02/03/2016 - 9:05pm Glad to hear it.

Glad to hear it. Didn't use it my wedding, but in the post-ceremony speeches.

02/02/2016 - 2:42pm 'Authority and American Usage' is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Any thoughts on his commencement speech, 'This is Water'?

08/29/2014 - 6:35pm Herculean.

Thanks so much, Brian. You're a rockstar.

04/25/2014 - 10:29am This is a more tranquil tone

than I expected from Brian.

03/23/2014 - 10:19pm 2nd?

Which one are we not counting....

01/18/2014 - 8:10pm ONIONS!

Way to go fellas.

01/04/2014 - 12:22am Good job,

good effort.

10/22/2012 - 12:26am Hey so,

you probably get this a lot...but, are you, uh...the Proclus?

10/19/2012 - 9:26am ...although he won't actually be at the game?*

10/18/2012 - 12:33pm He does have a game, league championship this weekend...

which is why, I believe, Shallman won't be attending either.

09/13/2012 - 9:58am Math is the most common-sense field there is...

or did you mean "the eye-ball test" instead of "common sense"?

08/31/2012 - 3:12pm Coming this fall, Michael Scarn in...

Fret Level:  Midnight.

08/28/2012 - 9:49am Mmm, Spartan tears taste like sugar...

so yummy and sweet.

Also, RVB just swallows up Persa (?) in one of the Evanston highlights.

07/26/2012 - 6:43pm So, no one's in doubt to start Fall camp...

from an injury perspective?  Not Poole?  Or is that something that gets cleared up on Monday?

04/10/2012 - 8:51am Our 3rd and short defense in that game was...

lights out.

02/24/2012 - 2:05pm Fuck it! Yes!

That's your answer.  That's your answer for everything!  Tatoo it on your forehead!

02/22/2012 - 11:52am No person was defenestrated...

but their hopes were.

Incidentally, I'll be interested to see what Wilbon says today ;)

01/31/2012 - 11:04pm Flamebaited? Come on, these never get old

01/04/2012 - 12:03pm Forgot 2 important ones:

Turnovers, points.

12/08/2011 - 10:45am *NBA Jam voice says* "He's heating up..."

12/08/2011 - 10:24am So, so winner...

12/07/2011 - 2:36pm How is that a "jet" play at all? No one is in motion before

the snap...I thought a jet sweep utilized a man-in-motion who received the ball right after the snap while running full speed.  Hence, "jet."

12/05/2011 - 2:30pm I get the spirit of it, I'm just saying it's stupid...

Moving from 20% to 30% confidence is a relative increase of 50% in confidence; one could argue it IS worth quite a bit.  Indeed, I think ANY improvement would be beneficial in this case.

Further, instituting a playoff would not be that hard, and you are more (though not perfectly) insulated from these kinds of criticisms:  the differences between teams ranked 1-3 are much smaller than the differences between teams ranked 1-6 or 1-8.  The last team out has less of an argument that they are legitimate contenders as you increase the number of teams.  So why not increase the number of teams?

12/05/2011 - 12:30pm You wouldn't want a playoff if it potentially DOUBLES the

fictional accuracy of choosing NC contenders?  Obviously 100% is ideal...but if there is a concrete way to get closer to 100%, you wouldn't do it because it doesn't get you all the way there?

12/04/2011 - 1:23pm Estan en la biblioteca?

Me gustan los commits.  MUCHAS ESTRELLAS, POR FAVOR!!

11/29/2011 - 9:32am When is Wright deciding?

Haven't seen that here....

11/26/2011 - 3:57pm Hail to the seniors...

They were starvin', not anymore!!

11/24/2011 - 1:39pm Take it easy on the delivery guy, Brian...

It's not his fault he can't read!

