Brian, you run a great site. But this attitude about what's a good thread title and what's a bad thread title doesnt help it to be great. In fact, it's a net negative. Same goes for the attitude about what's a good thread and what's not a good thread. This site is the only place I've ever seen such an attitude, and it bothers people like me and the guy who created the epic Mad Max thread a month or two back.

There have been many threads over the years that I've been here that talk about how the forums are in a deplorable state. If the forums were fixed, so that navigation was as easy as it is almost everywhere else on the internet, then few would care what threads were and weren't up to your standards - and the board would lose a lot of its carping and negativity as a result.

Overall, thanks for a great site.

The original thread title didn't even get the quote correct.  Brian didn't delete the thread.  Brian didn't send him to Bolivia.  Brian didn't even neg him. Brian told him that his thread title was bad.  OP changed the thread title.

Close.

FiveThirtyEight has us at 6% of making the playoffs.  7% of winning the B1G.  So if I try to back out Iowa at a SWAG of 50/50, FiveThirtyEight would give us a ~14% chance of winning the B1G.

fivethirtyeight.com updated college football playoff predictions-week-12

According to the table of probabilities vs spreads at the link immediately below along with current spread of UM favored by 1.5, Mich has somewhere in the higher end of the 50-55% chance to win.

No line on PSU @ MSU yet as Connor Cook's status is uncertain

Does PSU have a chance? If Cook doesn't play, PSU has a strong D-line to contain the rushing attack that beat OSU. On offense, Hackenberg won't be seeing the same blanket coverage from the MSU secondary as he did against us, but he will be facing at least as ferocious a pass rush. If Hackenberg can make throws like his 4th down conversion over the middle, I'd say there's definitely a chance.

Urbz was sandbagging. No way OSU comes out and plays like school girls again. I guarantee Urbz will have a real game plan and take advantage of Glasgow being out.

He didn't necessarily say all that. As a coach you never plan to lose, but you may get arrogant and give a "lesser" foe the B plan, and subsequently lose. It happens. Or simply overlook someone. I can see how 20 something wins in a row or whatever would do that to the whole team, including the coaches of course. I expect Urbz's best this wk. Lets get the W!

Yes, it would be fantastic to make the playoffs, but let's just focus now on beating up on a down OSU team. At this point, it would be extremely satisfying making an already depressed fan base from a rival school even more depressed. Furthermore, OSU players are already speaking out against their coaching staff after just one loss, just imagine what they would do if they got crushed by their arch rivals.

If we make the playoffs, fan-f'ing-tastic, but I don't want a potential win against The Ohio State overshadowed by mgobloggers who are depressed that State won.

Osu has one bad game on offense and the entire blog expects a simple victory over a "down" osu team.

The rain and win were a huge factor in the outcome of Saturday's game. I would not want to face a pissed off Elliot & Barrett. Be careful what you wish for.

Urban Meyer will let his team know that the ONLY chance they have at the playoff is crushing UM, and having chips fall in their favor.

They haven't been overly impressive at any point this year, and up until Saturday hadn't faced an opponent worth a damn. Once they did, they lost. I don't think it's unreasonable for our expectations rise after seeing that crap fest on Saturday.

not sure the focus is on the CFP (has anyone on this thread talking about the CFP? the OP certainly didn't). It's about a division title.  Obviously the focus is 100% on The Game, but it would be so much more fun if it was directly for a division title.  That was what we all wanted when the two teams were put back in the same div.

while still thoroughly enjoying a win in THE GAME should PSU lose later that day.

I don't play, so there's no look-ahead issue, it's only Monday (where's your game analysis thread?), and I don't need my feelings protected from "depression" should MSU win.

Michigan over Iowa in the Rose, because if the Big Ten's in the Playoff, this bowl isn't necessarily tied to taking the top-ranked B1G team left. And while we love the Hawkeyes, bowls aren't in the business of passing up the chance to pair the head coaches of top-five brand names against their former teams.
