Expecting a baby girl soon - our first. My wife is an only child so her parents are crazy excited and went nuts with M gear for the baby. She'll come into the world with a stronger M wardrobe game than I have as an alum! Thinking of baby names that start with "M" so everything will be monogrammed for the little one.

There's a new Santa in town

For the past 20+ years, we have celebrated Christmas with various in-laws, kids, and grandparents. Miraculously, Santa and his elves would sort out all the gifts into piles by recipient, late on Christmas Eve. This year, the kids (youngest is a Michigan freshman!) outlasted Santa and the elves. We woke this morning to fully-sorted piles. There is indeed a new Santa in town.

P.S. I received a full size copy of Enthusiasm Unknown to Mankind. Awesome!

My Spartan wife replaced the Nike maize block M t-shirt that she "accidentally" damaged in the wash. It was the only item in the load that was discolored... hmmm. She also gave me the blue bucket hat that's probably too small for my large, dreadlocked head. Good gift though.

Christ is born.

My greatest gift is watching people open the presents I bought for them. What I received was just a bonus. Making people happy is all I want to do. Being a great husband and father is my #1 goal in life. That trumps any national championship.

This is my last Christmas where I'll have a room in my parents house. I gave them many gifts, all of them from the heart. Most of them bought at U-M stores but some photos I framed for them.

For my place and the apartment in MI I'll be getting for when I do come home from school-

A friend hand-made this wood sign. Love it.

I got this print from my sister-in-law.  She also went to Michigan but had no idea of the deeper meaning.  Additionally, this is from a local Portland artist named Brian Cook.  Merry Xmas and Go Blue!

Cutter and Buck, blue zip up with grey piping, M on the front and Go Blue across the back. Extends the number of games I can wear a sweatshirt which is a superstition from my undergrad days. Gotta wear the sweatshirt.

In my stash was a Jumpman T-shirt, a maize & blue hoodie that say's on the front "Welcome Back Home Jim", and a University of Michigan candy bar that's made at "Morley's Candy Company" that's four miles from where I live. I'd rather had a "Hello post from Najee Harris" but it's still early in the day. Merry Christmas !
