TomVH: Antonio Kinard Update

Submitted by TomVH on

LB Antonio Kinard was originally a commitment for the 2010 class, but ended up going to Hargrave Academy in Virginia. There were questions about whether or not he would be a part of the 2011 class, and I spoke with him about that today.

I have talked to the coaches (at Michigan), and I will be enrolling in January as long as my SAT score is high enough. I should be getting my score back soon, like tomorrow. I need to get somewhere around 1000. I think I got that because I'm here at this military academy, and all I'm allowed to think about is my grades, football, and getting out of here.

So as long as his SAT score is high enough, he was told by admissions that he will be in to enroll January.

This kid is funny without even trying. Here's to Antonio fucking BigTen players up for years to come!

glad to hear I missed 12.4 million board posts about nothing......you probably made many of them.   and he cant be nowhere, although he may not be in a school at all.  What happened to the junior college he signed with?  Seems as if he had an idea there might be a problem.

and if he is "nowhere" for a year, why cant he study and retake his tests, do something to enter a D-1 school next year?

Where's Derrick Rose's brother when you need him?

/sarcasm

Seriously though, I'm happy for the kid and for our team.  Hopefully he gets his 1000 and can help our defensive depth.

Scores from the most recent test will be available to students on October 28th (next Thursday).  There are 2 more tests following that, on November 6th and December 4th.

Here is at least one new student who I'll bet won't be griping about the general appearance of the women at Michigan.

Looking forward to having Antonio as a Wolverine. He should be given huge props for sticking to it. Very admirable regardless of that SAT score.

I hope he gets the 1k. These are the kind of guys I like to see...guys who WANT to come to Michigan. Guys who, when they get on campus, do everything they can to be the best they can be. He may play, he may redshirt, but the one thing I do know is that he gets the advantage of getting to campus early and getting things in order before a football season is in full swing. Please just stay in the dorm your first year...don't rent from the same place Demens did.

Don't take that number so literal. I'm sure that's not the exact number he needs, the point is he just needs to get a certain score to be admitted. The coaches have told him they want him in this class, which is relatively new information.

So, would it be fair to assume Antonio isn't a big fan of military academy life?