11/24/2011 - 10:27am "But

if MGoBlog didn't come around to combine that loss with the narrative of the Declining Carr (which then melded into the narrative of Thwarted Rodriguez Promise) and give it that catchy name, it wouldn't seem like that big of a deal. "

No, it is and was a big deal.  It was literally a historical first, you cannot dispute that.  That's why sportswriters will never stop talking about it.

11/22/2011 - 9:36pm Yep, sure came out quickly in the 2nd though, 51 points

in the half for us.

Duke was amazing from 3pt range though.  Even more amazingly, if we make our FT's and shoot a little better from distance (we were 31%), we might have been able to withstand that great shooting performance.

11/22/2011 - 8:31pm Yeah, but at what cost?

At what point does individual talent trump chemistry?  What are others who wanted to visit going to think if you bend the rules for PB?

11/22/2011 - 1:16pm Fisher's going to be good, and we have a small hole at OT

for the immediate future.  That one still stings :(

11/22/2011 - 8:56am Yeah, I had the same reaction....

You won't hear Hoke et al. talk about "balance." Probably won't hear them talk about anything besides winning. And if Meyer doesn't win, Ohio fans will immediately question "balance."

11/21/2011 - 11:10am If La Tech and UTEP can hang within 1 score of Houston...

then I would consider them "beatable" from a UM perspective.

11/20/2011 - 10:32pm Then you need to explain why you think it is so, because

it doesn't seem to me that you have.

11/20/2011 - 10:05pm Kids committed to other schools aren't committed to UM...

if they were committed to UM and they were looking around, Hoke would pull the offer.  But they're committed somewhere else, and Hoke doesn't have any control over over schools' recruiting strategy.  Control what you can control:  how is this hypocritical?

11/17/2011 - 10:26pm Geez Smot...

was that his first basket, inside a minute?  Unfortunately not his best night.

11/17/2011 - 12:44pm Bowdlerize ==

nightmarish GRE flashback.  Thanks.

11/16/2011 - 9:20pm Mathlete,

how accurate have your pre-game predictions been throughout the year?

11/14/2011 - 4:39pm Heh,

when you get your doors blown off by Iowa home...

yeah, you suck, TT.

11/12/2011 - 10:15pm Stanford Offense 2010 vs 2011

I didn't watch Stanford much last year, but it seems to me like their offense has regressed a bit.  I know Owusu is out, but last year they looked "in rhythm" on offense much more than this year.

11/12/2011 - 9:28pm Yummy!

I wish I could find those Hershey's Cookies and Mint bars still....

11/12/2011 - 9:24pm Both top 10 in total offense...

you are essentially stating your ice cream preference.  Both are delicious.

11/12/2011 - 9:22pm So why can't you stand Luck?

He's the one who decided to play more college ball.  He's not the one predicting he'll make it big in the NFL.

11/12/2011 - 8:37pm :(

*looks longingly out the window, ponders*

EDIT:  flamebait?  the mere allusion to DD is flamebait?

11/12/2011 - 7:46pm Well, yeah, in abstraction, 31 points is good...

but by halftime the O had left a bunch of points on the field.  And it seemed like we had a short field today, like half the time!  (I don't know the stats, just going by feel.)

I'm not saying the offense is terrible, just...underachieving?  At any rate, I'm enjoying the win, just trying to say something new in the thread.

11/12/2011 - 7:37pm Frank Clark may be a phenomenal pass rusher, but

he and Black got burned pretty bad on zone-reads (I am positive on Clark, I may be confabulating on Black).

Neither offense got anything going today, which is more disappointing for us, I think.  I thought our offensive line was better than what they showed, Mercilus looked unstoppable.

All in all, today's games just made me more upset about last weekend, we had no business losing to Iowa.  Friggin' Iowa.

11/10/2011 - 3:16pm higbe, will you be posting regularly

here on MGoBlog?  That would be wonderful.

11/09/2011 - 9:06pm FOR YEARS

11/08/2011 - 1:31pm Nice...

why aren't more people talking about Twin City Socks???  They are awesome, best part of 3&Out.
