You Guys Showed Up Big Last Night. Let's Keep It Going! (Also, Plz Don't Mess with Hawaii)

This is awesome. You guys (and gals) really showed up last night. While OSU and TAM both suffered drops in participation last night, we posted our highest user total yet! Still....OSU and TAM are both still ahead of us in total players. That must be rectified! Once again, it doesn't take very long to create the required reddit account, and from there it takes about 15 seconds per day to get an assignment and execute it.
Now as for the map...it's a tale of two pests. Stanford is being a royal pain for us in the West and once again beat the odds in a couple important territories. Meanwhile, we're being a royal pain for Ohio State in the East. We now own 5 territories in Ohio State's northeastern stronghold, and have made our way up to Buffalo, NY. I imagine OSU would love to get rid of our presence there. IMHO, though, we should keep messing with them. But that's just my opinion ?
Anyway, let's keep this train rolling. Keep signing up, keep playing, and let's overtake OSU and TAM in participation. This will allows us to (eventually) knock out the Cardinal (not even the Cardinals....who you trying to impress Stanford?), as well as continue to weaken the Buckeyes' grip on the NE. Go Blue!

Can someone explain how MVPs are determined?
So everyone puts in to attack or defend a territory. so lets say us and Stanford both attack Cal's territory. 50 of our players and 40 of their players. A random number generator selects one of the players as the MVP, and that player's team wins.
Add onto that "star power." Every player has a star power value between 1 and 5, based on the median value of the number of stars you get from each of the 6 criteria. Players with more stars count as more:
- One star: 1 point
- Two stars: 2 points
- Three stars: 6 points
- Four stars: 12 points
- Five stars: 24 points
So 1 five star attacking a territory has the same odds as 24 one stars.

Can someone explain how MVPs are determined?
RNG, completely random. I've never had one and I've played almost 100 total rounds, but some one stars get multiple. I'm just unlucky I guess, but star power can be derived from consistent play quicker than MVPs.
I signed up yesterday and had my first assignment and got MVP (Nevada). Unfortunately, it was a territory that had no attacks so we were a 100% to maintain it. Hopefully it’s a sign of good luck moving forward!

I was hoping to find out what constituted "messing with Hawaii" and why anyone would have been doing that (or shouldn't).
I've just been following my directive from the collective. No Leeroy Jenkins me!
(I admit, I was a little tempted when I looked and saw that one person had guaranteed himself an MVP by defending an unopposed territory, but I'm going to get some longevity stars soon anyway).

Not mad...yet. But Hawaii is theirs and SDSU is ours. There have been a couple turns where rogues from both our sides have messed with that, and we've successfully restored order the next turn. Let's keep that up.

Quick question: my instructions yesterday were to defend a team that doesn't have any territories left on the board. I did it, but.... just want to make sure that's legit?
CFB risk noob. Private, lowest class.
The territories are named based on what team owned them when the game started. So Ann Arbor is still called Michigan, even though we don't own it. So when you are asked to attack or defend, it doesn't matter whether the team is still in play. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and select your assignment!

I think the game would make a lot more sense to new users if they used city and/or stadium names for the territories. I see this question come up a lot. Attacking "The Horseshoe," for example, is unambiguous.
Interesting idea, but not sure if it would work across the board. An order to defend <SDSU's Stadium> would likely result in confusion.
So I just signed up, but when I got to choose a team I typed in Michigan and then it chose Air Force for me....
Is there a way to change my team affiliation? I chose to fight for Michigan but I'm not sure the value I'm providing at this point.

My streak of consecutive turns broken *again* even though it said 'my assignment was successfully submitted" today. Still a two star overall anyway, but still rankles.

What do you guys want us to do when "get an assignment" responds with "assignment" instead of a real assignment?
Last time, I waited to see if it would fix, but then forgot, and ended up losing all my stars for missing the turn.
Probably better for me to put in something that nothing, but it was mentioned before that if you click "get assignment" and don't do it, there are problems.
