Definitely agree here. I…

Definitely agree here. I have been saying for weeks that OSU was the toughest game of the year for us. In my eyes - they were the #2 team in the country, with only Georgia/Alabama having a potential claim for that spot.

OSU is overreacting accordingly in my eyes. They just watched their rival win the national championship and are taking rapid steps to win one in short order to reestablish themselves as the dominant B10 team and force the world to forget about Michigan's season as soon as possible.

Whether it actually works, we will see.

Ehh, been a long time coming…

Ehh, been a long time coming. I live in Northville and pretty much everyone I speak to is happy to see that land be used for something else.

That said, we're all kind of worried about the cascading effects of the move. No one is really particularly enthused about some bland as hell overpriced townhomes replacing the downs. Additionally (as referenced elsewhere in the thread) no one in Plymouth or Northville (the neighborhoods down Beck/Ridge) are excited for it to relocate to that intersection either.

Just got the Pixel Fold and love it. In general you can't go wrong with the latest iteration of the Pixel. Great cameras and always fun to use and are updated frequently

Would have to agree with…

Would have to agree with this. I don't either show even sniffs a top 5. Though Succession might eke it's way into the tail end of a top 10. Maisel is good, with some top notch writing, but at not point was I so invested as to completely binge it (like with The Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, GoT, and the like).

Also agree that Ted Lasso is good but certainly not top 10. I enjoy it, but I'm admittedly biased due to my love for soccer/int'l football, Jason Sudekis, and Bill Lawrence.

Recent binge of The Diplomat was worth my time for those looking for something new.

For those that are doing…

For those that are doing their part (even though they don't want to join Discord, which i understand), I commend you.

Another way that even rogues can help out is by recruiting as many friends/family to join the cause as you possibly can. I have about a dozen friends/family that are helping out now that just weren't willing to join discord and get orders.

With everyone in the game essentially hating us, we can still easily overwhelm them with pure volume of players if you all keep recruiting!!

We really really need active…

We really really need active players to continue to recruit. While we're holding strong, OSU is gaining on us rapidly in terms of players and star power. Tell your family, friends, neighbors, etc that we need their strength!

Most people likely won't go through the trouble of creating a discord account/vetting process but, like someone in the thread has mentioned, just creating the Reddit account and contributing to the cause helps.

I'd highly recommend joining…

I'd highly recommend joining. I watched from the sidelines season 1 and joined the latter half of season 2. Going all in this time and recruiting friends and family to join the cause. It's a lot of fun for such little time commitment (like 5 minutes a day at most lol).

I got one of the first Mach E's that got delivered. Very very nice car, feels premium, quick as all hell and just super fun to drive. Zero anxiety when it comes to charging or getting myself where we need to go.

That said...I pre-ordered a Cybertruck dual motor and my next purchase will be that or a Model S (we currently only have 1 car because full time remote). The most glaring misses from the Mach E are Sync 4.x and the app and pretty horrendous compared to the software in a Tesla. I know these things can be improved with time but I've never used a single version of Sync that didn't piss me the hell off.

Tesla may have lost market share but they are still leagues ahead of the new entrants in the EV market. Ether way, competition is good and I'm hoping to see Ford step it up since they have the weight to really push the EV price point even lower... Just ffs get it together with the software

Was the Alaska move planned?…

Was the Alaska move planned? Just wondering if it was part of the alliance plan to shift that to a Nebraska territory.

I was banned for non compliance for reasons I don't fully understand. Not sure how much it helps or hurts.

I fell off on participation but will continue to make pro Michigan moves for the time being. Is there any way to start receiving orders again?

So I just signed up, but when I got to choose a team I typed in Michigan and then it chose Air Force for me....

Is there a way to change my team affiliation? I chose to fight for Michigan but I'm not sure the value I'm providing at this point.

Six Feet Under was the…

Six Feet Under was the correct answer. Never has a show ended do uniquely and memorably. That episode stands as the only proof that I am not dead inside, because it kicks me square in the feels.

I go to a few EPL or Serie A…

I go to a few EPL or Serie A matches every year. But tickets from the team site or Viagogo.

After reading the series…

After reading the series several times, it seems like it's a very common theme that things often end with vengeance/vindication, but never happiness.

That being said, as this is TV and not books, I can't see any way where both Jon and Dany die. One of them? Sure. A situation where both die leaves us in a Cersei/Branking scenario (the former of which would outrage fans, the latter of which hasn't been appropriately setup in previous seasons imo).

My current guess is that Dany dies, Bran dies, Arya dies, Jon ends up marrying Cersei for reasons currently unknown because life's not fair and this show breeds anguish.

It is always so funny to…

It is always so funny to read this comment re: Book 4. After my first read of the series it was far and away my least favorite of the series. Having read the books 5 times now, books 4 and 5 are easily my favorite.

Right?

I don't get the hate for Pep. He had one year where John okorn and freshmen WRs were the tools at his disposal. I'm not saying he's great but he at least gets the opportunity to prove that he's good (or bad). Drevno now has a track record of poor performance. The fact that he is still here is mind boggling.

Except college football

Except college football

he's still right

Even if you've only watched the first 3-4 seasons it's enough. The TV show has really butchered his character arc.

Before every GoT season

I made it a point to read them all before each GoT season to keep the stories appropriately separated in my head.

A side motivation is to preserve the intrigue of the original books. It's absurd to me that people poop on Feast and DWD. The hardcore readers typically possess the exact opposite sentiment.

Agreed

I've read all three way through five times. After my first read I was really disappointed in Feast and DWD.

