Rumor: MSU OL Thiyo Lukusa leaving program and retiring from football

Submitted by Bambi on

I'm putting rumor because I haven't seen any legit sources confirm it, but it seems legit.

Lukusa was a true freshman this past year who played a decent amount of snaps and he played pretty well for a true freshman. MSU's OL struggled as a whole last year and is gradutaing 4 seniors who started last year, so Lukusa was supposed to play a key role in turning that group around.

Once again, I haven't seen it confirmed by an official source yet. But posts are popping up on message boards, Lukusa has removed all MSU student athlete references from social media, and allegedly he's no longer in the student directory.

We did, and I think he even visited at some point in 2014 - not sure if it was official or unofficial though. I am a little fuzzy on whether we ultimately offered though.

I wonder what happened too - hopefully it isn't serious. He did play a bit in MSU's game against Wisconsin, as I recall.

How many years in a row of beating Sparty before we return to normal and are fully over the PTSD of the past decade?

Not a snarky question, but an honest one.  We will always worry about OSU, but at what point will we have considered order restored and once again pay them no attention until they win that 1 flukey game every 5 years against us?

I say another year or two of victories against them and they are as relevant to us as CMU.

was a mess this year. I don't know if he is just burned out, and he was not the problem, exclusively, but he made a plethora of poor decisions and did not manage the QB situation in a remotely coherent fashion. He is not the sole reason for 3-9, but he did not help. I think he may be wise to move to Associate AD soon, and pay Narduzzi the big bucks to come back and right the ship.
