Thanks. I figured that was the case. Because they seemed to want to play him in spots last season.

04/19/2018 - 3:15pm Luigi Vilain

Maybe I missed it, did he get hurt or just not making a push up the depth chart?

05/25/2017 - 12:04pm Exactly, it's funny how good

Exactly, it's funny how good that line became when Emmitt got behind. Before that they were a bunch of castoffs. Not to mention he missed two games after the first Superbowl in a holdout, they lost both and couldn't run the ball.

04/28/2017 - 11:27pm Finally

Some Wolverines join my Cowboys. This draft has been great.

04/18/2017 - 4:31pm Everyone is back accept the

Everyone is back accept the guy he threw most of the arm punts to, Godwin. The reason they have been stomped by Michigan back to back years is they've had no plan after Barkley is stuffed and the arm punt doesn't work. I still don't believe that OL can block Michigan's top front 4. If they can do that it will be a game. We will see.

04/18/2017 - 3:04pm I agree PSU go better,

I agree PSU got better, however I don't think it was the leaps and bounds most claim. They scored over 30 points in the 3 games prior to Michigan. Then after getting crushed went back to scoring over 30 against everyone besides OSU(24) and Minnesota(29). Maybe when they faced a good defense they were not good.

04/15/2017 - 11:49am The TV's

The TV's show the highlights of the player on a loop. So it's meant for everyone else to see that player's highlights.

12/04/2016 - 1:35pm 7 injured defensive starters

Yet they scored 30 or more every game before playing Michigan and 24 or more every game after. Those defensive players really screwed their offense for one game. Ridiculous.

12/04/2016 - 12:44pm Injuries

It's amazing how healthy they were immediately before and after playing Michigan.

12/04/2016 - 12:35pm It's ridiculous

They use the same injury argument for blowing out Colorado in the second half but, ignore Washington blowing out the same injured Colorado. It's just a statement win for Washington. Forget that PSU's offense put up big numbers before playing the Michigan D and immediately after. Same goes for Colorado with/without their starting Qb. It has annoyed me for weeks because it has been used to discredit Michigan blowouts.

11/18/2016 - 8:47pm My first time watching as

My first time watching as well. After reading threads from the first two games I expected to lose both games by double digits. Glad to see it was a massive overreaction. This team is playing unbelievable defense. Great start to the season!

10/05/2016 - 2:57pm Fit

Nik has always seemed to me like he would fit perfectly with the Spurs or a team that doesn't let that ball stick. A player that is not featured but plays a knockdown shooter role off draw and kick. Like Matt Bonner or Steve Kerr.

05/10/2016 - 8:41pm Tournament

The tournament is so easy to make, somehow UCLA missed it. Anytime you get to the tournament I think it is an accomplishment. Not the greatest season ever but should not be disregarded.

02/13/2016 - 4:45pm Exactly

He didn't let a bad shooting day affect the rest of his game, he had a better game on the boards than any of Purdue's bigs. Unbelievable.

01/11/2016 - 12:42pm Higdon

I hope to see a little more Higdon. I thought he had some burst with the few carries he received. Hopefully after a full year/off-season he will have a better grasp of the position at the college level.

01/02/2016 - 3:26pm On to the next

Due to the last two days of Michigan sports hearing this news does not disappoint me as much.

01/01/2016 - 1:31am Gin/ tonic

Same thing only w/ Tanqueray 10. Cheers!

12/30/2015 - 7:07pm Good win!

A great way to start the BIG Ten season. Hopefully with the confidence from this game Donnal can build on this performance.

12/16/2015 - 3:01pm Under the radar

I've read this attempt at revisionist history before besides McGary they were mostly under the radar at the time they committed. Just from memory and quick googling.

Hardaway Jr.: 3 star unranked on Scout and Rivals. Only major offer Miami(YTM) Most posters wanted Zeigler or Prather.

Burke: 3 star #22 ranked PG on Scout and Espn #27 ranked PG and 127 overall on Rivals. Major offer: Penn State. Most expected Carlton Brundidge to be the starter at PG.

GRIII: 3 star Scout NR and Rivals 118 overall Offers from Missouri St,IUPUI, Indiana St, and Valpo. No Indana and Purdue offered after he committed. Sir Dominique Pointer was the guy most wanted.

Stauskas: 3 star #106 overall Rivals,Espn #32 SF. Offers from Kansas, Stanford, Oklahoma St., Wake, Butler, and Iowa St. Not many blue bloods there. The Kansas offer was thought to be uncommittable until other guys decided.

So none of them were the blue chips at signing that they became by the final rankings. Seems like a great job at evalution.

I always set the pace for bare bones, grueling. Maybe that's why everyone usually died in my party.

