I've seen some moping on Facebook/Twitter about the "Meh" second half. There's this thing called "video", guys, and other teams have the ability to use it.

I sat on my hands just a bit in the run-up to this game, in part due to what I will call fandom PTSD stemming from having been at the 2007 game.

Very quickly, as I sat in my seat in the first half, for some reason Star Trek II and Khan's line came to mind - "Do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It is very cold...in space..." Very glad that particular game and demon, if you will, is out of the way.

Thank you team for not taking ASU lightly and doing well. Enjoy the victory and get ready for ND next week. Peppers get well soon please. Thank you.

I don't care if the talent level isn't the same. Speaking as someone who had a 2nd row seat to witness the blocked field goal for The Horror, this felt good. Almost all my hopes were satisfied for this game: No interceptions by Gardner, offensive line actually opening up holes for the running backs, intensity on defense. Only thing that pissed me off was that 97 yard drive against the second stringers. But it's nice that's the main thing that annoyed me. It would have been nice to see another receiver step up besides Funches but there were only 14 passes so I'll live. Hopefully Peppers is alright. I liked what I saw from him in the first quarter.

So I'm one of the crazy Koolaid drinkers. I have posted several times that I think we go 11 - 1 regular season, with a loss to MSU knocking us out of the Big 10 Championship game.

Seeing this game and the OSU game is confirmation for me on this prediction. I think we will win every game against every team this year except for MSU. And actually, right now, I feel better about our chances in E. Lansing than I have so far. Now, beating OSU in Columbus would be cause for a real posbang. Beating ASU was fun, but really, this was a scrimmage, this was an appetizer, this was some cheese and crackers. It's a little bit like a pro team not breaking out the champagne just because you win your division, or an early round of the playoffs. Winning is a great thing. Beating ND, PSU, MSU, & OSU, especially the last two . . . now that is a thing worthy of celebrating. That's steak and lobster and Disneyworld and a big cash bonus. That's what we're in this for.

Fun game to attend. We sit in the section right behind where Desmond Morgan caught the blocked punt. Looking forward to being in South Bend next weekend!!

So, as of 4pm, the Big 10 is undefeated this year!

  • MSU 45 - 7 over Jacksonville St.
  • Minn 42 - 20 over E. Illinois
  • Rutgers 41 - 38 over Washington St.
  • PSU 26 - 24 over UCF
  • Illinois 28 - 17 over Youngstown St.
  • Indiana 28 - 10 over Indiana St.
  • Iowa 31 - 23 over Northern Iowa
  • OSU 34 - 17 over Navy
  • Purdue 43 - 34 over W. Michigan
  • Michigan 52 - 14 over App. St.

It seems very unlikely that we end the day undefeated, but it actually is stiill a real possibility. That would be a first (obv., with 14 teams,) but still, that would be very rare, and a great thing.

I think the Badgers win. If that happens, perception of the B1G will change. Rutgers over WSU, Penn St. over a very good UCF, Ohio coming back against pesky Navy, and Wisconsin over LSU.

This just in: Nortwestern in down 14-0 to Cal.

Go Blue.
