Risk Day 40 - Chaos = OSU Puppet Pals

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on May 1st, 2020 at 11:24 AM

I'm annoyed. There's supposed to be one constant in College Football Risk, and that's that Chaos is....chaotic. While the various schools are expected to form alliances, Chaos is supposed to march to the beat of its own drum -- hence the name. We now know, though, that Chaos is acting as an extension of Ohio State, which explains how it was able to concentrate over half of its power on Boise State and Utah State last night. In other words, Chaos has willingly turned itself into the new minions of OSU's Puppet Pals Club.

What's a frustrated Wolverine to do in these circumstances? Ohio State is fighting dishonorably (who could have seen that coming!?) because they know they can't beat us straight-up. Do we respond by throwing up our hands and saying "screw this crap"? We could....it would save us some heartburn over these last 10 days. OR we could try to do what we've already done so far, which is continue to dominate with our insane fanbase and incredible analytics team.

I say we go the latter route. There's no guarantee that we will win (it's difficult when pretty much everybody is against you outside of a couple VERY appreciated allies), but wouldn't it be awesome to beat Ohio State even with them pulling every dirty trick they can think of? And at the very least, we can certainly prevent them from winning (because Screw OSU).

So let's keep this train rolling. 1,360 of you showed up last night, and I'm betting we can get to 1,500 before the game is over (WHICH IS JUST 10 DAYS FROM NOW). And every single one of you matter! Just look at our Texas/Louisiana territories. Every single one of them was won by a 1 or 2 star player. That means that if you're playing for the first time today, YOU could make the difference between us winning or losing a critical territory. So go to MichiganCFBRisk.com, get your assignment, plug it in, and Let's Go Blue! (And make sure your Michigan-obsessed friends are signed up, too!)

re: secrecy - what's stopping the managers of the teams from setting up a bunch of dummy accounts that play for other teams to see what orders they get?

I'd assume OSU has at least a couple dozen accounts spying on where we're sending our armies. They could ask for the order then just not put it in, so in theory there could be an army of silent spies allowing our enemies to see our every move. They wouldn't even show up in the system.

I mean, if they're NOT doing that I'd be shocked.

Go to the map and click on the territory you fought for the night before then click view history at the bottom of the box that opens up. From there click on the day before, Your name will be highlighted and you will have won an MVP award.

Also on the main map page click on your name above your star ranking and you'll see all of your history as well as the days you won MVP.

I followed this last year with a passing interest (mostly looking at the maps).  I decided to join a few days ago because the OP is right, I hate to see Ohio State win in anything.  It is as easy to join as the OP says and it takes no more than 15-20 seconds of your time each day.  So let's get those numbers up to 1,500.  Who's with me?  Let's go!

My $.02 here. the next two days are going to be the make or break for Michigan. It seems like the weekends is where the numbers dip (both in players and thus power) if we can keep it going and come out of the weekend with higher power than going into it that is a huge win.

I really like the enthusiasm you bring to this day in and day out. I tried to sign up a while ago, accidentally chose Arkansas, and now I can’t choose Michigan. I couldn’t figure out who to contact to fix. Any specific suggestions other than “contact the moderators”?

ok. i'm trying for the first time here. got my assignment. went to the home page. it shows the map. i click the area of the map for the assignment. i just shows owners. it doesn't highlight in "gray" or anything. just shows the owner to the side and border schools.

is that it? done?

TBH all is fair in war and risk. It's not fair in love; love is supposed to have rules, and our society has royally screwed that one up. But I digress.

We should have attempted to coordinate chaos from the start. Maybe next year.

Let's just win.

The problem with this is that a majority of current Chaos are recently eliminated OU and Stanford who were aligned with the Reds.  Ironically might be more potent in Chaos due to their added multiplier each round when attacking then when they acted as their own team. Tennessee in Chaos is harassing GT.  Clemson our eliminated ally did not have much power this round, but hopefully it is them in NE harassing OSU!

PS: That's also OU down their in Oklahoma, Texas harassing TAMU (who helped eliminate their ally)