Around my third read through they started to really click, and after five reads Feast and DWD are easily my favorites.

The series evolves from a story about a kingdom into a story about characters which is difficult at first to accept as a reader. But as you establish a connection and empathy towards the characters (Jamie, Arya - I'm looking at you), you grow to appreciate the character growth. All while knowing that soon in WOW, you'll be taken back to the fate of kingdom.

Vehemently disagree that the show is better than the books as someone mentioned below. I think that sentiment is rooted from a lot of the activity on GoT the past 2 seasons. But keep in mind that much of that story (though certainly not all) will come from the books

What this guy said

I travel internationally about 10 times per year and work for one of the major card issuers.

1. Get a card with no foreign transaction fees. I recommend the Chase Sapphire preferred or the AMEX Gold card.

2. Get all cash from the ATMs there. Don't bother with local banks and definitely not the crooks in the airport.

3. Always choose to transact in local currency. Dynamic currency conversion may work out to pennies per transaction but it adds up.

This

Made this decision about ten years ago. Made ESPN infinitely more tolerable.

Nope

I get high a couple times a week and have for a while. I also haven't had to inhale smoke while doing so in a couple years. It's not just joints and bongs anymore

Mostly accurate

Not that it matters. But Marrone wasn't fired from Buffalo. He opted out of his contract intentionally to gtfo... because Buffalo

VPN

I would strongly recommend just investing in a VPN. If you look around you can find deals on getting 1 year of service for less than $50. I got a lifetime subscription to one and have already been able to catch games in Sydney and London this year, and I'll be in Paris for the big ten championship game. It's been a life saver

lol no

"Sure but they're better than msu right?

Iowa almost lost to Rutgers... at home... and didn't score the winning touchdown until about 5 minutes left in the game.

I understand that the past several years have scarred us, but worry not brothers, this will be a bloodbath.

I'm meeting with friends to play "take a shot every time Michigan scores" for this game and fully expect to black out

Freep Warning

Freep Warning

Maybe he's overreacting

But he's also completely right. Our defense was inexplicably shut down in the end of the third quarter and we spent all of the fourth quarter allowing them to chip away at the lead.

Had we committed to one more aggressive TD drive (which would have been simple since, to that point, they hadn't yet forced a punt), the game would have been out of reach.

Baffling

Thanks

Belushi's is the place. Was there last year for the Indiana game. Going to be in Sydney for the msu and Indiana games this year

Good luck

people are going to neg bomb you for no reason but I'll try and help.

there's an alumni group in London that meets in a bar downtown for every game. it's been a year since I've been there so I forget the name but do a search on Facebook for the Michigan alumni in London and they will help out.

Someone is going to point out that we have a sticky or Google doc for this. I'm going to point out that it's extremely outdated

Doubtful

We railroaded DB and he was just a giant douche. Can't imagine how quickly we'd alienate someone that fostered a rape culture

Only if you use Kodi

If you really just want to use Netflix Hulu and Amazon video the stick will be fine. I'm just a cranky old man when it comes to the devices lagging

I have all 3

And can say that based off your description and the fact that you own an rPi (so do i), I'm going to assume that you are somewhat technically savvy.

That said, I can highly recommend none of those 3 options. I would recommend your spend an additional $20 and buy a Nexus player or the full fire TV box and load Kodi on it. Just Google it and you'll get all the info you need. The reason I recommend these is that the hardware bump truly makes a big difference. I find myself wanting to murder my fire TV stick and Roku. And Chromecast of course involves being a bit dependent on your phone(which I'm fine with but you may not be).

Anyway, I cut the cord about 4 years ago now so if you have any questions at all, hardware, software, or UI based I'm happy to help.

Upper Deck

Is upper deck in downtown Scottsdale still open? Used to go there for a lot of M games but it's admittedly been a few years.

I'm sure it's true

It's definitely true, that game became somewhat competitive. Our game was over by the end of the 1st half

Agreed

The only games I see that I would lean towards losses are staee, Stanford, and USC. Two of those three games are at home.

Bravo

Am I crazy

Am I crazy or is Harbaugh wearing a 49er just in that picture with an M just imposed onto his coat?

Ignore the posts then

1) Some people just travel for work (or fun) and like to watch Michigan games amongsts like-minded individuals. Your focus on my supposed 'humblebrag' is cynical and insecure. Grow up.

2) If these threads were useless they would never be posted. People start them, people get the help they requested, people ignore your rage. Move on.

3) The bar thread is rarely updated. If you'll notice in the thread there are people with actual experience in bars in London from no more than a month ago. While the bar thread can be useful, input from local alums/frequent travelers/residents is more useful.

Nobody cares about your posts but you. Please go climax to your points and then come back and downvote my post. Hopefully your post-coital satisfaction will bring you some solace

Excellent!

Thanks a lot man. Have at least 2-3 good suggestions now.

This is correct

I guess I just should have left Brighton out of it. Thank you for being awesome and not jumping at the chance to e-rage

Thank you

Thank you for the honest non-asshat response. Much appreciated, will likely end up here or at the Piccadilly circus spot mentioned.

Didn't realize everyone hates these threads, whenever someone asks about cities that I've lived I just give suggestions and move on.

31-0

Michigan wins 31-0. #MELON

How dare you

How dare you post a message about uniforms. That's WolverineDevotee's job!

FML

that deal is outstanding

That's like $570 value for only $400. both of those games after getting game of the year talk (witcher 3 more so).

Also, PlayStation plus is needed to play games online. Plus you get about 2-3 games free each month. This month's free game, Rocket League, is amazing.