09/09/2015 - 2:15pm Exactly, I don't remember

Exactly, I don't remember watching the Elite 8 game against Florida and wishing we got highly ranked Casey Prather instead of 3 star Hardaway with his best offer from Miami.

31-17 Michigan. Go Blue!

05/29/2015 - 10:59am LeBron

LeBron is a great player and one of the most physically dominant players ever. I just have a hard time saying a player that put up 8 pts. in a finals game against the Mavericks while struggling to guard Jason Terry all series better than Jordan. I think it's ok to possibly be the greatest player of your era without all the comparisons to past greats. Just a few years ago so many were saying Kobe now he's jumped over him straight to Jordan. Now he's just ignored and I can't stand Kobe.

05/16/2015 - 7:53pm In the stands behind the

In the stands behind the basket surrounded by Kansas fans that thought the game was over a few minutes earlier. What a euphoric moment!

04/10/2015 - 7:16pm A very talented roster

Yet I won't be surprised if at some point in the season we hear how difficult it is to get all the new players on the same page. Or how they really miss the leadership from last year. Then they will get a lower seed and beat overseeded teams to make the sweet sixteen. What a tremendous coaching job by Izzo.

03/13/2015 - 12:14pm I believe youth is part of

I believe youth is part of the issue. The main thing is when teams that shoot a lot of jump shots they tend not to drive the ball. When teams to into a cold streak you want drive the ball and get to the foul line or get it into the post man and let him operate. The goal is to get a closer shot or get fouled. A veteran team or player will usually attack the basket when the jumpshot stops falling.

03/13/2015 - 11:07am Beating Illinois

Since Groce has been their coach I take extra joy in beating them. I know I should move on but, I refuse to completely get over losing to him in 2011-12.

03/07/2015 - 6:41pm I know no one claimed it was

I know no one claimed it was foolproof. I think today, in this game and the MSU game shows why coaches are hesitant to tell players to foul because sometimes they panic in those situations.

03/07/2015 - 12:26pm I think guys leave because

I think guys leave because they always believe the most positive view of their chances in the draft. A lot of players think the longer you stay the more holes scouts can find in your game.

02/17/2015 - 2:28pm Recruiting a stretch four or

Recruiting a stretch four or big men in general has been weird because I've seen so many players 6'8 and up want/attempt to play like a guard offensively. Yet they don't want to play for Beilien because they don't feed the post enough. So many of these guys want to be considered versatile players. I think Beilien's offense encourages versatility. Maybe I'm confused hearing players/fans make these claims and I rarely see a consistent post game with good footwork in college basketball.

01/10/2015 - 1:25pm Offense is slowly improving

The last few games they are finally starting to see the back door passes that have been available all season. Along with better movement.

Love the uniforms.

01/04/2015 - 8:45pm Exactly, you have to score

Exactly, you have to score more than 3 points in a half. There's no way 20 points was going to be enough to win.

12/13/2014 - 6:15pm Funny thing is a lot of

Funny thing is a lot of people said he shouldn't have taken JMo. Most big men need time to develop unless they are going to be lottery picks. Even some of the lottery guys are just taken for potential. It's frustrating but the way it goes.

I wish Caris could get the same touch foul when he drives the ball.

12/07/2014 - 12:26am OSU

Ohio St. lost to Va. Tech, needed 2OT to beat PSU, and a full 4 quarters to put away Indiana and Michigan. TCU and Baylor should be the only teams in the conversation. I think TCU is the better team but,if Baylor is selected I understand. OSU over TCU and Baylor would be ridiculous.

12/03/2014 - 2:11pm Don't they give the opponent

Don't they give the opponent for the BIG/ACC Challenge after most of the schedule is locked in? Or at least we find out late off-season. If so, wouldn't it be hard to perfectly set up games to prepare for specific opponents?

12/03/2014 - 12:41pm Schedule

I agree, I understand complaints about the football schedule but not hoops. We get good to great home/road matchups and tournaments in the non-conference. Complaining about order of games seems a little nitpicky.

Finally, after a long negative week another chance to watch Michigan football always makes a great weekend.

09/10/2014 - 11:44am You're right missing the jam

You're right missing the jam is a possibility however I'd rather you attempt to jam and miss than allow constant free releases on 3rd and short/medium slants.

09/10/2014 - 11:27am Brian hit on something that

Brian hit on something that frustrates me to no end. When I see cornerbacks in press coverage and they don't attempt to jam the receiver. What's the point of press coverage if you don't touch the receiver? The jam will allow extra time for pressure to get there. I see it so much by multiple teams and levels of football, I'm beginning to wonder are they being coached not to jam all the time in press coverage for some reason?
