UPDATE: Patterson Twitter thing is a hoax

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on July 7th, 2019 at 6:41 PM

Ed-S: Editing the OP because this appears to have been a hoax:

  • Account who "captured" it has done this kind of thing before and is an account that says it is making up quotes in its bio.
  • The logo on the tweet isn't something any tweet actually has (in a reply there would be a "Following" or "Follow" button there)
  • The "if Harbaugh let him call the plays" thing doesn't track with how Michigan's offense runs, nor sound like Shea at all

Good thing false information that everyone runs with because of their biases is just a sports thing, amirite?

I know Vincent Smith has posted a few times (as a former player, not current).  I don't recall any other obvious player accounts, but I would be shocked if there weren't a few more.

This blog isn't hip and trendy like Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and whatever else the kids are using these days.  HUEL better get on that, too.

Shea's just got to do a better job of going through his account login progressions.

Plenty of time to tighten that up before the season.

I personally think it could be fake. It doesn't seem like Shea is big into Twitter judging by his verified account. He tweets/retweets a few things a month. Unless he mainly uses a burner

It wont really matter though. OSU fans will claim its real no matter what and theres no way for Shea to prove that he didn't tweet it

Shitty situation really. I say some of our tech savy guys fake a Fields tweet. Even better would be a Ryan Day tweet

Lmao this is totally something Shea would do. Also most quarterbacks would do, and have done. Trust me, there are plenty of burners out there for kids that want to get their takes into the world without upsetting a locker room. Iowa probably has the most player burner accounts of any major program. But thats mostly bc they don't allow social media.

Thank god we have people who sit at their computers 24/7 to keep us apprised of the mindless instant posts of college kids that we will forget within days.

Can anyone guess which site has more than three times the comments about this than this board?

It will be gone just as quickly.  Even in the sports doldrums of summer, any one of thousands or millions of people will say something stupid on social media, and this will all be forgotten as the swarm moves over.  90% of the sports-interested public will never hear of this anyway, because they have lives.

Don't worry yourself for a moment about this.
