What sports story, Michigan related or not, would you like to hear ALL the details?

After decoding GJ's post I would really love to hear everything that happened with Xavier Worthy, including the fallout and Gattis reaction.  But we'll probably never know...

What are some of your sports related stories that you would love the scoop on?

Sort of a beaten horse and a moot point now, but I really do want to know more about Lloyd Carr and his true intentions behind everything he did while RichRod was taking over the program. There are so many unanswered questions that we may never know the answers to and speculation sometimes bordering on conspiracy. He has apparently declined to talk about it multiple times.,

Would be nice to confirm what we already suspect regarding Izzo and his covering up sexual assaults at MSU.

Also want to know if Urban Meyer bought stuff online through Zach Smith's amazon account.

  1. I've always been curious to what level, if any, there was regarding internal sabotage towards Rich Rod during his time here.  Not looking to rehash the era in any way, I have just always wondered.
  2. I would love to know if the 1985 NBA lottery was indeed rigged
  3. I guess the 2002 NBA Western Conference Finals stands out, but as a generality I would be curious to know if any 'powers that be' have ever ordered biased officiating and to what degree it took place

The thing I can't get past with JFK...Oswald shot him from behind right? How did that blow his brains out onto the back of the car?  I've watched enough movies where people get shot to consider myself an expert and I reject all ballistics experts who claim that this is possible.

Did Babe Ruth really call his shot in the 1932 World Series?

Was Jose Altuve wearing a buzzer during the playoffs?

How many married women did Orgeron sleep with while coach of LSU?

I would really like to hear how all theses schools mainly SEC Clemson give money to the recruits illegally and why South Carolina State gets punished for it.   Would just like to hear about the dirty stuff that goes on in recruiting.   I think it would be interesting and now we have to add tampering to transfers.

Something I heard on the radio about Duke Coach Mike K.   Heard he is a very disgusting person behind the scenes drugging women and sleeping with them.  It is supposedly suppose to come out in a new tell all book.   I want to know if I heard it wrong and was what I hearing the right thing about Coach K.

Is Tony Soprano still alive?

It's sports-related. Come on, folks, he may not have had the makings of a varsity athlete, but he lettered in football in high school. Those kids from Seton Hall were seven feet tall, some of 'em!!

Oh, we're being serious? Well, some folks here have already named the big ones, like did Babe Ruth really call his shot, what did Carr really do during the RichRod transition. I'd really like to know if Ray Lewis actually knew what happened that night. How many people did Aaron Hernandez really murder? What did Meyer, or even Tebow, really know about him? Also a bit surprised no one here has mentioned OJ. I know that particular discussion can go down a toxic drain of no return but I'd love to know, once and for all, what actually happened.

Thinking beyond sports, what did Pope Leo say to Attilla the Hun that caused him to turn back and not ransack Rome? The Huns looted and pillaged all across Eastern and Central Europe, got to Rome's doorstep and were on the verge of burning the entire place down and taking whatever was left. Then they meet with Pope Leo, and they just turn around and leave. What was said? Here's some money, please go away? There is nothing here but poor harvest and plague-ridden peasants? Rome was already a broken shadow of its former self by the time Attilla showed up. Its amazing they didn't just behead Leo and ransack what was left of the city anyway.

To all the posts talking about the NBA betting scandal I recommend you check out the podcast "Whistleblower" - it's great, and it comes to the conclusion that it was much, much more than just Donaghue.

I want to know if the '16 refs were in fact biased on purpose.  Oh wait, something we don't already know.  Can't really think of anything other than what's already been posted.

I can't reply to existing posts, so .....

  • For many it's gospel that RichRod "ran off" Ryan Mallet. Team Mallet has never said so. I'd like to know what those two talked about.
  • How exactly have Coach K and Bill Self paid their players over the years?

Who was the lineman recruit we lost to Georgia at the last minute several years back?  I remember at the time a lot of insidery people kept saying "More is going to come out on this" but nothing ever did.

I assume it was typical bag man stuff, but wondered if there was more to the story.

1980, U of M coach Farrell has recruited a budding hockey powerhouse.  He leaves and wilf (not a typo) Martin takes over as we start training camp.  Wilf can’t handle the pressure and giordano takes over a month later and single-handedly destroys our team in 3 years.

why did Farrell leave, did wilf hopefully dry out, what ever happened to giordano, and what did don canham do with the petition we all signed to get giordano fired?

Bo vs. Bill Frieder. Lots of smoke about Athletic Director Bo being upset at illegal recruiting practices in the hoops program, culminating in Frieder accepting an arguably worse job (ASU) as the regular season ended. How shady was Frieder, and how much did Bo know?

10 of the top of my head:

2002 Kings vs. Lakers.

Sandusky/JoePa/et al.  I still feel there's a significant piece of the puzzle that is unknown yet.

Is there any truth to the (crazy, but maybe not crazy?!?) Cal Ripken Jr/Kevin Costner story.

Why exactly is Gary Bettman so insistent on Arizona working as a franchise location?  It seems there are significant pieces of this puzzle missing too.

Michael Jordan - why did he retire?

Was Ali/Liston I fixed?  Fight number 2 almost definitely was, but also the first one?

1997 Montreal ScrewJob, was Shawn Michaels also in on it (I think yes)?

Jason Grimsley's already admitted to stealing Albert Belle's bat back in 1994, but I feel that story needs fleshed out further.

Was Jon Gruden a convenient fall guy for Roger Goodell back in October?

How close exactly was PSU to not getting voted into the B1G in 1991?  Who exactly were the yes and nos (there are conflicting reports on this)?  Why did what seemed like a "sure thing vote" when it was announced nearly fall apart?

details on boxing's corrupt history would be interesting.  between old time mobsters pulling strings and then later on don king and some of the other crooked promoters and commissioners, the sports been incredibly corrupt.  still is in many ways, just different
