three stars (no joke).
He reads MGoBlog, and I explained to him it was a joke. Maybe that joke needs to be put to rest?
I've worried about this exact situation for a while now. Not so much pertaining to any specific recruit, but the whole "do we really want these kids?" meme that seems to grow w/ each commit. Hopefully it doesn't bite us in the arse.
I definitely agree with that, but too an extent. I don't like bashing a particular recruit. Straight up, if RR offered this early and he committed this early, let's (a) trust that RR knows his shit, and (b) not bash the kid until he decommits. Then, as fans, we are actually a detriment to our team. Not what we want.
Howeva, this is part of what playing for a passionate fan base entails. If you don't want people talking about you and criticizing you, play for Baylor. If these kids want to play in the spotlight, they have to take a little bit of what goes along with it. That said, we can keep a lot of that to a minimum.
I agree, and to his defense, he wasn't complaining. He was just wondering why that was being talked about so much.
That's good, we're lucky we have you Tom. It's probably a hard adjustment for a lot of these kids to go from high school players to kids who are talked about ad nauseum across the country.
Because we're pricks! who want all 5 stars!
